I left Greg’s room after confirming that he was fast asleep. I teleported to Teppei’s office and slammed a piece of paper on his desk.

“Oh, you have recovered! You should have seen my surpri…”

Yes yes, this is a request for days off for Greg. He needs at least a week!

“That is understandable, I will arrange for that, so I was surpri…”

Ok if that’s fixed then I have to go. I need to think of something to teach the students on Tuesday. Cya!

“Hey you brat! Let me finish talking! You were deadly ill the last 2 weeks. There is no way you could have rested so I will grant you…no you are required to rest for 2 more weeks!”

Ah, uhm ok then, you tell the students then. I can’t bear those worried and overprotective comments

“That will be your responsibility.”

And who will Crissy blame if I do no such thing?

“Ugh, I despise you, I will get it done in a timely manner.”

Hehe, it’s good that we understand each other. I left the office before Teppei could get more stupid requests in.

I inspected myself. I still had a bit over 5000 curses on me but they were either disarmed by Greg or relatively harmless so they were nothing to worry about. I just have to avoid Healerguy at all costs. He will probably get a heart attack and die if he sees over 5000 curses on me.

Maybe this is the best way to kill a Golden Angel. Appearing front of them with over 5000 curses. So, this means they can only be assassinated by allies then. Because no Golden Angel is going to get a heart attack when their enemy appears with over 5000 curses.

I walked around the corner and bumped into someone. “Hey watch it twerp!”

I looked at a broad tall guy. He reminded me of someone. Donkey?

“The name is Dunkey Hurado! Descendant of…” I ignored him and jumped on the roof of a nearby building.

This is strange. Is this coincidence or is something strange happening again? I sent a clone to investigate. Boshi town was extremely far from here. But about 8 years have passed since Boshi town so it wouldn’t be unrealistic for him to get here in that timespan.

My clone confirmed that this university had a student named Dunkey Hurado. So, it’s pure coincidence. According to him, we have never met because Azu wiped everyone’s memories. But unfortunately, I do remember him.

I observed him. He just continued walking. So far it didn’t seem as if he was as much of a jerk as he was back then.

Just a little bit disturbing to find him here that’s all.

I went to visit Raishin to tell him that I had recovered. He wasn’t in his usual spots. It was nearing 20:00 he was normally enjoying the company of chicks by now. After asking around I found him in a lounge. Surrounded by a lot of familiar faces.

See! I told you that he would come to you if you hung around with me!

Raishin you asshole! Did you finally betray me?!

Raishin teleported to me, grabbed me, and teleported me to the couch he was sitting on, surrounded by my students. I got barraged by hundreds of questions and I had to answer most to the best of my ability. The questions that annoyed me the most were: ‘Are you alright?’, ‘Shouldn’t you rest more?’, ‘Can I play with your tails?’ or any variation of those.

Anyway, I’m fine now, the headmaster did give me 2 more weeks off though.

Well, Greg said that you were almost dying there so I can’t imagine that you were able to rest. Everyone here agrees that you need some rest.

Oh, by the way, Raishin, did you know Donkey goes to this uni?

Huh? That idiot? I did not know that. He doesn’t remember us, right?

I went to sit on the top of a roof. The moon was out. Right, I still needed to figure this out too. It wasn’t a full moon though. I just gazed at the clouds while enjoying the cold winter breeze.

I woke up. When did I fall asleep? It’s a good thing Greg is not here else he would chew me out from sleeping outside. It was 8:16. It was an ordinary Wednesday. I hopped off the roof and went to relax near the frozen lake. Frost was covering the plants and objects. The natural kind. I didn’t freeze anything. I sat on a bench and thought about what I would do. They told me to rest. But that’s boring. I do feel a bit tired though. I went back to my room and decided to sleep for several days. I curled up in my tails and fell asleep.

I woke up to someone banging on my door. Can’t a 9t get a god sleep in? Oh, I seem to have slept for 10 days. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and opened the door. Crissy and Hayley barged in. What’s up? I still have days off.

“We need your help!”

Can’t your gramps help?

“Just come and see for yourself!” Crissy grabbed my hand and dragged me to the edge of the campus. A lot of people have gathered.

It’s just people looking at the ocean.

