Agnisotra: Origin Tails

The students are enjoying their break and I’m running probability manipulation to have my nightmare appear as last. I don’t know which one will appear but unless it’s when we lost our hometown, it will involve fighting strong opponents. Maybe some events from Boshi town, or when we lost Ted. If I’m lucky its being unable to find Thalia in that huge underwater city. But I’m never lucky.

It could also be the one where I broke Norya out of her seal. If that one appears we’re screwed. Then again maybe it allows for Norya to help us. In that case we’re not so screwed. It’s just that a fight between Norya and tomato goddess is going to wipe out the humans here.

Crissy had recovered and went to join her friends and apologized for her behavior. The students seemed to have really bonded during this dungeon. I guess it makes them understand each other better inside and outside of battle and see a different side to them than what they normally see on the campus.

They finished eating and chatted a bit. To me they could rest as long as they wanted but an hour after the break started, they approached me and told me that they were ready.

I will partially lift the freeze after you guys get into position. There is one thing I want you guys to do. If you see a scene and I am in it. Run.

“Hehe, you don’t want us to see your nightmare?” Hayley teased me, failing to realize that their life is on the line.

Most of the things that give me nightmares would probably kill you guys easily, please run when that scene plays.

“Oh, ok.” The students stated to chatter while getting into position. They seemed to be curious what my nightmare would be like.

Teppei, you’re the only one that will probably be able to do something when my nightmare appears. But what’s more important is the student’s safety. I don’t know which nightmare will appear but only 1 is safe…

“That is fine, I will keep the students safe and make fun of your nightmare later on.” I rolled my eyes an observed the students.

They still seemed tired but their efficiency had gone up. I guess they had also discussed some strategy. Breathless Woofus fell 20 minutes after they had re engaged. Crissy seemed relieved that it was dead.

The next nightmare was interesting. It was a circus. Not a scary circus. A normal circus. The midget seemed to have a phobia of clowns. She was screaming the place down and ordering the students to attack the clowns but this seemed to be a non-combat nightmare. 10 more nightmares passed of which 4 were combat nightmares. Teppei had to help with 2 of them because they were tough and the students were very tired. I got up and prepared for my nightmare. One more nightmare until mine…

This nightmare was cute. It was a field full of sheep. Oh, never mind the sky turned dark and the sheep suddenly turned into a horde of creepy zombie sheep that had their guts spilling out. It seemed to have been the dream of Francis. How uncharacteristic. Maybe he likes sheep. The scene changed.

The sky was red and burning, thunder was dropping like it was rain, and I saw myself walking through the streets of what I recognized as Alledra, it felt familiar.

Oh, shit I didn’t expect this nightmare to appear.

Guys, this nightmare is bad news! Shirayuki started to feed me a lot of mana.

The scene continued with me walking into a restaurant that I seemed to like and grabbed a bite and hide from the madness that was happening outside

I got my order but when I was about to dig in, the food decayed. I looked around shocked and wondered what happened to my food and saw others' food decaying too. A woman stepped in and stood at the entrance. She had black hair with feathers sticking out of it, dark green glowing eyes. She wore a dark green and black feathered dress with a nefarious smile, she asked if we enjoyed our food but I knew she was responsible for this.

My nightmare versions instincts told him to run, that this woman is dangerous, but I was pissed in this scene. I had helped the citizens gather food in this hellish weather and make the meal in this restaurant possible and this woman made the last 5h of going through hell, undone. I didn't know who she was but I could feel the divinity factor on her.

Great another pain in the ass god I said in my dream.

I felt very annoyed and the anger and disappointment of the food that I worked hard for disappear. The people in the restaurant cleared out when they heard me say this. The woman slowly approached with a smile on her face, she was quite attractive but everything about her annoyed me, she sat down across me at the table I was sitting at, crossed her legs, and asked me why I didn't flee. I narrowed my eyes and responded with:

I can't kick your ass with my back turned to you.

The woman laughed, maybe she found it amusing or was laughing mockingly.

“The name is Hablena. I would be delighted to turn you into a decaying pile infested with maggots.”

I finished my carbonated lime soda which didn't decay, crushed the cup, and lit it on fire. I threw it at her. She easily dodged it and stretched out her hand to activate some magic or ability.

