Agnisotra: Origin Tails

I had the strange dream again where someone died right in front of me. I tried to catch more of the dream but there were no useful details. All I knew was that it was the turning point in my emotional state. It’s when I go from calm and carefree to serious.

I don’t get serious because everything around me might die if that happens. I would need a specific situation where I can do that with Raishin and Greg around because some attacks of mine can eat through Greg’s defences. It suggests that I was alone in that dream

But it’s just a dream. Why am I so bothered by it? I get a similar feeling from it as that dream with Hablena. It didn’t turn out to be real, kinda, but she did fuck me up with all those curses and I feel like an event like that will happen.

I uncurled and woke Nilah.

We’re going on an adventure Nilah, aren’t you excited?

We went downstairs and ate something. Is Jyno still sleeping?

Hey slacker! Get up! Nilah get him!

Nilah radiated some frost magic and ran upstairs. I heard a commotion not long after.

“Hey what the? Nilah!” I heard Jyno making strange sounds and a yell.

Nilah ran down the stairs and jumped into my lap. Jyno was in hot pursuit and his hair looked strange.

He pointed at Nilah. “Your fox froze my hair gel while I was putting it in!”

You’re an elf, why are you bothering with hair gel anyways?

“It is important to look good at all times!”

I like your hair, it looks cool, haha!

“Not funny! I will be done in a bit!” He wanted to grab a peach but hesitated.

Those are real, don’t worry.

He bit into it, confirmed it was a real peach and went back upstairs.

I heard some commotion in the village. Did someone invade the village? Couldn’t they wait until after we escape?

Jyno finally got ready and I opened the door. I found myself at the point of a sword and pink purple eyes were staring me down. I forgot that this happens when I meet elves for the first time.

“Are you the Silver Torrent?”

Huh, Elliana? You look a bit different, what’s going on?

“Elliana is my sister, answer me!”

The Silver Torrent is not home, he went out to do grocery shopping, we’re his maids.

I tried to leave my door but Elliana’s rude sister kept pointing her sword at me.

“We don’t have maids in this village.”

Oh really!? Shit! Jyno, we go scammed! We need to file in a report to the elders!

The sword got closer to my throat. “You’re the Silver Torrent, right? Teppei did tell me that you would react something like this!”

Teppei? The ancient relic? Wait so you’re… uh oh! Jyno, we need to go now!

Nilah turned into a sword and attached to my hip, I grabbed Jyno and teleported to Greg’s house. I saw Elliana’s sister in front of his door.

Huh? How did you get here before me?

She turned around but this time she looked like Elliana.

You’re Elliana, right?

“Yes? Who else?”

Your sister who greeted me with the tip of her sword.

Elliana’s expression changed. “Leefa is here? What does she want?”

The Silver Torrent, her mentor, the ancient relic, seems to have sent her.

“Oh, this is not good, she probably wants to fight you. We need to go now. Greg!” Greg came out in all of his slowness and I felt someone locking on to me.

Right, time to get Raishin!

I grabbed them with my tails, dodged an [Air Slash] and teleported into Raishin’s bedroom. He was sleeping of course.

Didn’t you guys clean up his house recently? Why is it a mess? And why is there a pile of burnt pants in that corner?

I don’t know… He told me a god had disguised himself as his pants but he also said he killed the god. He wasn’t sure though so he interrogates and burns all his pants that don’t respond.

Fantastic…

I took a pair of pants out of my dimensional pocket and swapped clothes on him.

Elliana shot some arrows through the window and directed her attention to us. “Let’s go to the northeast of the village! I have a passage that will bring us outside the barrier without alerting the elders!”

Will it alert Bywen?

Elliana nodded. I sighed and teleported to the northeast while Greg slapped Raishin awake.

Jyno was still fixing his hair. “So, Elliana, what is the deal with your sister?”

“She is battle crazy… nobody likes to fight her.”

She had to come today… I wish I could use my overpowered teleport but that only works when I’m alone…

Overpowered teleport?

Yup, cuts travel time to 0.

So, you became even faster…

It is useless in battle because opponents can hit through the illusion layer making my illusion uncertain and it doesn’t work well for short distances.

“So where are we going?” Jyno asked as he put more hairgel in.

We’re going back to the crater!

We slipped out of the barrier and I went southeast.

Hey Elliana, I have a question.

“Hmm?”

What is wrong with your sister?

I pointed to the back and her sister was using some skill to chase us. She wasn’t nearly as fast as me but I won’t be able to leave her sight with how fast she is going.

“She…has no friends…”

You’re her sister, right? Can’t you be her friend?

Elliana shook her head. “Some things are impossible even for me.”

Alright! Ladies and gentlemen, I would advise you to keep your tails, limbs and ears close by. I won’t be responsible if one of those get lost.

