Vol 3 Ch 17.5: Side story 1 - Dimensional Pocket
I hopped into my dimensional pocket, got all my tails out, and stretched. It was time for my weekly “Me time”, it is when I can relax and don’t have to worry about anything. Time flows different in here than in the real world. I strolled through the field of Phoenix flowers that I’m tending too and set it ablaze.
Phoenix flowers don’t need water but fire to grow. The hotter the fire the better. It also seems they prefer golden flames. It’s the type of flames my mother and sisters always used on me to recover. This is one of the few moments where I switch to my phoenix side and ignite. I have yet to find out how to use these flames as a fox.
The flowers seem to do great. They have to be. They have the ability to restore stamina when the pollen get ignited and inhaled. These flowers need me as much as I need them. They were driven to near extinction as they are popular under fire users. Also there aren’t many places that are constantly ablaze on this continent.
The Phoenix flowers seemed happy with the golden blaze. It was time to go to the next plant that I have to keep alive as they will keep me alive.
The scenery changed as I was in a field of Dawnlights. These also don’t need water but they need light. I returned to my 9t self and made white yellow flames, known for their luminosity. One side of the field contain the Dawnlights that will be used for illumination as using fire isn’t always optimal for illuminating spaces and the other side will have the Dawnlights, primed and ready to explode. It is the only method in which I will be able to inflict light-based damage. The offensive Dawnlight need longer exposure to light.
Tuning the time flow on my flower fields was tricky. Time has to flow slower than the outside world but faster than most of my dimensional pocket. Many flowers have died before I could get the balance right.
I almost stepped on a primed Dawnlight. This had also caused me many issues. They won’t explode because finding the right balance in this also took time. It did cost me though as I had blown myself up several times before, half of them were because I carelessly stepped on oversaturated Dawnlights. They will only explode now if I throw them.
The Dawnlight round was done. It was time for the last plant that I grow. The other plants are stored as perishable materials.
The scene changed and it was just 5 plants in a open space. So heres te thing. I completely forgot that I had planted Cnidaria seeds. Most had died and only these 5 were left when I rediscovered them.
They are doing quite well now. These just need water. I won’t be able to use any Cnidaria seeds as this will put this population in danger and I will have to return to the Cnidaria forest to restock. And I don’t feel like going back there.
The Cnidaria seeds were watered and I moved to the part that held water. I had ocean water and river water stored. Ocean water was on accident as opening my dimensional pocket underwater also gets water inside but I could use that.
A part of the river water was set aside to water plants or for consumption, the rest was for when I one day need an insane amount of water and I can’t use water Dragonvein for some reason.
I jumped in the oceanwater and practiced underwater combat. Getting rusty in this will certainly get myself killed.
I replayed every underwater adventure I’ve had and also created illusions of anything I could come up with. It was 3 hours well spent. I do this every week but there might come moments when I can’t as I occasionally sleep for a week or longer.
The pocket changed again and I was in the part where I had stored sand. I had tried but there was nothing I could think of. What do people normally use sand for? Sand is not my thing so I have no clue.
Spending too much time here will get sand in my tails and getting sand out of my tails is a nightmare. I moved to a different part in my pocket. It was a jungle. It was an imitation of my home in the jungle. This is where I would truly relax.
I would catch up on sleep and eat food I’m too greedy for to share with others and more.
I woke up after a 6-hour nap and stretched again. The pocket changed again and a lab appeared. It was similar to Azu’s lab. Working on my magic skills and improving them is important. I’m also looking into new types of magic and doing research on magic myself.
The archived information floated by on command as I was messing around and attempting to create magic circles never seen before.
4 days had passed and there was some progress. That will do for now. An open area appeared and it was time to practice every Dragonvein element. The focus lies on wind Dragonvein as that is the element I use the least. There is also earth Dragonvein but who cares about that! I will go to the desert if I want to deal with sand!
The pocket changed after 3 ours. It was time for blacksmithing and maintaining my equipment. It’s not much as I hardly lose daggers. They always get sucked back into my dimensional pocket after I use them. or they get vaporized by the lightning I run through them.
I need to replace the daggers that I vaporize. Other weapons also get crafted but the focus lies on creating daggers.
My skillset is so wide that I need to keep up to date with everything. Also hammering metal relieves stress!
2 days had passed of blacksmithing. The last one is making sure I keep making Millennial Foxbite and poisons.
Poison is not my style but it s possible to get cheap shots in with poison. I should remember that. It is hard to remember options that are not my style. Millennial Foxbite is my style though. What is the difference? That is a good question! I don’t know the answer!
Well, Millennial Foxbite is made out of my own blood so it’s technically a part of me, just like my tails and my foxfire, which means it should be easier for me to tweak its properties.it has as much potential as a 9t and it smells nice!
And with that done I slept for one whole day, after which I hopped out of my dimensional pocket. I had been inside the dimensional pocket for a week but only 5 minutes have passed in the outside world. I love being a 9t!