Guys, this bitch is a goddess! Teppei, get them the fuck out of here!

I went 9t mode as Hablena broke out of the scene. Just my luck I had to have a nightmare of a goddess attacking me and it had to appear. Shirayuki misbehaved and froze the whole area.

Hey, I know how you feel but be considerate of the humans here.

I confirmed that Teppei had gathered the students safely. This goddess is a problem. She uses a rare element called Rot. She blasted the area and 2 illusion layers on me broke. I sent a [Iai: Nilah] at her. She tried to decay it but tough luck for her.

“What?! This isn’t magic!” Right deities aren’t the brightest. I assume she can only use rot on magic. Frost magic is magic but it didn’t seem to be affected by rot. I froze her arm because she was trying something.

“Ugh, they use Pagos here too! That’s why we wiped them all out in our dimension!”

Right, this is both concerning and useful. If I remember correctly gramps called frost magic Pagos. And this seemed quite effective against deities.

I folded space and popped her head off. Unfortunately, this isn’t an issue for goddesses as it just grows back. I rewound time so that she got hit again by my first [Iai: Nilah]. I pulled up information from the battle I saw long ago. It was when Isi fought against Ira. I can use that information now.

She tried to say something again and I popped her head off again. I kept repeating this and it pissed her off because she couldn’t get a word in. She started to gather energy. Even the restaurant of the scene started to decay. I covered myself in frost and mana flooded in. All my tails ignited in blue foxfire.

I started chucking [Foxfire: Winter’s end] at this goddess. It hurt my pride that this didn’t seem to do as much damage as I had hoped. It does seem she takes more damage from frost magic and Shirayuki’s slashes. I remember Inyr commenting that Shirayuki could possibly kill a god. I guess now is the time to find out. I unsheathed Shirayuki but didn’t swing her.

“Oh, my that is a gorgeous sword. Weapons are not my thing but I will take good care of it while you’re rotting on the floor.” She shot a dark green bolt intermixed with black.

I cut it in 2 with minimal movement. This seemed to surprise her. The frost surrounding me did pick up a lot of mana while I did that. I used [Blindside] and cut her head off cleanly. She talked while her head spun slowly while decapitated.

“You can’t kill a goddess with just that.” She started to regenerate and I hit her with [Kryokym].

“Aaagh! I hate Pagos!” Is it safe to assume frost magic is her weakness?

It did a stupid amount of damage because all the frost around me is absorbing the waves of rot she sends out. I glanced over at the humans.

My clones had erected several layers of frost walls to protect them. My moment of inattention almost cost me. I warped space and her punch landed on her face.

Phew that was close. I need to practice spatial magic so that I can do this when not in 9t mode. I messed with time so that she got hit again by my previous [Kryokym]. I sent [Frost slashes] at her from a distance. I made sure to pop her head off when she tried to speak. Cut off her limbs when she tried an action and returned her time when she tried something I was unsure of.

Sometimes she did something to set my intuition off so I had to prevent it from happening because I was unsure if I could deal with it after it had happened. The waves of decay that she sent out were increasing which meant I could drop more [Kryokym] on her. I would have been so dead if I had never met gramps in that book. [Kryokym] is the only reason I haven’t turned into a blood mist yet.

What is wrong? You’re not very talkative?

I smirked as I popped her head off at her jaw when she tried to speak. Spatial magic is so overpowered. I tried the [Dimensional Twist] those Antoids used and put a hole in her torso. I saw green with black maggots gather around the hole, and filling it up which then turned into her flesh. Or whatever she was made of.

Yuck, that is disgusting.

I shot a [Foxfire: Summer Blaze] at her but it did way less than any frost skill I had sent at her.

I need to dump mana. I replayed the last 5 [Kryokym] I even dropped a [God of Thunder] on her. This seemed to have hurt her a lot and she had problems regenerating the electrical burns.

Oof, this is a very bad matchup for you.

She created 4 enormous worms and sent a wave of flies at me. I shifted my stance and used fire [Dragon]. She might be resistant to fire but these worms and flies surely aren’t. She sent out another blast and this sent me flying into a wall. This didn’t hurt because I was covered in my [Frost Cloak]. It didn’t even break a [Frozen Skin] layer. It seems my [Frost Cloak] is doing the heavy lifting here.