I used [Accel Step] but I felt a strange sensation. All the weight fell off.

My body and everyone were rolling and tumbling over the ground at subsonic speed. Talking about bad timing. Greg and Elliana used nature energy and elvish magic to recover from this blunder and put us to a halt.

I should have seen this coming; this is on us…

“My hair!”

But Elliana’s hair is a mess too and you don’t hear her complaining.

I felt a tug and returned to my body. My body felt fine despite that fall. I got up and got met by the tip of a sword.

“Fight me.”

No.

“Are you afraid?”

Yes.

“Afraid to lose?”

Yup!

“Won’t you be ashamed that a woman is better with the sword than you?”

Nope, you deserved it, now can we go?

“Why aren’t you getting provoked?!”

Oh, were you provoking me? Sorry. Try again!

Elliana’s sister stomped. “You’re not changing your answer!”

Nope, you deserved it, now can we go? Oh wait, you said something different this time.

“Are you messing with me!?” She said as bloodlust started to pour out of her sword.

Yup!

I dodged sword slashes. They had a lot of power behind them, they weren’t as refined as Ancient Relic’s sword but the speed and power behind them was real. I remember what he used to say, old fart is a technical fighter, I am too but this chick focuses on power. Something I don’t want to deal with while sword fighting.

“Stop evading!”

Ok.

I stopped evading and she stopped her sword before she cut me in two.

“Why aren’t you taking out your sword?”

Because that’s when you will get serious.

“Ugh! Ellie, who is this guy?” She pointed her sword at Elliana.

It’s bad manners to point with a sword…

“Uhm, he is Agnis, my friend, these are Greg, Raisin and Jyno. Where are your manners?”

“I’m Leefa Seorwynn, the inheritor of the Sword Saint title!”

Ha! I bet Agnis could kick your ass! That title belongs to him! Raishin said proudly as if he was bragging about himself.

Raishin really? You’re supposed to help me not make things worse…

“I see, so you truly believe that eh? My mentor said that the two of us should fight it out for the title!”

I concede, you win. You can have it. Let’s go guys.

“Wait! Why won’t you fight me!?”

Did you see what just happened? My spirit left my body. I’m in no state to fight you and I’m not interested in the title so there’s no need for me to fight you.

“But I want to fight you…”

Maybe when my problem is solved.

“Then I will help you! What is your problem?”

I facepalmed.

Elliana gestured for us to head off “Just leave him be sis, he doesn’t want to fight you.”

“Shush Ellie, your big sis is talking!”

Wait she is older? I thought Elliana was older…

“Being older doesn’t mean that you’re more mature!” Elliana said with a look that could kill

Oof, a critical hit.

“You!” Leefa pointed her sword at me. The sword looked familiar. “What is your problem? I will help you with your problem and we will fight afterward!”

I turned around.

Hey ‘You’ answer her.

“I am talking to you!”

Wow look at that guys someone whose worse in remembering names than I am.

Just answer her question…

Well, my name is Agnis and currently I’m working on a multifaceted problem. I will need to gather crystalized leyline energy, mix it with Ichor Pneuma and then create spirit bones and finish the last components of the body of the spirit vessel. Then I will have to create the magic circuits and eventually bring all those together with alchemy. Then to transfer the spirit guardian into the vessel and address the issue with snapping spirit tethers. So, if you help me with all that I will fight you.

She pointed her sword at Elliana. “Ellie what is he saying?”

Elliana sighed quite audibly to indicate her annoyance. “He is saying that he’s busy and doesn’t have time for you…”

Or that…

“So, he won’t fight me… how about make a magic sword for me?! This sword here was made by him. It’s so light but also strong. Why was it even that cheap? It deserves more!”

Oh, so that’s why I recognize it! And well, uh I just charged the minimum I could for it.

“Don’t you want to become rich!? How about this! You become my personal blacksmith and I will make you rich! I can be your Sugar momma!”

Hey Elliana, what the fuck is wrong with your sister?

“I told you; she has no friends…”

Don’t you think this is the reason why she has no friends?

“That and she never holds back with her words or in combat.”

Leefa walked over to Jyno. “Hey, you’re quite hot, want to be my boyfriend?”

She doesn’t hold back indeed.

We started walking and Leefa chased us. “Hey! Wait for me!”

So, isn’t this going to take forever if Agnis can’t carry us?

Hmm, we never had this problem.

“I have a solution! We can use my kite!” Elliana threw something in the air and it turned into an enormous leaf. 2 vines dropped down from it. She jumped and grabbed on a vine and climbed up. She gestured us to do the same.

Someone hold Agnis!

Huh?

Jyno grabbed me and jumped up and grabbed the vine.

“Hey! Make sure to distribute your weight!” Leefa was lecturing us but everyone here knew that I weighed next to nothing.

