“Thank you,” said Kophi as she took the form, “Someone will be over to collect your laundry soon.”

Mizu pushed up against the counter, “hey, um Kophi? Why are your breasts out?”

That done, Mizu followed her mother out of the tower and they started walking the town. Most of the people near the tower were girls at the moment, many of whom were busy. Things were changing though as they moved away from the hub of the town, walking towards the beach.

As they drew closer to the beach they started spotting more men, who were often busy carrying heavy objects or working with tools. They even passed three guys working together to carry a really long and thick-looking wooden beam. It had to be five Mom’s long, maybe a little longer. What the beam was for, she didn’t know. Not that she could stop and ask. The beach was also quite lively, but most of the people here were busy building, as the shoreline was a popular site for new homes and even a few shops.

If she looked out to the shore, she could even see a few fishing boats on the horizon. Mizu had seen the small boats exploring the waters for fish several times and even seen the fishermen and fisher-girls bringing back their hauls. Mom said their work was important for feeding the fledgling town.

It wasn’t much longer before they reached their destination. A frame of wooden beams, sat at the top of a hill overlooking the beach. The view here was great, and she could even see the forest when she looked the other way. A path had been paved leading up to a half-built porch through which one could enter the building. Although there were plenty of holes in the walls. Not that shocking given it wasn’t built. Looking back the way she came, she could see the river wasn’t too far from her house either. Some guys were building a dock next to the path. It was one of several built up against the river, some of them private, others for public use.

Almost as soon as the group walked up the path an older man emerged from the structure. He was huge and towered over everyone here. He spotted Mother and smiled, “Mirai! Glad you could make it, I haven’t seen you in a couple of days, is everything alright?”

“I can see that, I was starting to get worried.” he let out a breath, “Anyway I have things mostly framed out, but before we proceed. I need to make sure everything is the way you want it.”

“Sure, we can go over the plan. I’ve been thinking about a few changes,” said Mother

“I haven’t yet started on the roof and the original plan only called for one floor. Are you sure about that? I can pretty easily fit a second floor. For you I can even do it for ninety percent off my usual rate.”

“Oh? That sounds lovely, make it nice and big. We can move the master suite up there, and Mizu’s bedroom.”

“That will get you some space, and I can easily fit a couple of bathrooms up there for you two.”

“Nah, I want just one bathroom but make it bigger and add access on both floors.”

He nodded along, as Mom started working on changing the plan. Mizu turned to start walking the house. Getting a feel for how it was now.

When she came back over a few minutes later, Mom was leaning over the table with the blueprint as the man said, “That could work, but it won’t leave much room for the laundry.”

“About that, I’m thinking of taking it off the plan and you can put the extra space into the bathroom.”

“Quite the bathroom, but I think I can get it done. Normally I’d charge a few million for it, but I am feeling generous. I’ll do the bathroom for free.”

“What are you doing with the bathroom?

Mom smiled, “I’m making it bigger, with a huge tub, a big vanity with multiple sinks, eight toilets, upper and lower access, steam heating, customizable filtration and recycling for the bathwater, a tub heater, and even heated tile. The tub is going to be in the middle of the room on the lower level, there will be two toilets and a couple sinks on the upper level. With most of the floor space on the upper level unused to give a good view of the lower area. Railing will be in place for the look and safety.”

“Oh that sounds really nice. I’d love to be able to actually stretch while in a tub.”

“I know right! Totally worth giving up on a private laundry, besides the communal is a really good deal anyway. They even come by to collect it for you.”

Mizu just nodded, she’d take Mom’s word on that. Mom always did that stuff anyway, so if Mom thought it was a good deal it probably was. “So what about my room?”

“You’ll have a nice big bed, a huge walk-in closet for your toys and clothing, your own heating system and built-in spare beds for when you bring friends over.”

“Oh! It’s going to be big!?”

“Yep! And the space down here where I was going to put our rooms, will be a huge activity room where we can play with our friends. It will be heated with padded floors, huge built-in monitors and a sound system. We can play games, socialize, or have sex in there. I also found some space to make the kitchen a little bigger, and set aside space for an office slash library.” she pointed to a spot near the door, “and over there will be the guest rooms.”

Mizu smiled as she listened. It sounded like they were going to have a great house.

Ruthia stepped out of her lab and glanced towards the hill. It had been a long time since the visitors had gone down. Were they alright? The thought rattled around her head for a moment or two before a young girl bumped into her leg. She looked down with a smile, “Hey sweetie, try looking first.”

“Sorry!” she said, before quickly running off. Ruthia watched her run for a bit, and as the girl was getting out of sight, she started wheezing a bit. A sign she was running out of breath, but she kept going. It seems the girl really was insistent on pushing herself even though she was down a lung. 

She shrugged and then turned the other way. While she was wondering about the strangers, she wasn’t going to go looking for them just yet. It hadn’t been so long that she would need to send search parties to make sure they were alright. If they still weren't back by tomorrow then she would start getting people to check the tunnels. They’d only been down there for the better part of a day.

Taking her time, she walked down the camp walk paths and soon found her way to the Hub. Walking inside, she was greeted by the lady at the counter, “Hey Ruthia! How did things go with Tama?”

“Really good, her babies are growing even slower. I think they will stop growing soon.”

“Oh, sounds good. Think you will be able to start the next phase soon?”

“Soon, I’ll see in a week.”

“Sounds nice. On a different note, are you here for a male, or just to check on the males in the back?”

Ruthia walked up to the counter and said, “I am feeling a bit frisky, but I think I will check on the males first.”

“Sure thing, right this way!”