“What is this bullshit! I thought this dimension was full of magic! What’s the point if you don’t use magic!”

As I said this is a terrible matchup for you.

The fire [Dragon] incinerated the disgusting bugs she sent at me. I kept moving it around and made sure to wipe out every fly and every worm until the [Dragon] became sentient. From what she had managed to say so far it seems she’s from a different dimension. I assume this means a different house if using spirit Isi’s house analogy. And magic seems to be uncommon there, or at least not as common as it’s here. And she seems to be strong against magic.

In theory she should be extremely strong here then but unfortunately, I’m a bad matchup for her. The problem is this is too complicated of a situation for a nightmare. Is this really a nightmare? The fire [Dragon] went out to eradicate every bug Hablena had summoned. She seemed more concerned about being frustrated than dealing with me. I popped her head off again just for the laughs and dropped my 9t mode.

I think I can beat her without it. She is extremely weak to frost magic and relatively weak to lightning. This puts her in the situation where she intersects with a question I had once asked myself. After I achieve the [Silver Torrent Mode] can I freeze the lightning and mix it with frost magic? Only one way to find out.

I took off my shoes, walked over to the humans and handed them over to Crissy.

“Huh, what?” My clones went to harass Hablena for a bit. They started activating the traps they had set up. She might be a goddess but she is only situationally dangerous. I’m also assuming this one isn’t as strong as the real one if she exists.

My shoes are going to get destroyed if I keep them when I’m using this skill.

“Hey! Stop disrespecting me by having your clones fight me! Come…” A clone cut Hablena’s head off.

I handed my shoes to the humans behind the [Frost Walls].

Promise me you guys wont barrage me with a million questions after this. I will show you why my adventurer’s name is Silver Torrent.

I walked away and released tons of daggers and wires. These wires were all made from braided dragonbeard. Even a goddess will have issues breaking these. I started [Accel step] and [Dagger Torrent]. Being weak to lightning puts Hablena at a large disadvantage. She tried to decay the wires which failed. She then targeted the daggers but I sent a [Wintersbite] at her. Shirayuki seemed to have dumped a lot of energy in it.

“I will give it to you, you’re strong. How about this? Become my husband and we will dominate this dimension together?” I looked at her.

She was attractive, unfortunately I’m not interested in immortals that are made out of maggots.

Sorry, I pass, I’m not interested in a wife made out of maggots, moreover you’re just a nightmare.

The lightning shifted red and Hablena seemed to have difficulties concentrating because of all the pain I inflicted on her. Is it possible that she isn’t used to taking damage? She is a god after all. And just getting close to her would get most races one-shot. Has she never fought other gods before? I realize that I actually don’t know much about deities. Only that they’re assholes. But knowing my enemy is a good way to stay alive.

How about this, you disappear and I let you live!

“Hah! How cocky! How about this then!” She waved and a dark green and black fog started to gather around her and started to pulse. I thickened the frost around me and gave myself a [Frost cloak]. I got more energy in but also other things.

Uh oh.

“Hmm, that is strange, you should be riddled with curses, why are you still alive?”

Oof, I’ll have to visit Greg after this.

I made an effort to cut through the pulsing fog to make sure I didn’t get more curses on myself. I counted 8936 curses. I still feel fine. Greg’s passive is carrying me hard here. I don’t know to what extent this is going to save me. I might keel over the moment I hit 10k.

I sped up and used more [Accel] steps and [Accel turns] and kept cutting the fog with [Frost Slashes]. Her attacks are as usual a bad matchup against mine. I was sapping my own [Dagger Torrent] but I had to prevent any more curses from accumulating. I sent out a [Nine tailed slash] It was similar to [Iai: Nilah] but way weaker. And successfully cut her into ribbons which caused the pulsing fog to stop. I sped up and the [Dagger Torrent] could finally progress to orange lightning. She gathered another type of fog which started to rapidly decay and corrode the floor around her. She tried to lock on to me.

“Stop zipping around like a fly!”

I thought you liked flies!

An orange lightning imbued dagger went straight through her. She clutched her torso and collapsed to the ground.

“Ugh, you’re just a mortal! I’m a goddess!”