“They’re not looking at the ocean they’re looking at that!” Crissy had managed to worm her way through the crowd while pulling me. I got a good look at what everyone was looking at.

Hmm, this is a big problem indeed.

We were looking out over the Gcehaio ocean. The uni was built on a peninsula so to the north we could see the mainland while straight in front of us in the far distance we could also see the mainland but that part belonged to the Aquini kingdom. We would be looking at the west Aquini mountain range from the other side. But this is not what they were looking at. Hovering above the ocean was a very large vertical tear. It looked like a dimensional tear but this one wasn’t on the dimensional fabric since everyone could see it.

I opened the correct filter. Well, I guess it is a tear in the dimensional fabric, but why is this one visible to anyone else?

Ah, you’re awake. This tear appeared yesterday evening but it was very small. It has grown considerably since then as you can see… Can you tell me anything special about this tear? Anyone can see it.

I’m sorry, I have no clue what the difference is besides the obvious ones. I guess I will have to close it.

You might be careful with that though. The humans gasped and some even screamed because it seemed like something was moving behind the tear.

It seems I will be undoing my rest…

I didn’t feel like dealing with this but I don’t have a choice it seems. I don’t think ignoring this problem will make it go away. I guess I will have to go pseudo 9t mode here. I was about to get my [Illusionary dagger] when I heard a scream.

Something had broken through and it was huge. It wasn’t a scorpion this time. It looked like an enormous praying mantis. Besides its size it did look like a normal praying mantis. Is this thing suggesting that insects are from different dimensions? Anyway, it seems that I can’t close this hole now. Smaller praying mantis were crawling out of the tear which is now a hole. However, these things were 2m tall. There is a reason why insects are small… no human stands a realistic chance against them if they’re human-sized or taller.

Alright guys! Back off! This place will become a warzone soon! Also, anyone who has questions for me can direct them to the headmaster or the ehhm hey Greg what was my course called again?

Disruption and Evasion…

Yeah! Anyone who has questions for me can direct them to preferably the headmaster but they can also be answered by the Evasion and Disruption students!

I froze a 1 km tall frost pillar and sent a [Flare] at the invaders. This drew their attention and they all headed toward us. Some that had strayed off and were going at the shore north now all headed over to this university. I got all my tails out and Shirayuki. She supplied me with an insane amount of mana and I started chucking [Foxfire: Summer heat] at them. This pissed them off at no end and now they certainly were coming for me. The smaller ones got vaporized but there were way too many of them. I created walls out of frost on the ocean to block their path. I felt a spacequake.

– Agnis, we have a problem, a small dimensional hole has opened up and these invaders are inside the university.- - Can you interact with them?-

-I can yes.- - Can you keep the students safe? And fight off problematic individuals? Defence is your forte so I will feel comfortable leaving them in your hands.-

-Ok. I will find Raishin and send him to help you.- - Thanks.-

I looked behind me and it seemed that the professors in general were relatively useless against these invaders. The big praying mantis was too far for me to hit with my foxfires but the smaller ones were well in range. These things were walking over the ocean as if it were normal. I kept chucking foxfires while Shirayuki kept supplying me with mana. I had almost forgotten that she had stolen an insane amount of mana when she was a fox. The stupid invaders started using my favorite attack; The laser.

If I ever find a Dimsha that can ban an attack from anyone or anything I would ban the laser. I created [Frost Mirrors] but Shirayuki hijacked them and absorbed the energy from them. I guess they’re not mirrors anymore? Greedy for mana as always. I guess this is why she can keep supplying me mana like it’s nothing. I started setting up many layers of [Frost walls] on the university wall and moved away from the university on a cliff next to it. Below me was the ocean and in front of me was an army of praying mantises. Why did I do this? Well if these small ones have a laser, then the big one has one too. I noticed a teleport ping and Raishin appeared next to me.

Just in time, can you wipe that big bug off the face of the map before it starts shooting a laser? Greg is too occupied keeping the students safe to be in charge of blocking the laser when it comes.

On it! Raishin chain teleported toward it and shot an orange lightning laser at the big praying mantis but a barrier blocked it.

