He picked up his phone and saw it was a call from Qin Zhen. This guy usually wouldn't call if nothing was up; they didn't keep in touch much without reason.

As expected, as soon as he answered, he heard Qin Zhen say, "Fengzi, I need an urgent favor. You need to come over right now."

"What's going on?"

"Xue Lin is going crazy just because I met Ning Wei for a meal yesterday. When she found out today, she came over to stir up trouble. It's too much."

Chen Feng said speechlessly, "Why are you dragging me into your mess? Would it help if I came over?"

"The issue is Ning Wei is here too. They just got into a fight, and Ning Wei with her skinny arms and legs is no match for Xue Lin. She got thrown over the shoulder pretty hard by Xue Lin. Now Ning Wei wants to call the police."

Chen Feng was first shocked and then found it somewhat amusing. Imagining Ning Wei being tossed over by Wang Xuelin struck him as oddly humorous and exciting.

The two of them could be considered a face-off between the current girlfriend and ex-girlfriend, or even the ex-girlfriend versus the ex-ex-girlfriend.

But clearly, Ning Wei was no match for Wang Xuelin who had been in the military, so in a real-world match, she'd only get beaten up.

"How did Ning Wei end up with you?" Chen Feng asked the critical question.

"It's a long story, just come over. Before you come, give Ning Wei a call to calm her down. Otherwise, I'm in big trouble."

Qin Zhen himself was a cop, and now his ex-girlfriend Ning Wei wanted to call the police on his current girlfriend; how absurd was this? If this got out, he'd be humiliated at work.

After grumbling, Chen Feng hung up, then called Wu Mengting to briefly explain Qin Zhen's situation, and told her where Qin Zhen's new place was, asking her to hurry over.

About ten minutes later, both of them arrived at Qin Zhen's new place around the same time.

This was a high-rise residential building, just a few minutes drive from Qin Zhen's office, on the ninth floor.

They met up at the entrance of the complex and went inside together.

A few minutes later, they arrived at Qin Zhen's new apartment door, which was open.

Chen Feng shouted at the door and then walked in.

"Finally you're here. Come in quickly."

Qin Zhen had been waiting in the living room and immediately jogged over to greet them when he saw Chen Feng and Wu Mengting.

In the living room, sitting on the couch were Wang Xuelin and Ning Wei, one on the left and one on the right. Chen Feng was speechless to see Ning Wei wearing one of Qin Zhen's oversized T-shirts.

Chen Feng had a suspicion earlier, and seeing the scene confirmed it. No wonder Wang Xuelin blew up and threw Ning Wei over her shoulder.

How was he supposed to mediate this? If it were any other woman, she likely wouldn't let it slide easily either, not to mention apologize.

This kind of messy situation was something Chen Feng really didn't want to get involved with, casting a stern look at Qin Zhen.

Qin Zhen smiled back awkwardly and pleadingly.

Qin Zhen hurriedly introduced his "girlfriends."

"Mr. Chen, Mengting, you're here." Ning Wei stood up quickly to greet Chen Feng and Mengting.

While Wang Xuelin kept sitting there with a sour face, showing no respect even to Chen Feng and Mengting.

The scene was awkward for a moment, especially for Qin Zhen who was internally frustrated. Wang Xuelin's lack of courtesy toward Chen Feng was like a slap to his own face.

Besides Ning Wei who found joy in their misfortune, the rest felt a headache coming on.

Qin Zhen, feeling cornered, looked at Chen Feng for help with great concern.

What the hell is this? This clearly has nothing to do with me!

Though Chen Feng felt powerless to complain internally, facing Qin Zhen's pleading gaze, he had no choice but to help him out.

"Alright, Wang Xuelin!" Chen Feng shouted unreservedly, causing Wang Xuelin's crying to subside, knowing well the close bond between Chen Feng and Qin Zhen. She might be harsh to Qin Zhen making a mistake, but not to Chen Feng. Besides, she had her pride.

"Xue Lin, honestly, I'm an outsider and it's not my place to say much about your issues with Qin Zhen. But since Qin Zhen asked me to help and seeing the situation now, I can only tell the truth.
