Chapter 180: Recruitment Notice Reaches Somar!
On top of that, Sylph and Raymond's team had recently gained a new member, a priest, making it even more unlikely that the duo would consider joining another group at this stage.
It was clear that Raymond, the dual-class adventurer, and Sylph, the 'Explosion Magician', were on track to form their own team. The combination of an 'Explosion Magician' and a dual-professional was not only powerful but incredibly rare, and this sparked a great deal of discussion among adventurers throughout Somar City.
Both 'Explosion Magicians' and 'Dual-Class' adventurers are extraordinarily uncommon, which only added to the intrigue. As news spread, the entire city began to take notice of this unique duo, eager to learn everything they could about them. Among the rumors that circulated, one stood out, before Raymond awakened his second profession, he had been ridiculed by the adventurers in Wittes Town for teaming up with Sylph. They believed Raymond was overestimating his abilities. When he carried a 'warrior' sword, they mocked him further, assuming he thought that simply carrying the weapon would allow him to awaken the 'warrior' profession.
But when the Adventurer's Guild confirmed that Raymond had, in fact, awakened the 'Warrior' profession and was now a dual-class adventurer, those who had mocked him were silenced. The adventurers in Somar City found it highly amusing, and they shared the news with great enthusiasm.
Soon after, it was revealed that Raymond and Sylph had been promoted from 'Porcelain Level' to 'Bronze Level' adventurers in less than a month, an achievement that left adventurers in Somar City in awe of their rapid progress. But then, news from Wittes went quiet, especially after the town was thrown into turmoil by the 'Black Wind Group' bandits.
It wasn't surprising to the adventurers of Somar City. The 'Black Wind Group' leader was a 'Gold Level' bandit, and his followers were a mix of 'Silver' and 'Bronze Level' bandits. Raymond and Sylph, both newly promoted to 'Black Iron Level,' were in no position to take on such a formidable threat, and it made sense that they wouldn't venture outside the town during such dangerous times.
However, once the 'Black Wind Group' was finally wiped out with the help of the 'Gas Team', Somar's adventurers began to remember Raymond and Sylph. They were no longer just a pair of talented adventurers, they were now a team that had survived through some serious challenges.
It wasn't long before the news reached Somar that Raymond and Sylph had added a "priest" to their team. This didn't come as much of a surprise, but it did raise a few eyebrows. After all, with their potential, it was no surprise that a priest would want to join such a promising team. Priests are known for selecting their teams carefully, usually opting to team up with those who show the greatest potential.
So, when the five 'Silver Level' adventurers in the tavern discussed the pair, they couldn't help but speculate.
"Are you saying that if Luna can't find a team in Somar City, she might end up teaming up with Raymond and Sylph in Wittes?"
"Yes, it's quite possible! After all, one of them is a dual-class adventurer and the other is an Explosion Magician. Even if their other talents aren't extraordinary, everyone agrees that they have the potential to reach 'Gold Level', if not higher."
"Don't forget, Raymond's talent for learning skills is incredible! Rumor has it that he mastered his first 'fighter' skill less than twenty days after awakening his 'fighter' profession. And when he awakened his 'warrior' profession, he had already learned a 'warrior' skill in less than a month!"
"Right, Raymond's skill comprehension is pretty terrifying. I doubt many people in history could compare to him… Of course, it's hard to make comparisons with someone who's a dual-class adventurer."
"Anyway, if Luna can't find a suitable team in Somar, the most likely scenario is that she'll go to Wittes and join Raymond and Sylph. After all, while everyone agrees that Luna has 'Gold Level' potential and could even reach 'Platinum Level,' it's still just a probability. Raymond and Sylph, on the other hand, are already considered to have the potential to become 'Platinum Level' as well."
"But don't forget, Raymond's two awakened professions are 'Fighter' and 'Warrior,' and Luna is also a 'Warrior.' That's a conflict in professions!"
"That's true," one of the adventurers said. "After all, not every team can afford to have two fighters like the 'Wind Squad'. If a regular team tried to stack two fighters, it would only backfire."
At that moment, another adventurer suddenly chimed in, "You guys seem to have overlooked something. Luna isn't just a warrior, she's also an Ice Wolf! Among demi-humans, very few can awaken their professions, but even those who haven't are still strong fighters. Do you know why?"
