After my divorce, I started to have good luck

Chapter 278: Meeting in Real Life

Unexpectedly, Chen Feng found out that Li Shengping actually meant what he said after drinking. The next day, he called to give him his niece's phone number, telling him to contact her, as he'd already informed his niece.

This left Chen Feng speechless. He didn't feel like reaching out, yet felt it would be impolite to Li Shengping and his niece if he didn't.

After hesitating for a while, Chen Feng decided to add his niece on WeChat by searching her phone number.

Her WeChat name was Basilia, and he left a message in the friend request saying "Introduced by your uncle."

And so, several minutes passed without any approval of the friend request, and Chen Feng lost interest.

Until evening, when Chen Feng almost forgot about it, the other party suddenly approved the friend request and initiated a "hi."

Chen Feng saw it but didn't reply immediately.

At that moment, he had just finished dinner with Sun and Wu and was sitting on the living room couch watching TV.

A dozen minutes later, as soon as the news on TV ended, Chen Feng got up, went upstairs to his room, while Sun and Wu continued binge-watching their shows in the living room.

Once upstairs, Chen Feng finally pulled out his phone and replied with "Hello."

The other party didn't respond right away. After waiting in the bedroom for two or three minutes, just as Chen Feng was about to shower, the reply finally came: [Hello, I'm Li Liqin, 28 years old, had two previous relationships, currently single. My requirements for a boyfriend are simple: firstly, must be a university graduate; secondly, must have good spoken English; and thirdly, can't be too dull, must have a sense of humor.]

Chen Feng was surprised by her directness and curiously opened her Moments on WeChat. Unfortunately, he saw nothing, evidently blocked by her settings. Her wariness was quite impressive.

Without seeing her photos, he had no idea what she looked like, which was a bit disappointing.

Nonetheless, Chen Feng had no intention of pursuing her; whether he saw her or not was inconsequential. If not for his connection to Li Shengping, he wouldn't have added her on WeChat in the first place.

After thinking for a while, Chen Feng straightforwardly typed back: [My name is Chen Feng, 30 years old. I actually already have a girlfriend. Our relationship is going well, and we have no plans to break up.]

The implication was clear: barring any surprises, this "matchmaking" between them was obviously a no-go.

However, Li Liqin responded with: [I know. My uncle told me that you saved him during a car accident last year. He said you're an outstanding young man, worth millions, and not bad-looking. Also a graduate of East Sea Institute of Technology. Your credentials match my dating criteria in many ways.]

Chen Feng was dumbfounded, thinking, what does this mean? You know I have a girlfriend, yet you still want to insert yourself?

After a long pause, Chen Feng finally sent: [So your point is??]

[It's simple, we can be friends and get to know each other. Let's attempt some interaction, maybe consider each other as backup options. Suppose someday you break up with your girlfriend? Wouldn't you agree? My situation is similar. Just give ourselves more choices.]

This Li Liqin was indeed a pragmatist, or perhaps very practical.

Though Chen Feng had no intention of considering her a backup, she suggested so, and regardless of his respect for her uncle Li Shengping, Chen Feng felt obligated as a man to display some grace.

[Your suggestion is hard to refuse. Let's find a chance to meet and officially get to know each other. Even if we can't be a couple, we could be just regular friends.]

[Sure, are you free now? I'm at Laiman Coffee on East Lake North Road, second-floor balcony drinking coffee.]

This woman was indeed impulsive, wanting to meet face-to-face right now.

Chen Feng had time to spare. At this time, he'd be in his room scrolling his phone, either watching short videos or reading novels, until Little Rui, or until eleven when he'd go to sleep.

Checking the time, it was just a bit past six-thirty in the evening.

Thinking about it, since he had nothing else to do, and he was curious about what Li Liqin looked like, he hesitated briefly before deciding to meet her. [Alright, send me the location; I'll be there in half an hour at most.]

Not long after, she sent the location along with a simple [I'm waiting for you].

Chen Feng didn't send any extra messages, stood up, washed his face in the bathroom, tidied up his hair, then headed downstairs to leave.

"A friend asked me out; I'm stepping out briefly, will be back soon."

Chen Feng informed Sun and Wu, who were watching shows in the living room, and then left directly.

The two women exchanged a glance before continuing to focus on the TV.

The Laiman Coffee was about a ten-minute drive from Chen Feng's place. After parking the car and arriving at the balcony on the coffee shop's second floor, roughly twenty minutes had passed.

Chen Feng looked at a few tables on the balcony and quickly homed in on one. The reason was simple; only one woman sat at the table, her back facing him, making it hard to see her face, but the back view seemed pleasing: a bun-style hairdo, wearing a white light wool cardigan on top, and a black fitted skirt below, with bare long legs and no stockings.

Her posture was straight, with narrow shoulders and a slender waist. At the moment, she had one hand on the coffee table, resting her chin, looking sideways at the dazzling night view of East Lake, completely resembling a scene of a beauty gazing at scenery.

Just from the back view, this woman deserved at least eighty points.

Chen Feng walked right over, naturally sitting opposite her, naturally taking her in.

She was indeed a beauty, with an oval face, apricot eyes, willow-leaf eyebrows, a dainty nose, cherry lips, and fair skin. Her appearance scored at least ninety points or above, seemingly not inferior to Wu Mengting.

This was truly rare since Wu Mengting was the most beautiful woman Chen Feng had seen so far, yet this woman was surprisingly comparable, which was unexpected.

You could say Li Shengping wasn't lying; his niece was indeed a stunning beauty.

However, Li Liqin looked very young. She claimed she was 28, but seeing her in person, she appeared at most twenty-three or twenty-four, even carrying an air of a student.

Seeing she was just as curiously observing him, Chen Feng smiled and initiated, "I'm Chen Feng. Hopefully, I didn't disappoint you. I may not be debonair, but I'm somewhat handsome."

Upon hearing this, the woman couldn't help but smile with a teasing expression, gently saying, "Your introduction is nice, but too bad, not my type."

Chen Feng was momentarily stunned, then felt a bit awkward. He hadn't expected to be eliminated immediately upon meeting her; it was quite embarrassing. Internally, he felt somewhat agitated, thinking Li Liqin lacked social grace.

After all, he traveled this far for the meet-up, just sat down, said merely one sentence, and faced direct rejection; clearly, there was a lack of respect from the other party.