It seems you have no idea what you’re fighting. Let your ignorance be a lesson.

The area around her stated to slowly decay. The wires made a pleasant sound as the lightning turned to black. At this point Hablena was only screaming out in pain. It seems she isn’t as sturdy as that demigod I had fought before. She tried to escape by trying to turn herself into a swarm of flies. The fire [Dragon] saw this as a cue to attack her.

It didn’t do damage but it did force her into her tangible form.

“Ugh! Fine! I’ll bring this whole place down then!” She tried to touch the ground but I swapped her with a dagger that was flying around. I have to say she might not be as sturdy as that demigod but she holds out quite long. If I had to compare the two. If they were gaming characters, demigod would probably be a high hp and high-defence character. This chick only has high hp.

She started bleeding as I continued sending daggers at her and by frying her with black lightning. I started up my [Tail Dynamo]. The leyline energy gathering around my tails became visible to everyone.

“What are you…”

I am responsible for kicking the ass of anyone who causes trouble in this dimension, tries to invade this dimension or those that have invaded this dimension. Since you are an illegal immigrant, it is time for you to be turned into nothingness.

“Heh, invading this dimension was easy, it was childsplay.”

Well, you know what they say; play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

My tails reversed their spin which dropped the color of the lightning temporarily to orange which then shifted to silver. My cosmetic illusion wore off and revealed my silver hair and tails.

Hablena’s regeneration had difficulties keeping up. I gave it an extra push and used [Accel Stop] and attained [Silver Torrent mode].

Hablena was panting and tried to blast some silver lightning away. She was successful but that didn’t matter anymore. “You… have finally stopped moving… Did you give up? I will spare you if you surrender.”

I looked at her. Her confidence was gone. Her hair was a mess. No attack she did seemed to work. And yet she still had her godly arrogance.

Do you really think you’re that much better than us?

“Hah! Of course! I was created as a deity! I have so much that you have not!”

A gaping wound in your side? Several electrical burns? Cuts everywhere, an enormous ego and an army of flies? You’re correct you have a lot of things I don’t have but I will gladly pass on those. Now what do you have to say before I kill you? I’m sure you won’t be permanently dead because that’s just how deities work and you’re just a nightmare.

“Heh, just a nightmare! How about…”

I sent the fire [Dragon] at her and turned it into a [Silver Dragon]. I tried my best to not get cocky. I need to remember that this is probably a way weaker version than the real one. Just like that shade of tomato goddess, we fought in Boshi town.

Hablena was screaming in agony as the [Silver Dragon] toyed with her. Even just as a cheap knockoff she did load me up with a lot of curses and would be able to knock some lives off me if I had made a mistake. It would’ve been way worse if her matchup against me wasn’t so terrible.

I shifted stance and used [Silver Drowning Pulse] and slowly started to fill the area with silver lightning. Her arrogance seemed to have broken and she was crying for mercy. I think she only means this because she is getting her ass kicked. I’m sure that if the situation was reversed, she would have turned me into a pile of decaying matter in a heartbeat. I still felt a bit bad about continuing to assault someone who was crying for mercy. This would’ve been easier for me if she kept her arrogance till the end.

I steeled my heart and formed 3 more [Silver Dragons] out of all the silver lightning here and sent them at her. I slowly mixed them with frost magic. It was strange, this shouldn’t mix but it seemed to work well. Is it because the lightning acts as water now?

The [Silver Frost Dragons] crashed into Hablena and completely vaporized her after she let out a scream that shook me. It just sounded like a scream any woman would let out in pain. Am I unsuited for this? It shouldn’t affect me this much. She would have killed everyone here in this room. Sometimes I wish that I could steel my heart better than this.

I took a deep breath and exhaled. The room slowly turned back normal. I got rid of all the silver lightning and cancelled my [Silver Torrent Mode]. I instantly took a mountain of food out of my dimensional pocket and started to eat. My feet didn’t hurt as much as last time I used [Silver Torrent].

The humans weren’t barred off by the [Frost Walls] anymore and gathered around me.

“Was… did… did you just kill a goddess?” Hayley seemed baffled.

Not a real goddess, just an imitation that appeared from my nightmare, the real one would probably kick my ass or kill me several times. Can you hand me that pizza?

