After my divorce, I started to have good luck

Chapter 256 Just Playing

Liu Ying was adaptable and decisive, as shown by how she went straight to a hotel room when she reunited with Chen Feng after a long separation.

So, when she realized she couldn't move into No. 8 Villa, she settled for moving into another villa E06 that Chen Feng owned in Red Villa Bay. After ending the call with Chen Feng, she packed her luggage at home in half an hour and moved in right away.

By the time Chen Feng received her call again, she was already standing at the gate of No. 8 Villa with her suitcase.

Chen Feng couldn't say much about it, only marvel at how bold the former class belle was. However, recalling how she once lost her temper at him in class, criticizing him harshly in front of all the classmates, it was clear she was never a quiet girl. Even if she seemed soothing and gentle on the surface, she was never a weak girl at heart.

After receiving her call, Chen Feng came out of the villa without giving her a cold shoulder or saying anything unpleasant. Instead, he acted like a gentleman by helping her with her luggage and directly taking her to the E06 Villa.

After opening the villa door, Chen Feng said to Liu Ying, "No one has lived here for a while, so I'll call some cleaning staff in a moment. You can choose any room you like, but won't you feel scared living here alone? Of course, if anything comes up, you can call me, and I'll come over if I can."

Looking at the large duplex villa and hearing Chen Feng's thoughtful words, Liu Ying's previously stifled mood eased somewhat.

"I might feel lonely living alone, but not scared. Besides, my aunt's house is in this neighborhood, and you're not far away. But are you really letting me live in such a big villa by myself?"

Even though this villa couldn't compare to No. 8 Villa, its location was actually better than her aunt's, and the interior looked newer and classier.

If it weren't for the comparison with No. 8 Villa, she wouldn't object to living here. Of course, the main issue was cohabiting with Chen Feng.

"For now, it's just you living here. Moreover, if you want to bring someone to stay over, you must get my permission first."

Such a straightforward statement from Chen Feng instantly dampened Liu Ying's previously good mood: What does "for now just you" mean, do you plan to have others move in later?

Liu Ying grumbled inwardly, but outwardly she dared not say anything, instead pretending to act coy and asked, "Can I occasionally let my parents stay for a few days?"

"Of course, that's no problem. But aren't you worried your parents will find out about my current situation?" Chen Feng asked teasingly.

Liu Ying feigned helplessness and said, "There's nothing I can do about it. You were the one who originally told them we lived in No. 8 Villa. When they find out about the other women around you, it should be you worrying, not me, right?"

Chen Feng said indifferently, "I don't have to worry either. Worst case, I'll just tell them the truth, that you knew from the start I had other women. I never lied to you."

Though true, Liu Ying was certainly displeased hearing this, and she subtly changed the subject, "Alright, call the cleaning crew. This house is too big for me to clean alone."

"Okay."

Chen Feng promptly made a call to the property management, asking them to send over three cleaning ladies.

The property service here was quite satisfactory, though the fees were also high.

After the call, Chen Feng opened the first-floor windows to let some air in.

As the house had a stale odor, the two returned to the villa's entrance, chatting while waiting for the cleaners.

"How much did you pay for this villa back then? The decor seems quite new," Liu Ying asked casually.

Chen Feng answered naturally, "The villa's previous owner bought it as a wedding house, but they divorced within a few months and sold it to me. I got a bargain, spending just over ten million."

This price was about what Liu Ying had guessed, so she wasn't too surprised, but she still admired Chen Feng's ability to make money. Such a villa was something most people their age could never afford, yet Chen Feng not only bought it, he had another even more expensive one. And apparently, he earned it all himself.

This alone set him apart from 99.9% of their peers, making Liu Ying even more inclined to secure her future with Chen Feng. She regretted even more that she was blind to have passed up such a promising prospect back then.

"I never dreamed you'd become this wealthy. Even though I didn't know at first you had so much money, I have to admit I like the wealthy you more now. But how did you make all this money? Was it really all from stock trading? I know your family is from the countryside in Lu City, and shouldn't be wealthy. So you didn't rely on your family, right?"

Chen Feng wasn't offended by her questioning. If she hadn't asked, that would be more suspicious.

He answered honestly, "At first, I won the lottery jackpot. Then I started trading stocks and made some more."

Liu Ying was skeptical but felt Chen Feng's success story was too straightforward, lacking any twists and turns.

"You don't believe me?" Chen Feng asked with a smile.

Liu Ying candidly shook her head, "I believe you made money from stocks, but the lottery jackpot I find hard to believe, the odds are too low."

Chen Feng chuckled and didn't make a fuss over it.

Liu Ying shifted the topic, "Can I join you for lunch there?"

Chen Feng glanced at her and said, "Come if you don't mind their glares."

Liu Ying considered the battle prowess of Sun and Wu, compared to her own, and ultimately decided against provoking them any further. Otherwise, she would only suffer.

She now understood, her standing in Chen Feng's heart couldn't compare to Sun and Wu.

"Sigh! Never mind then," Liu Ying sighed in defeat.

Chen Feng smiled, and just when he was about to say something more, the three cleaning ladies arrived, dressed in uniform and looking professional.

After giving them instructions, Chen Feng left Liu Ying to oversee them and took his leave.

Liu Ying watched Chen Feng walk away without looking back, feeling quite deflated.

The only consolation was that Chen Feng had let her live in such a large villa for free and even gave her thirty thousand for pocket money every month.

For another divorced woman, such a set standard of being kept by a wealthy man would feel very satisfying.

But Liu Ying was honestly discontented because she once could have had Chen Feng all to herself, along with everything he had. And she couldn't believe that Chen Feng, who was once crazy about her, now felt nothing for her.
