Chapter 18: The Forsaken Depths
The cavern started to break, and Celeste barely managed to keep her footing as the stone beneath her cracked .Sending waves of raw Aether rippling through the air.
From the abyss below, something was rising.
Celeste's pulse pounded. The Enclave commander stood still, his eyes locked . The black sigil on his forehead pulsed.
Then, a massive, skeletal hand—formed of obsidian and wrapped in Aether—emerged from the depths.
A figure dragged itself upward, its form a twistedof shadow and divinity. Chains, carved with glyphs, still bound its limbs.
Celeste , wanting to run. But she held her ground, tightening her fists.
The entity's hollow gaze turned toward her.
"You… are not of the Pantheon," it rumbled, its voice said "And yet, you stand before me."
Celeste forced herself to speak. "Who are you?"
The being exhaled, and the air itself seemed to bend under its presence.
"I am What the gods wished to be forgotten."
Celeste swallowed hard.
The commander finally spoke. "This was not meant to happen." His fingers twitched, and Aether flared around him "You were meant to remain sealed."
The chains shattered completely.
Celeste barely had time to react before a wave of pure, unrestrained energy exploded outward. slamming her into the cavern wall.
The commander, however, stood .
"You would defy me, Enclave hound?" the entity sneered. "You are marked by their chains. A servant of the ones who bound me."
The black sigil on the commander's forehead burned brighter.
The entity laughed, a sound like a collapsing world.
Aether surged.
The entire cavern began to collapse.
Celeste barely had time to react as the entity lunged, its enormous form moving faster than something of its size should be able to. The commander met its strike with a flash of golden light
Celeste gritted her teeth, forcing herself to move.
If she was going to survive this She Needs to think of something fast!
