Chapter 27 - Second Batch (1)
After An Yun expressed his gratitude to Xiao Cui, her cheeks immediately turned red, and she looked particularly shy.
An Yun didn’t pay much attention anymore. After he spoke, he turned to look at Lu He, who was not far away, waved to her, and asked her to come over to help. “Come here, and I’ll teach you to make lip balm with Xiao Cui. If you don’t understand anything along the way, you can ask Xiao Cui.”
Although Lu He was young, she was a calm girl. When she heard An Yun’s call, she paused briefly, then came to An Yun, saluted him, and said slowly, “Yes, fulang, please give me instructions, I will also ask sister Xiao Cui for advice as to not make any mistake.”
Seeing that she was so mature at such a young age, An Yun couldn’t help but smile. “Don’t be so nervous. It’s not a difficult thing. There are only Xiao Cui and me here. You can treat her like a normal family member.”
Lu He raised her head and glanced at An Yun, responding hesitantly, though her figure didn’t relax much.
Seeing this, An Yun didn’t continue to press her. After all, some people were born with a calm personality. Forcing them to change was impossible. “Okay, let’s get started! It just so happens that the sun isn’t bright right now, so we can do it more relaxedly.”
“Yes,” Xiao Cui and Lu He responded in unison.
Xiao Cui looked at the young and mature Lu He, feeling a sense of crisis in her heart.
In fact, if it weren’t for An Yun’s health, she would have preferred to help the fulang by herself, so that his attention would be more on her and he would think more highly of her.
Unfortunately, the fulang was in poor health, and she couldn’t be so selfish.
Xiao Cui sighed inwardly, watching An Yun prepare to handle the flowers, and quickly followed him to help.
So, the three of them found a small chair, gathered around a big dustpan, pulled off the petals, and scattered them in the dustpan.
The bright red colour slipped from An Yun’s white and slender fingertips, like the occasional red plum embellishment on the white snow, making the beauty of his hands even more apparent.
It should be a very boring task, but An Yun did it extremely seriously. His fingers played with the petals at almost the same speed, which made it seem like reading a comic book.
Maybe it was a bit boring to pull the petals. Xiao Cui was doing the work with her hands, staring at An Yun’s hands, and gradually became stunned.
“Xiao Cui, what do you think of my idea?”
It wasn’t until An Yun’s voice came from the side that she gradually came back to her senses. When she met An Yun’s questioning eyes, she was still a little confused.
When An Yun saw that Xiao Cui didn’t listen to him, he wasn’t annoyed at all. He just repeated what he said and added, “I think I can make the colour of this lip balm a few more shades. What do you think? Each individual’s skin colour is different, and the effects of using different colours are also different. I want to come up with more shades to give everyone more room to choose.”
Xiao Cui heard it clearly now and said quickly, “I think fulang’s idea is very good. Usually, when we go to the lip balm shop, there are also lip balms of different colours and shades for sale. This way, people who want to buy them will have more options.”
For this reason, when An Yun asked Xiao Cui to buy more rose flowers, he also told her to buy some petals of other colours.
When An Yun heard Xiao Cui say this, he felt a bit more confident and became more efficient in his next work. Next, what they had to do was to come up with the first batch of lip balm with different colours.
Xiao Cui, next to him, felt relieved when she saw that An Yun stopped asking questions and did not continue to desert the process.
While An Yun led Xiao Cui and Lu He in their tasks, he controlled the scale of the work and was careful not to overwork himself like last time.
Otherwise, every time he got sick, he would owe a favour to the masters of Zang Mansion. If he wanted to leave in the future, it would be difficult to repay it.
Thinking of this, An Yun thought on the young master’s visit, which he had not seen often since he recovered from his illness. He thought to himself, after finishing his work later, he would prepare a few more desserts to present to the young master.
It was said that the young master liked the ice cream cake last time, so he could make this kind of pastry again.
While An Yun worked, he searched his mind for food videos he had watched in his previous life, sifting through suitable desserts and preparing to write them down later.
.
Zang Ya came outside with his servants and saw his father riding a horse, looking ahead and wondering what he was thinking.
Zang Ya’s father, Zang Ke, was now in his mid-forties. He should be at the age of slowly losing his shape, but because he had practiced martial arts all year round and the Zang family did have good gene, he appeared to be only in his early thirties at this time.
Zang Ya stepped forward and said to Zang Ke from below, “Father, I am ready.”
Zang Ke then retracted his gaze, looked down at Zang Ya, and asked quietly, “Have everything been packed?”
Zang Ya nodded, “Yes, it’s packed.”
Seeing his unchanging mood, Zang Ke felt a bit uneasy and continued to ask, “This trip will be a bit dangerous. Are you prepared?”
Zang Ya looked up at Zang Ke, with confusion clearly showing in his eyes, as if wondering why he was asking such a question.
He naturally knew that this trip was dangerous, but it wasn’t the first time he had followed his father on such an endeavour, so he knew the risks and benefits.
If he had been afraid and unprepared, he wouldn’t have followed. But now that he was accompanying him, his father’s questions seemed a bit redundant.
Perhaps Zang Ya’s gaze was too straightforward, and Zang Ke understood the meaning in his eyes without words.