“Jump on sis or we’re leaving you behind! You know what? How about you just stay behind!”

“But this will be unbalanced!” Leefa pointed at the vine with Jyno, Elliana and me. Greg and Raishin’s side seemed heavier though.

“Agnis weighs next to nothing, stop complaining and hop on!”

Jyno, Elliana and I were on one side and Raishin and Greg on the other side. Leefa jumped on the side with Raishin and Greg but that side became the heaviest.

“Huh?”

“I wish my sister would listen to me…” Elliana said.

I have never seen her like this.

Leefa jumped on our side and it was somewhat balanced.

So, 3 elves and Agnis are still lighter than Raishin and me…

Elliana used [Verdant Gale] and we glided east with the wind.

Hey Elliana, mind if I steal this skill? I think I’d be very compatible with it.

“Sure, I will make a kite and a glider for you when we return.”

Ooh! I wasn’t one too!

Do you even know how to use one?

Of course not! Elliana will teach me!

“The least I can do for you after you thought me lightning magic.”

“Wait, Ellie you can use lightning magic now? You make your big sis so proud!”

I’m noticing some tension between the siblings. I wonder what Leefa did for Elliana to act like this. But that’s not my business.

We need to go a bit more south.

Elliana adjusted the wind and corrected our course.

Hey guys, I have had the same strange dream a lot lately. How about you guys?

“I’m sleeping well.” Jyno was still styling his hair…

So, well you even sleep when you should be stirring stuff!

“I’m also sleeping quite well. What kind of dreams do you guys have? Greg had told me his.”

In my dream I’m about to destroy a whole area because someone I don’t know, died.

I dreamt of the perfect chick but I have no idea who she is.

Some strange creature attacked us and there was not much we could do about it.

“Somehow those dreams suit you guys… So, it keeps returning? That is strange. Do your races have something with dreams?”

I did not know the answer to Jyno’s question.

No clue.

As far as I know, we don’t.

Everyone looked at me because I didn’t react.

Uhm, I don’t know but I had another persistent nightmare that more or less came true so it might be something, let’s hope it’s just a bad dream…

We could see the crater in the distance.

“Whoa what happened here? It didn’t look like this the last time I was here!” Leefa was looking at the crater turned into a jungle with a lot of excitement.

“Does your sister live under a rock Elliana?”

“Her head is the rock…” I tried to holding my laugh. I will remember that one.

“Groaah!”

Raishin keep your stomach under control we will eat when we land.

Hey! That wasn’t me!

I know, I was just hoping it was your stomach…

A strange large bird was heading toward us. It had 2 ugly heads and 3 wings.

Do you think that is the cousin of the PB?

It surely is ugly enough for it…

“What are you guys talking about?”

Long story… Elliana can you put us on the ground?

“On it!”

But the fake PB had different plans and used its wings to create an updraft and sent us to the sky.

Air combat, eh? I got this!

Jyno grabbed me tightly. “No, you don’t have this if your spirit leaves your body, you’re toast!”

Right, Raishin go!

I can’t fly…

Is anyone proficient in air combat?

Silence.

Ok Jyno make sure you don’t drop me. Who wants to fly?

“Me!”

I didn’t expect Leefa to volunteer. I connected to the air leyline currents and used [Howling Updraft]. Leefa let go of the kite and drew her sword.

I ‘accidently’ knocked Jyno’s hair into a mess. “Hey easy with those movements!”

Sorry.

Raishin kept throwing lightning at the Fake PB but kept missing. To his defence the wind was strong and he had to avoid hitting Leefa.

Raishin, can you teleport to her and save her in case my spirit leaves my body?

Ok.

I used [Pressure] and dropped the Fake PB out of the sky. It recovered but Leefa had closed in and cut off one of its wings

“Why is my sister so stupid… she cut off the only wing it doesn’t need to fly…”

That decision was questionable yeah…

Well, she will have another chance. Jyno, don’t drop me.

I used [Blender] on the Fake PB but I missed because Jyno almost dropped me. I was aiming for one of its heads but I took out one of its wings and it started to fall. Leefa went after it by using her wind magic and cut it in half.

Well, that is one ugly bird less.

That was a cool cut.

I used [Howling Updraft] to get her back up to the kite. It was a bit difficult because I couldn’t move like I normally did.

“Whew! That was new! Do you guys always do things like this? Can I join you guys?” Leefa said looking quite refreshed.

“Absolutely not!”

We decided to stay out of this and let the siblings fight it out.

Something about Leefa always looking down on everyone and getting bored of people easily and leaving them behind. We arrived at the crater and the siblings were still fighting. My spirit slipped out of my body but there were no consequences. I tried to mend some spirit tethers while we descended.