-It has a barrier…- - I saw… keep blasting. I will try to dispel it from here.-

I inspected the barrier. I realized that it truly was from across dimensions. It did seem to be made out of mana runes. But many seemed unfamiliar. It did use the same system as we do, which is strange. This thing is from another dimension, isn’t it’s magic supposed to be different? Scratch that, why can I recognise it as being magic? It’s nothing I can’t figure out but forcefully breaking this barrier might be faster.

-This thing is from another dimension. I can’t read the mana runes so well. You just have to bust through it…- -Ok!-

6 enormous orange lightning spears appeared and pierced into the barrier. The barrier didn’t break but the spears poked through it. It seems Raishin had to generate more energy to get them all the way in to hit the praying mantis. Tiger clouds appeared around him and started discharging lightning.

I wiped out more smaller invaders when the whole area started to brighten. I heard screams from the uni. This was what I was afraid of. The big guy was charging up a laser. I wondered if I could cut the barrier open.

I used my [Tail dynamo] and got to orange lightning and used [Iai: Nilah]. Orange and blue slashes flew at the barrier and concentrated at one point. It made a small crack in the barrier. The big praying mantis was way too far. It was clawing at Raishin but not hitting anything. Unfortunately, this didn’t stop it from charging the laser. Range had never been a big issue for me but it seems to be now. The only things that can go that far are my foxfires, [Meteor], and [Solar Stream]. I have never used [Solar Stream] myself but Raishin had ‘taught’ me.

A funny story, he always used it wrong. Whatever hit us was the portion doing light-based damage. He always thought it was a fire skill. So did we. It did generate a lot of heat so we never doubted it. Anyways the light portion of the skill hits first and then the fire portion. It’s just that his mana control is so garbage that the fire part never makes it to our planet. [Meteor] is a bad idea. And [Solar Stream] takes too long. I could go 9t mode to speed it up but that’s not something I want to rely on.

I still decided to use [Solar Stream] to see what happens. Now that this is going on as a backup, I need to block this laser. I can dodge it but the university that’s also in range…

If I ever meet the god of lasers, he will get a good ass whooping!

I carefully placed multiple [Frost walls] while I made sure to continue blasting the smaller mantises and empty out my mana. I circulated nature energy because, at this point, I was overdoing it with mana consumption. I queued up several mana-intensive spells. I have learned from my last encounter where I had to block a laser.

I won’t freeze myself this time. I hope. I also have a secret weapon but I don’t know how that will pan out so I will do what works first. I sighed. I’m going to get so many questions about this.

I Ignited the tip of my tails with blue foxfire. My tails were evenly spread out and the fire connected and formed a circle. I will have this circle spin which will waste a lot of energy once the mana floods in. It will melt this whole area but I’m relatively far from the uni. I will name this [Foxfire: Sapphire Ring]. One day I will be able to use it as an attack but for now it will be in charge in slurping a stupid amount of mana. I might be able to send it back with my counter. I realized that this counter also doesn’t have a name.

Hmm, who cares it’s not as if I’m going to make a habit on doing this.

-Agnis, I’m sorry, I can’t break through this barrier fast enough! - -Don’t worry about it, oh by the way a [Solar Stream] will drop down there in about 4 minutes so beware. I hope it will help you drop this stupid bug.-

-Ok, are you guys going to be alright though? - - Yeah, I think so, Greg is busy protecting the students so I will block this laser with my [Frost Wall].-

I was expecting a response but I felt a mana wave as Raishin went 6t mode and summoned enormous tiger clouds. The spears poking into the barrier turned into black lightning and shattered the barrier. The laser shot out with as target the university. I exhaled and braced myself. It vaporized all its allies on the way here and my [Frost walls] caught the lasers. Some were at an angle and were sending parts of the laser into space. The [Foxfire: Sapphire Wheel] started to spin and the rock beneath me started to soften. Every plant got instantly incinerated. I drew primal runes on the [Frost Wall] in front of me. I’m lucky they had ice as a material. The primal civilization were some crazy people.

Yire paro, yire paro. Mali agaccede adpe me. Mali agaccede adpe me necha pagrediku idac rekhea. Reverhitum, yire paro. Manesa durabs.

