Chapter 10 Bloodline Chains

ACC Chapter 10 Bloodline Chains

A roar caused visible ripples within space as all the particles in its path shifted to accommodate its passage, allowing it to breach into my ears, reverberating with fury and rage, coupled with a tiny bit of pride.

Then, every single puppet had multiple holes drilled into them as strands of brown fur hardened and elongated, becoming deadly spikes coated with fire attuned spiritual energy particles that seeked to destroy everything they came into contact with, by trying to burrow into their bodies with the ferocity of a lion.

Corrosion. That was another way in which a battle could be concluded. Simba's attack that had injured me had had the same effect, causing my wood attuned spiritual energy to clash ferociously with the intruders, like white blood cells battling against external threats. That was why the recovery had taken such a long time.

Even now, I could feel the wood attuned spiritual energy particles embedded within the demon's ferociously clashing with his flame attuned energy.

With a beckon of my hand, I pulled back the now useless puppets, which merged as one enroute towards me, transforming into one giant sphere, with the areas of clashing spiritual energy all pushed to the surface, after which they were discarded by sacrificing the potions, thereby shrinking its size.

That allowed Simba the respite needed to tend to his wounds. His crimson rimmed pupils gazed at me through the mask of the armor, containing rage and a myriad of other inscrutable emotions. But even then, there was a flicker of cunning within the eyes.

A moment later, his body expanded to the point that it surpassed my size by ten times. Then the joints of his limbs reversed, with his head turning into a lion head with a majestic mane that lit up in the sun. The very image was glorious.

With an exertion of force, the spiritual energy platforms that had flickered into existence underneath its paws, shattered like glass, dispersing into the void even as the massive Simba turned into a blur, appearing right in front of me, his powerful jaws opened wide in a move to devour me.

My reaction speed kept up with his as my armor absorbed the large sphere in front of me, transforming into a giant humanoid, whose hands trapped the jaws of the lion, even as I was pushed back in the void from the force of Simba's momentum.

Before I could come up with a way to extricate myself, a gathering of fire elemental spiritual energy within the massive lion demon's mouth caused my heart to skip a beat.

Even as I acted fast, the beam of concentrated flame was still faster, incinerating the lower half of my giant puppet, effectively robbing me of a large amount of energy through the destruction of the wood spiritual energy particles within.

I had managed to drag Simba away from my preparations, specifically the now blooming flower.

The petals had already started to unfurl. They were of a vibrant red crystalline hue and they were giving off such a powerful energy signature that they had surpassed my puppets.

This was a trait of wood spiritual energy...absorption! Instead of wasting my energy, the plant had taken in the abundant spiritual energy emitted by the Sun and bloomed, leaving me with the task of controlling its activation.

When the first petal to unfurl reached a 90° angle against the plant stem, it disintegrated, turning into millions of particles that started to spread outwards, like the big bang.

Simba, noticed them of course, breaking away from me and retreating for a distance, yet not far enough as he was curious about what was ultimately going to be exposed.

He flared a ward over his giant body, protecting himself from the red specks in the space.

But I didn't sit back and relax at this time. Instead, with a myriad of gestures, I released a burst of spiritual energy, which spread like a tide, carrying with it,  spore-like seeds, which started sprouting in space, turning into bizarre trees that had no roots, instead sprouting as many branches as they could, which grew at a fast speed, melding with others that they came into contact with, turning the area within ten kilometers into a bizarre environment.

These plants even connected to the main stalk of the flower borrowing some of the massive energy within, soaring in growth to the point that if I hadn't deactivated a certain gene, they might have turned into an entirely large entity, infesting the entire solar system!

Simba hadn't yet acted even though he was trapped within the cage, but I wasn't one to dither.

Just by taking a step, my form, which had returned to that of a normal human merged with the plant, and with just a thought, popped out with a long spike stabbing through the demon's chest.

I had been targeting the bloodline chains within his heart, yet his body somehow managed to shift out of the way even though he had been caught in a hallucination.

This sensitivity to danger was going to be a massive pain! Plus, demons had another troublesome ability...

I galvanised the concentrated wood spiritual energy within the thorn, causing its surface that met with flesh to grow tiny vine tentacles that started to try and invade Simba's body, only for his cells to fight back with zeal.

Demons were way ahead of us humans in the field of biology. And no one had the courage to dispute that fact. You could even say that their entire society revolved around playing around with genes.

And that was why his cells reacted to the danger without any conscious control from the brain, taking on multiple different forms to combat the infiltration.

With a decisive move, I broke the spike, then aimed for the new position of the heart, only to once again be thwarted by the demon's instinctive movements.

For now, he was still within the illusion, but I had no doubt that he could break out any moment.

I let myself be absorbed into the wooden branch behind me while activating all the wood spiritual energy particles within the branches closer to the giant demon, facilitating the growth and release of sharp spikes that sped towards the demon.

Unless he woke up, this omnidirectional attack would kill him. Though, with us being at this level of power, I didn't hold much hope.

As the sharp spikes headed towards the demon, my mind was weighing the pros and cons of killing Simba.

I had already managed to peruse a great deal of intelligence about the things that had happened during the past five years while walking from the farm to the hangar.

Simba had become a demon king. What did that signify? It meant that he had become the new clan leader of the Mpologoma clan, only under one demon, the Emperor of All.

A demon king killing another demon king was a small matter that wouldnt even attract that bigshot's attention. But when a human did it, the consequences of that might even escalate into outright war.

Actually, Simba's appearance here was in violation of many laws, but with his current power, all he would get away with would be a slap on the wrist. In human society, he would have to pay the government a substantial sum, while in the demon civilization, his punishment will depend on the results of this battle.

I knew all this because there had been historical precedents.

The president had been contacted. That was the most important thing.

Before the attacks could connect with the huge demon, a powerful aura leaked out of Simba's body, one that contained such concentration of particles that everything within ten meters was returned to the state of mere particles, whether that be the large tree branches, or the floating hallucinogenic fragments of the crystalline petals.

My reaction speed hadn't been slow in the least as I had simply transferred myself to another branch further away, with my upper half popping out while the rest was embedded within the wood.

My eyes and divine sense were locked onto his location, where a powerful aura was distorting light itself, while a gigantic image of a white lion with golden flames licking its its fur had appeared in the void, overshadowing even the already gigantic flower.

Just by laying eyes on it and the terrifying billowing pressure, was enough to give me the clue that allowed me to identify what had happened.

Simba had just activated an ability on his bloodline crystal chains within the heart.

This was a power capable of going toe to toe with deity arts. The bloodline crystal chains were the demonic version of our cores, while that image of the white lion was the equivalent of a nascent soul, though with diminished capabilities when compared to us humans'.
