Pneuma 29: Secret Weapon #3 II
Now that nobody is supervising me and I’m not busy anymore, I can do whatever I want! It has been a while but it is time to finish my Secret Weapon #3.
I created more bubbles and water clones and continued where I got interrupted a year ago. I felt a familiar mana wave and smiled after confirming Raishin was doing well. Another minor god was approaching him though. Although… Inyr seemed to have just killed a minor god and is headed for Raishin too. This might get interesting.
I kept an eye out on their battle while continuing with my secret weapon. Everything went well until the pear stealing elders came in and started to snack on my pears.
“So, what is the next step of your research?”
Kicking your assess if you don’t leave my fruit alone!
“Just give up, it has become a tradition by now. Is that related to finishing the spirit vessel?” Pear stealing elder #1 stole another pear while pointed at my clones making the secret weapon oil.
It is not but you might find out what I’m doing in due time.
“Ooh, I found some bananas!”
Noo not my bananas! Get out!
They took all my bananas and fled.
I was dumbfounded. They are supposed to be elders, I just got raided by elders. Why can’t they act like the others? I got a reminder that some adults are just kids in bigger bodies and I sighed.
That’s it. I have tolerated my fruit being stolen for a year, but this is the last straw! This means war! And I have the perfect weapon to kickstart this war. I looked at my clones that were working hard at extracting the blue spicy oil.
I have to test my new secret weapon someday. It’s nice that these 2 elders have volunteered. I do need to find an application. I could do it in gas form, but I might hit innocent bystanders. So, I will have to have it applied orally.
I took some tomatoes out of my dimensional pocket, put them in my empty fruit bowl and put some salt to the side while wondering if they will steal my tomatoes next.
The process of extracting the oil took the rest of the day. I looked proudly at my new secret weapon. I had 5 different batches, all blue but in varying intensity. The lighter blue ones are the least spicy. Now which one should I use for this war? The second spiciest or third spiciest?
I don’t want to kill them, yet. So, I will use the third spiciest. I put on my gas mask, made a syringe out of frost magic and sucked up some spicy oil, and injected them into the tomatoes. An illusion here and an illusion there, and they looked like normal tomatoes.
The salt drew my attention. What if I replace this with Secret Weapon #1 and disguise it as salt? All is fair in war!
With my 2 secret weapons ready, all I had to do was wait. Greg was still figuring out the finer details of the alchemy process, so I had time to fool around. I decided to find out what Inna was doing as I haven’t seen her in a long time.
I went to my neighbor, but she wasn’t home. I asked around, most haven’t seen Inna in a long time, but I eventually found out what was going on. She had left the village to go and see the outside world. I had already guessed that much, but now I have confirmation. I want to complain that she could have said goodbye, but she probably did, I was just too busy to notice. Greg wasn’t home, Raishin was killing a god with Inyr and Elliana wasn’t home either. What to do?
I decided to practice some Dragonvein. I didn’t get super rusty so I didn’t tire myself out needlessly. 2 loud screams came from the direction of my house after an hour which marked the end of my practice. I grinned and returned home.
The 2 elders were rolling over the floor clutching their throats. They were sweating, and their noses were running. Their eyes were also tearing up. They were a mess. They were flushing their mouths with water magic but failed to get relief.
Idiots… water doesn’t work on spicy stuff.
I crouched down next to them and showed them my secret weapon #2, the non-spoilt and non-boiled version. It is funny how my secret weapon #2 can counter my secret weapon #3.
I will give you some if you promise to never ever steal my fruit again.
They didn’t hesitate, they nodded and gulped down the Secret Weapon #2. They still seemed uncomfortable, but they felt good enough to flee from the scene. I am unsure how effective this was, so I placed apples in my fruit bowl with the second-spiciest oil I had. They will get punished even harder now if they return. I will also give them spoiled secret weapon #2 if they pull this off again.
A week went by and Greg and Elliana were still gone. Raishin returned, and he had killed 3 minor gods. He looked beat up badly. He had only lost 3 lives, though. I think this is impressive.
Most minor gods are pushovers, but I also had to run from others.
Hmm yeah, I suppose it’s matchup dependent. Also, the ones we’ve encountered so far seemed to be the bottom of the barrel. I think it would be a bad idea to think we can take minor gods as a category. We can probably beat half of the minor gods and lose to the other half. How was your experience?
They like to talk a lot… the very arrogant ones were the ones I killed. The rest escaped or I had to flee from.
I punched his shoulder.
So you're a godkiller now!
Hmm, yeah. It was exhilarating at first, but that disappeared quite fast. We already knew this, but they really don’t care for us or the environment.it really felt like a duty to drive them off or kill them. One kept complaining that a dragon killed his brother. His brother had the ‘brilliant’ idea of turning all the air on the planet into wine. He didn’t understand why his brother had to die for that ‘brilliant’ plan. The other one was complaining that I killed his brother, which was Sneaker god. At least he won’t be bothering you anymore.
Oh, that sounds familiar. I met a dragon that hunted down gods as a hobby. He would’ve had an easy time killing a minor god yeah.
Oh, Inyr right? I met him he’s a very cool dragon, he helped me kill the third minor god.
How is he doing?
He is doing well he wanted to fight me afterward but… I fled, the battle was rough on me since I ran out of energy and needed to eat and there is no way I can fight a dragon that hunts down minor gods when he’s bored haha!
Yeah, I fought him twice, he kicked my ass without trying.
I can imagine. So, what have you been up to?
I am currently at war against the tomato stealing elders.
They seem to have a different name every time you mention this, so who is winning the war?
Think I’m winning because it has been quiet for a week.
Is your fruit finally safe?
We heard 2 screams originating from my house.
I guess not.
We went over to my house and I saw a familiar scene. One elder had passed out, though. I checked if he was still alive. He was still alive and kicking. I crouched down next to the conscious elder and took out the spoiled Secret Weapon #2.
Last warning. The next batch of fruit is going to be spicier and might kill you. You will get this poi…milk if you promise to leave my fruit alone and to accept these terms: I am not responsible for what happens to you if you happen to eat the next dose of fruit, understood?
The elder didn’t hesitate, grabbed the poison, downed it, took his friend and fled.
Do you think they will be back?
I hope they won’t.
Oh apples!
Raishin bit into an apple and his face changed.
You idiot…
