Chapter 34
Chapter 34: Taro Bubble Milk Tea:
(Saturday, 2 PM)
After lunch, Qin Luo first registered the copyright for the song “One Smile Becomes a City” at the Patent Rights Bureau. Then, he strolled to a commercial plaza and stood under the shade of a tree, daydreaming.
Before long, a graceful figure appeared, snapping him out of his daze. His slightly unfocused eyes refocused on the girl approaching.
She wore a plain white dress with a blue ribbon tied around her waist, forming a cute bow that highlighted her slender figure. A gentle breeze blew, ruffling her flowing skirt and lifting her sleek, carbon-black hair.
Under her bangs, her face was coldly beautiful, her eyes wandering like a serene pool, searching for something.
Finally, their eyes met.
The girl slightly curled her lips into a faint smile, adding a touch of warmth to her otherwise cool demeanor.
She ran toward Qin Luo but slowed down after a few steps, feeling it was unladylike. She walked the rest of the way, arriving in front of Qin Luo and softly said, “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
[You have gained Strength +1]
[You have gained Painting +1]
[You have gained Gaming +1]
[You have gained 30,000 yuan]
Qin Luo stared at her for a moment, seemingly examining her outfit today.
Just as Ji Yan started to feel uneasy under his gaze and was about to speak, Qin Luo said, “It didn’t take long, just half an hour.”
Ji Yan pursed her lips and was about to apologize when Qin Luo asked, “Did you put on makeup?”
Ji Yan looked up at him, a hint of excitement flashed in her cool eyes.
This was her first time going out on a date with a boy, and it was her who had asked him out. She was very nervous about it.
After messaging Qin Luo the day before, she had been extremely anxious until he replied with a simple “I’m free.” Only then did she feel a huge weight lifted off her shoulders.
So, she invited Qin Luo for coffee this afternoon, essentially a disguised date.
Qin Luo’s positive response delighted her so much that she stayed up late, researching what to do on a date.
However, the advice she found online wasn’t very reliable.
Some said to hold hands while shopping.
Some suggested kissing during a movie.
Others went straight to suggesting a love hotel!
Ji Yan was left speechless by these suggestions and decided to play it by ear.
At least one piece of advice seemed useful: wearing makeup.
Online sources said that showcasing a girl’s charm in many ways, including enhancing her appearance, could increase her attractiveness and make men more captivated.
Ji Yan had always been confident in her looks, which contributed to her current personality.
But thinking about her date with Qin Luo made her inexplicably insecure.
So, she secretly used her mother’s makeup and put some on for the first time.
Being inexperienced, she struggled with it, and took a long time to get it right.
By the time she was done, it was almost time for their meeting, so she quickly applied some eyeshadow and lipstick before rushing out.
She feared Qin Luo wouldn’t notice her light makeup, which would make her feel disappointed. To her surprise, he noticed immediately.
This made her very happy.
“You noticed?” Ji Yan asked brightly.
“It’s hard not to.” Qin Luo pointed to her eyes and lips, noting her eye makeup was too heavy and her lipstick too bright.
He said, “The lipstick is too bold. It doesn’t suit your style. You look better with lighter colors.”
Ji Yan wasn’t sure if he was complimenting or criticizing her, feeling a bit lost for words.
The atmosphere turned awkward.
“Let’s go to that café over there.” Qin Luo said, walking ahead.
Ji Yan followed with light steps, occasionally glancing at his tall and broad back, her mind filled with thoughts.
Upon entering the café, Qin Luo felt everyone’s eyes on them.
With Ji Yan’s beauty, this wasn’t surprising, but many of the looks were directed at Qin Luo too.
Since Ji Yan’s first ‘destruction of her image,’ Qin Luo had received several attribute rewards, frequently including Charisma +1, making him a super handsome guy who drew attention wherever he went.
Not only did women admire his looks, but even men couldn’t help but acknowledge his attractiveness.
Ji Yan’s beauty was undeniable, and standing together, they were like the brightest stars in the night sky, captivating everyone around them.
“That girl is so pretty…”
“And that guy is really handsome.”
“Are they celebrities?”
“Are they filming a show? Where are the cameras?”
Ignoring the stares and whispers, the duo walked to a window seat.
Qin Luo said, “You sit first. I’ll order. What would you like?”
Ji Yan was about to answer when she recalled a dating tip she read online. Though she found it strange, she decided to try it.
“Taro bubble milk tea, but no taro and no milk, just bubbles.” she said.
Qin Luo: “???”
Seeing Qin Luo’s confused expression, Ji Yan asked, “What’s wrong?”
Qin Luo asked in a peculiar tone, “Where did you learn that?”
“How did you know I got it online?” Ji Yan was stunned, then immediately blushed and lowered her head in silence.
Qin Luo gave her a deep look and walked to the counter.
This woman learned something online but clearly didn’t understand its meaning.
Was she a clueless romantic?
Qin Luo couldn’t help but smile.
To be honest, it was… quite cute.