"You mean the innate skills of the Ice Wolf Clan?" someone asked, catching on.
Demi-humans have a much lower probability of awakening a profession compared to humans, but they often possess unique innate skills, just like some monsters. In fact, many demi-human races have multiple innate skills. Of course, learning these skills isn't easy, only true geniuses among demi-humans are able to comprehend and master them.
"Exactly," the adventurer replied. "From what I know, the Ice Wolf Tribe has a talent called 'Muscle Softening'. This skill doesn't need to be activated; once mastered, it makes the muscles soft and more concentrated. Not only does this increase strength, but it also keeps the body's muscles from becoming too bulky, which would slow down movement. I don't know if any of you have seen Luna in action, but I have. Despite being a warrior, she's got a surprisingly slender build, and her limbs are much more agile than those of most warriors. I suspect she's mastered 'Muscle Softening'."
"Ah, now I remember!" one of the adventurers exclaimed. "I heard Luna was getting a lot of attention from the major adventure groups because, aside from her natural talent, it seems she's also mastered a 'natural skill'!"
"Yeah! An adventurer told me he saw Luna fighting monsters once. He said that even though she's a warrior, her movements were as nimble as an assassin's! I used to think she might have learned the 'Flowing Wind' skill, but now it seems she's probably mastered the 'Muscle Softening' skill from the Ice Wolf Clan!"
"That makes sense now! If Luna really has this skill, she's more than just a basic 'warrior'! She's a perfect fit for a team like Raymond's!"
"Alright, alright!" The captain of the 'Silver Level' team, who had been listening, finally spoke up. "All of this is just speculation for now. We can't say for sure where Luna will end up. Besides, Raymond's team in Wittes may not even accept her. From what I hear, what they really need right now is an archer."
The news that Arya, the archer, had recently joined Raymond's team hadn't reached the adventurers of Somar City yet.
Just then, an adventurer dressed in leather armor and carrying a longsword ran up the stairs, his face brimming with excitement. "Ah! Ah! Ah!" he exclaimed, rushing toward his teammates, who were eating breakfast.
Seeing his excitement, his teammates quickly asked, "Did you get a great commission?"
Adventurers living at the Adventurer's Guild would often send someone to the lobby in the morning to check for high-reward commissions and grab them if possible.
But the adventurer who had just returned from the hall shook his head. "No, no! It's not that! Someone came back from Wittes and brought a 'recruitment letter'!"
"A 'recruitment letter'? What's so exciting about that?" His teammates exchanged confused glances.
"This isn't just any recruitment letter!" the excited adventurer shouted. "It's a recruitment letter for Raymond's dual-class team and Sylph, the 'Explosion Magician'!"
"What?! You're saying Raymond and Sylph are recruiting teammates?"
"Yes! That's right!" the adventurer replied, still breathless. "The dual-class Raymond and the 'Explosion Magician' Sylph are officially recruiting teammates!"
The news hit like a bombshell. Not every adventurer in Somar City had heard of Raymond and Sylph, but most had. Both were well-known figures, and the fact that they had formed a team only made them even more of a focal point for attention.
One blond adventurer scratched his head in confusion and asked, "Wait a second, are you sure about this? Aren't Raymond and Sylph in Wittes? When did they sneak into Somar City and post a recruitment letter?"
It's not that the adventurers didn't believe the news, but with the fame of the dual-class Raymond and the "Explosion Magician" Sylph, the moment they arrived from the town of Wittes, word would spread across Somar City almost instantly. The adventurers in Somar were far too eager to get the latest scoop, especially when it meant they could flaunt their insider knowledge and enjoy the surprise of others.
After all, adventurers loved the thrill of bragging about their heroic feats, whether it was slaying a powerful monster or pulling off an amazing move. They'd happily boast about how they defeated fierce enemies, often embellishing the story for dramatic effect.
"No! No! No!" The adventurer who had just run up from the guild hall immediately shook his head, trying to clarify. "Raymond and Sylph haven't come to Somar City, they're still in the town of Wittes…"
"However," he continued, "they did post a 'recruitment letter' for teammates at the Adventurer's Guild in Wittes yesterday. A fellow adventurer who came back from there brought the news. Then, the Adventurer's Guild here in Somar got wind of it and, well, they helped us post it in our own recruitment column!"
"What? The guild here actually helped post it?" one of the adventurers exclaimed in surprise