I felt the mana influx drop considerably as this incantation dropped the firepower of this laser. I inspected my feet. I wasn’t freezing over, yet. I was standing in a pool of lava though. My [Foxfire: Sapphire ring] had turned into 2 sapphire rings. This ring was bigger and had formed around the original one. The heat of these rings was getting insane but I couldn’t cool this down without getting the energy back with frost magic.

A third ring appeared and everything in a 30m radius was disintegrating or boiling. I messed with the mana runes of one of the rings and turned it into a cold fire. This seemed to keep the heat in check but not by much.The heat and energy influx was still a bit too much. The area of certain disintegration started to grow and it seemed the heat I was giving off was reaching the university. My feet also started to freeze slowly. I drew more runes on the frost wall and repeated the primal incantation I did butcher the pronunciation and messed up some runes so it wasn’t as strong this time around so I got Shirayuki out.

Look I’ve never tried this because I have no idea what will happen. I don’t want you to turn everything into an ice cube, can you promise me that?

I seem to have gone crazy. Talking to objects and things that can’t respond seemed to have become a habit of mine. I sent most of the mana coming in, into Shirayuki and used [Pneuma Boreas], also known as [Nilah]. I was expecting a new fox to appear but I was hoping Shirayuki would return to her form as [Nilah].

My katana started to change form and turned into a light blue fox. She jumped into the laser and grew. There was no point in keeping the frost walls up.

Hey Nilah, can you do something about this?

I gestured at the [Foxfire: Sapphire rings] which had increased to a number of 4 and were melting the walls of the university even from this distance. She wrapped one of her tails around the rings and they disappeared. I also felt all the mana being pulled out of me. The [Solar Stream] arrived and blasted the praying mantis monster who already seemed to be on his last legs. I have never seen Raishin get this serious.

I looked at the state of the students. They were sweating heavily but they were fine. Teppei’s beard had burned off. He looked quite silly without his beard. The laser stopped because Raishin had blasted the head off this huge praying mantis. I’m sure this thing was super strong but that doesn’t matter when a 6t is serious in kicking your ass. His techniques seem quite ally unfriendly though. A large part of the ocean was electrified and black lightning was raining down. 3 minutes after the light portion had blasted the big bug an enormous fire pillar descended on the big bug. Raishin backed off but since it was a controlled fire, he was fine.

Nilah shrunk back to her ‘compact’ size and requested cuddles. I petted her and was happy to see her again. I guess she is now my sword and one of my strongest frost skills. This is getting quite complicated. Nilah and I observed how Raishin summoned more black lightning spears and was chucking them like it was nothing. It now seemed like he was bullying this thing.

Hey Nilah, do you know how to properly fix that dimensional hole? Nilah looked at me as if she was saying something like: aren’t you supposed to know that?

I guess you don’t know. I guess we should wait till Raishin is done and improvise. Nilah tried to sit on my head as she always used to do. She wasn’t heavy but she was quite big now so it looked silly.

Hey, you can’t do that anymore! You’re too big now!

I continued petting her thinking of how big she actually is going to get.

Do you have a smaller size? No reaction.

You’re not going to get bigger, are you? She shook her head. I guess that is good.

The temperature had become human friendly and some students came running. Right, time to get out of here before the questions start rolling in. I tried to stand up but I was stuck. I looked at the floor which was lava until moments ago but it had solidified. It was like how I use [Frozen Ground] and freeze opponents’ pants to the floor but the lava version. I was stuck in solid rock.

Uh oh.

“You’re ok!” Crissy and Hayley dove at me for a hug and I unfortunately couldn’t dodge them. “Hey, what’s this, why is your butt stuck in the ground?” Crissy put her hands in her side.

Well, you see when lava hardens…

She pointed at me. “Hey Hayley, do you see this? I think we found out why immortals have multiple lives! It’s because stuff like this!”

“I agree, who gets their butt stuck in lava…”

Well, it seems that getting your butt stuck in lava is the most reckless thing you’ve done today so I can’t complain. I was surprised how you handled that laser. You are ok right? No frozen patches? Greg liberated my ass from its glassy prison.

The big bug exploded in a lot of strange goo after Raishin killed it. He got hit by the goo and was emptying his stomach. I chain teleported toward him while carrying Nilah and broke the illusion layers on him to undo the goo.

You’re still alive! And unfrozen!