A student which’s name started with a ‘G’ Handed me my pizza. At least I think his name started with a ‘G’.

“They’re so fluffy!” Crissy dove into my tails.

At this point I didn’t care that my tails were a very popular attraction. I was busy eating.

“So that… that was silver lightning, it acted as If it was water, so is that…” Nobody seemed to be able to formulate complete sentences.

This uni is a scam! What’s the point of a uni if their Kaledonian starts to fail at random moments.

That’s where Silver Torrent comes from yeah. Do you guys want to eat? There is more than enough?

The students were interested in other things rather than food.

Someone adjusted his glasses. “You did say you were a fox beast kin. I don’t remember any having 9 tails. Unless it’s from a very specific extinct mythical race.”

Very sharp Francis. What you see here is an illusion, they are extinct indeed. I wonder if they would buy this bullshit.

“Wait, so Francis, you’re saying that our teacher is from a mythical race? Wow dude! That’s so cool!” Randy’s energy spread and the other students seemed to be excited except for 2 students. The others picked up on this.

A student noticed this. “Hey, did you two know? You did tell us about your adventure with him and another professor before you came here.”

Yeah, they know. Phew that was a good meal. Let’s get out of here before my other nightmares appear.

I got up but I fell down. I looked at my hand and it was shaking a bit. It seems I have used more energy than I thought. It was more of a mental issue. I was mentally fatigued. Fighting a god is quite stressful. My body was fine.

“Here let me help you. Whoa you really are as light as Chris told me.” Teppei gave me a piggyback.

I can walk just fine. Can you also tell these chicks to get out of my tails?

“Ladies, stop messing around, let’s get out of here.”

That white thing there is a teleporter. It should bring us outside. But first!

I pointed at the empty spot. Where at first the statue stood, was now a dark green button. Since I can’t see any treasure here it only means that it gives us access to the treasure room. The brunette pressed the button and I heard some rumbling. I grabbed all the nearby students with wires and pulled them away from the center. A mountain of treasures fell down the ceiling and gold and other metals kept falling. The waterfall of treasure continued until it subsided after 3 minutes.

The students got excited. Until another statue fell down to replace the one that had been there before. They backed off a bit.

“Uhh, what do we do?”

Grab it and be careful. Chuck it in my dimensional pocket. We will then get out of here.

I tried to get off Teppei’s back to help the students.

“Leave this to them.” I nodded.

It took them 15 minutes to get all the treasure in my dimensional pocket and we took the teleporter out.

“Since Agnis is tired. I will take the lead now!”

Who died and made you the boss?

He flashed a part of his sword by unsheathing it a bit. “Do you want to volunteer?”

No thank you, go on.

"We will rest up here and then find a way to get back tomorrow.”

See this is why it was a bad idea to make you leader. Guys gather round!

Teppei didn’t want me to get off his back so I swapped myself with the guy who had a crush on Crissy.

“You again!” The old fart drew his sword.

“Aaagh!”

While that student kept Teppei occupied I drew the teleport circle.

“Do you need help with that?”

Thank you but do you know how to draw a long-ranged transmission teleport circle Crissy?

“Ehh, good luck!” She gave me a thumbs up and backed off.

I finished the circle and pulled Teppei and the unlucky student into the circle because Teppei was chasing the poor man.

Before we knew it, we were back at the field where we normally have class. I dumped all the treasure and the stuff they had brought with them.

Grab your stuff and distribute the treasure. Also...

I approached Crissy and Hayley and dumped their share of the labyrinth dungeon treasure.

“Hey why do they get more!”

Didn’t I tell you guys that these 2 had been in a dungeon with me before? If I see any of you giving them an unfair share, I will personally kick your ass! There will be no class for the next week you guys have deserved your rest make sure to keep your treasure safe, I’m sure the headmaster will help you with it..

“Make it 2 weeks, I keep hearing from Chris that this guy doesn’t take enough breaks. I’m proud to have you all as my students let this trip be a learning experience for you all. AND YOU! WE NEED TO HAVE A LONG CHAT!” Teppei dragged the guy who had a crush on Crissy away.

I didn’t feel like dealing with more questions so I teleported to my room, curled up in my tails and fell asleep.

The nightmare with Hablena reappeared and was as realistic as ever.
