Chapter 153: Evil Xuan Awakens [1]
Just then, the disciple overseeing the teleportation formation glanced over, voice cold and measured.
"Take this outside. If even a single piece of wood in this hall breaks, that will be the end of your cultivation path."
The words weren't loud, but they struck like a hammer. The tiger-eyed disciple stiffened instantly. Grinding his teeth, he gestured irritably at Yu Xuan.
"You. Outside."
Yu Xuan tilted his head and stayed rooted to the spot. He didn't budge an inch.
A vein popped on the tiger-eyed man's forehead. "Hey, aren't you getting a little too cocky?"
"Just finish it quickly and come back," one of his companions urged, clearly entertained.
"Don't make too much noise," another added with a smirk.
With a long sigh, Yu Xuan finally moved. He strolled toward the exit, hands clasped behind his back, as if heading out for a walk rather than a duel. The tiger-eyed disciple followed, cracking his knuckles with audible menace.
The moment Yu Xuan stepped outside, the scenery unfolded before him — lofty peaks rising into the clouds, disciples flying to and fro on swords pr even normally flying, laughter and chatter echoing through the air.
Compared to the lonely quiet of the Elemental Heaven Peak, this place brimmed with life.
It was almost… relaxing.
But he preferred his quite atmosphere.
Or at least it would have been — until a fist roared through the air like a boulder hurled by a furious beast.
BOOM!
The tiger-eyed disciple didn't wait for words or warning. He lunged forward, a vicious punch aimed straight at Yu Xuan's face.
Gasps erupted from the nearby crowd, though it was nothing new.
But Yu Xuan didn't even glance at him. His hand rose lazily, catching the blow in his palm. The impact cracked the air, yet his stance didn't waver by a single inch.
The tiger-eyed disciple froze, eyes widening in disbelief.
'Damn… I picked the wrong opponent.' he thought.
He had only wanted to vent his frustrations by crushing a weakling. Yu Xuan's aura had seemed ordinary, just a Foundation Establishment junior.
But now, staring at his trapped fist, he realized how badly he had underestimated him.
CRACK.
A sharp sound echoed as bones strained under Yu Xuan's grip. The tiger-eyed man let out a muffled groan, his face twitching. He tried to yank his hand free, tried to retreat—but it was as if he were shackled in iron. His wrist refused to budge.
Forcing a smile through clenched teeth, he said smoothly, "Junior brother… it seems there's been a misunderstanding. How about we talk?"
Yu Xuan's expression didn't change. He squeezed harder, a faint smile playing at his lips.
"I'm really curious," he said casually, as if discussing the weather. "If I kill you right now… will your senior brother come running to save you?"
The tiger-eyed disciple's heart sank. He was famed for his physical strength, yet his bones were shattering in another's grip. Rage boiled inside him, but he buried it deep. His face stayed calm, unreadable.
"I truly believe this is a misunderstanding," he repeated, voice almost pleading now.
Yu Xuan finally released his grip, stepping back with deliberate leisure. "If you try something funny, I'll snap your neck. Oh? You're in the Core Formation realm, aren't you? You probably won't die from that, right? Just… suffer."
His words were light, almost playful, but they sent a chill down the spine of the tiger-eyed man.
Yu Xuan wasn't trying to win a fight — he was branding fear into his name.
Back in the Yu Clan, he was known as the flower of the clan, admired for his looks. Here, he wanted to shed that image. When he first got here, he still had the reputation of a beautiful male. He wanted to be remembered differently.
Like a Fearsome entity.
The tiger-eyed disciple cursed inwardly. 'Shit… why did it have to be like this?'
Looking at Yu Xuan now, he didn't see a mere pretty boy. This was someone who might be on par with his senior brother, perhaps even a hidden disciple of an Elder. Best not to provoke further.
Forcing out a laugh, he said, "Haha… junior brother, you jest. I only acted rashly because of orders from my senior brother."
"Oh? And what orders are those?" Yu Xuan asked, voice soft but eyes sharp.
"It's… private. Perhaps we can—"
"Really?" Yu Xuan's gaze cut into him like a blade.
The disciple faltered. The watching crowd had already dispersed after Yu Xuan crushed his hand, not wanting to be dragged into trouble. No one would help him now.
He sighed and spoke carefully, "Senior brother is hosting a guest… the guest of a junior sister he's trying to court."
Yu Xuan tilted his head. "I see. And why are you running errands for him?"
"Senior brother is a direct disciple of an Elder. His status is high."
Yu Xuan's smile faded.
'Right… this is a cultivation world. Hierarchy rules everything. I almost forgot.'
But still—
"Even though that doesn't explain why you tried to fight me," Yu Xuan said evenly, eyes narrowing.
Cold sweat broke out along the tiger-eyed man's temples. He clenched his jaw but didn't dare to argue.
Yu Xuan waved it off. "Forget it. What's your name?"
"…It's Jian," the tiger-eyed man replied cautiously.
"Good. Jian," Yu Xuan continued, his voice almost casual, "have there been any new disciples joining the main peak lately?"
"I don't know about all of them," Jian admitted, "but as for those who came directly to the main peak… there's one in particular with outstanding talent. Rumors say she's the newest disciple of the Peak Master herself. Of course… they're just rumors. But it's true she often spends time with the Peak Master's direct disciple."
Yu Xuan's brows lifted slightly. "A disciple of the Peak Master…"
That would make her status equal to his own. After all, he too was personally chosen by a Peak Master.
Jian gave a strained smile. "Apparently, she's the one senior brother is trying to court."