How rude! I know what I’m doing. Mostly…

Oh, what a cool fox! He petted Nilah and Nilah stole all his mana dropping him out of 6t mode.

Wow you got owned by Nilah. She will steal your mana if you touch her. I didn’t expect her to steal all of your mana though.

Haha, I didn’t know what to do with it anyways! It saves me vomiting for 3 hours! At least I could get rid of my mana when fighting against that whale but this world boss died too early. Hahahaha!

No response. But I think I know what she is going to use it for. She seems to be the most active when very strong opponents appear. If Nilah can use [Kryokym] it’s going to do an unimaginable amount of damage.

Nilah, do you know how to use [Kryokym]?

Nilah jumped around excitedly. I think that is a yes. Raishin was still petting Nilah but she lost interest in Raishin after draining all his mana and returned to me and sat down. Her markings had changed to snowflake patterns. How mysterious.

I feel a bit weak…

What did you expect… Now get out of here I need to close this hole. Blast those praying mantis while you return.

I opened the correct filter. I wondered how I am supposed to close this without the maggots. Nilah ignited in foxfire and became extra blue.

We jumped on the dimensional fabric. Nilah tried to freeze the hole shut but this hole didn’t respond to magic that wasn’t spatiotemporal. I should have expected this. Nilah has no idea either. I wonder if those praying mantis were a part of the puzzle. They did look more like invaders though. Even though the centipedes, maggots and beetles had all the chance to invade back in Boshi town, they never did. Is this the difference?

I torched the dimensional hole with foxfire laced with spatial magic while I thought about what I know about all this. Blasting this with opaque white flames won’t help much because there is a shortage of dimensional maggots. What if I reversed time on this hole? I put my hand on the intact fabric. I could feel that as long as I was standing on it my spatiotemporal affinity got a huge boost. I should be able to do stuff here that I normally can’t. I focused on the feeling that I get when I reverse time while in 9t mode. It was considerably harder but not impossibly hard. At first, I didn’t think it worked but slowly but surely the hole started to close. Well, it didn’t close, I was slowly undoing the fact that it ever opened in the first place. It did look like it was leaving a strange bright orange scar behind. I don’t think that’s a good thing. I started panting heavily and I got a headache. This stuff isn’t easy. And I’m lucky that this thing opened quite recently.

I managed to close it after 20 minutes as I was completely exhausted. I laid on my back on the dimensional fabric and looked at the ugly bright orange scar it left behind. Is this an indication that I messed up? It’s better than leaving it open right? Nilah put her face on my chest and replenished my mana. I wonder what would happen if I torch it with foxfire now. I petted Nilah and got up and torched the scar with [Foxfire: Summer heat]. The scar seemed to dry out and made some strange sounds.

It seemed to turn transparent and shattered. The strange crystals dropped on the dimensional fabric. I looked at where the scar was. It was a bit discolored; it was weaker than the fabric around it but it was stronger than the scar. I could use the help of a 7t now. They would be able to strengthen it.

I walked over to the strange crystals that were laying on the fabric. I inspected it. In front of me was a collection of light purple seven sided crystals. None of my filters could tell me anything interesting about them. I just chucked them into my dimensional pocket. Maybe I could sell these rocks to Yttroz Industries or make something out of it. I’m sure that they have never seen these strange crystals before.

I was proud of my work and concerned. This hole had only opened up yesterday and it took me this much effort to close it. What about holes that have been open for days or months or even years? I can’t possibly reverse time on those. There must be something else I’m missing. At least I have another tool to close these holes and tears. I jumped off the fabric and forgot that it was midair. I looked at the ocean below. To be honest the ocean isn’t a threat to me so it’s not like what I did was reckless.

I’m not sure if the humans could see me walking around on the dimensional fabric because this tear was visible to them. But if they could see me, it would have probably looked to them like I was walking on air. Most holes and tears I encounter are in the air. Is it on purpose or is it just more likely? What if a hole appears underground? How would I know? More questions and no answers. I froze a couch on the ocean and sat on it while I looked at how the humans were barraging Greg with questions. I think I will stay here for a bit until the humans calm down. I saw Raishin and Hayley acting like a couple. They aren’t being gross. Maybe Raishin will be able to pull this boyfriend thing after all.
