Chapter 226: Green snake under the green grass
"Sister, what do you think?" a young teenager asked an older and more mature woman. They were both in a beautifully decorated room, filled with warmth and elegance.
"The fight for the throne has gotten more intense. Before, Vaelen was Theron's only opponent... but now Darius is coming back," the older woman replied with a smile.
Yes, these two were Seraphina and Lyssandra.
"Yeah... I hope my brothers don't end up killing each other," Lyssandra said sadly.
"I hope so too... but honestly, we have no say in this," Seraphina replied, gently patting her little sister's head.
"Okay," Lyssandra murmured, pouting slightly. Then she asked:
"What about Caius?" Just as she spoke his name, a sudden pressure clamped down on her head.
"Ouch, ouch! Sister!" Lyssandra yelped until Seraphina finally let go.
"Don't talk about him, okay? He's just a bastard," Seraphina said with clear disgust.
"Well, I agree... but he's still our brother and—ouch! SISTER!!!" Lyssandra groaned in pain.
"Fine, okay," she relented as Seraphina gave a firm nod.
"So, who do you want to support? Your brother Vaelen, or someone else?" Seraphina asked.
"I don't know... probably whoever you support," Lyssandra replied with a shrug.
"Nooo, they won't allow that. I'm already considered enough . You, on the other hand, have the legendary Hollowind family behind you, little girl. Haha!" Seraphina laughed as Lyssandra pouted.
Yes, although Seraphina controlled the underworld and wielded significant power, her younger sister's value far exceeded her own—
because Lyssandra was the blood daughter of the legendary Hollowind family.
"Well, don't be sad. Let's go out for a drink first," Seraphina said, and Lyssandra nodded.
"Go dress up," she added, and Lyssandra dashed happily out of the room.
Inside the room, Seraphina looked in a certain direction.
"Monitor Caius for me," she ordered. A shadow trembled in response.

Outside Seraphina's room, Lyssandra was walking to hers, lost in thought.
"Who should I support...?" she wondered, grinning.
"Help me monitor Caius," she suddenly said. Space rippled, and a terrifying presence vanished into the distance.
"I'm curious... what is elder brother doing?" she thought as she entered her room.

Jake awoke, his head throbbing with pain. He heard growls and howls. As he opened his eyes, he found himself surrounded by massive, five-meter-tall beings—
Demons.
Jake slowly stood as the demons gazed at him.
Then... they simply left.
Jake looked down at his body. He was still in his alternate form, but his aura…
Early Galaxy Realm.
And it was already approaching the middle level.
"I did it?" Jake asked himself, stunned.
He had truly broken through. Soon, he'd be in the mid-Galaxy realm.
A grin formed on his face as he looked at the retreating demon army.
He should probably join them—but suddenly, he sensed space trembling. A familiar spaceship appeared.
"Seems it's time to go back... am I being monitored? How did they know I've awakened or broken through?" Jake wondered as he entered the ship.
Unlike before, the spaceship didn't warp straight to the Dreadborne Organization. Instead, it drifted slowly through space. Confused, Jake looked outside… then it hit him.
This was a destroyed galaxy.
Corpses of countless beings floated in space. Planet debris… shattered stars… silent ruin.
"We did this?" Jake muttered, stunned.
Then the memories hit—
The war.
The cries.
The pleas.
And then... him devouring souls.
"Souls..." he whispered, his mouth watering.
He stood still for several minutes, processing everything.
What would he do now?
Half an hour passed.
Finally, Jake smiled.
He saw it all clearly now. He understood who and what he had become.
He could feel it—an unfamiliar but intoxicating energy.
Element.
The element of darkness.
"Hmm... I should get ready," Jake muttered, transforming back into his human form.
His clothing morphed into an orb, which he placed gently on a table.
Naked, he strolled through the hallway, shifting into his alien form of his race. He sat by a window, gazing at the bleak yet beautiful space outside—the aftermath of destruction.
He grinned as the memories of what humans had done to his race surged back. A deep hatred brewed in his heart.
The spaceship began accelerating—but unlike before, it would take hours to reach the Dreadborne headquarters. This delay was intentional.
After all, the ship could traverse hundreds of universes in seconds… yet now it crawled, giving Jake time to sort through himself.

At the federation...
It was nighttime when Flora arrived at the Duke family residence.
She gazed at the still-lit mansion and smiled.
"Liya is back," Flora thought fondly.
Military guards saluted her as she entered. Inside, a grand feast was underway. Liya and their parents were enjoying dinner, laughing and chatting joyfully. The atmosphere was festive.
When Flora entered, the room seemed to light up even more.
"Oh, she's here!" the Duke exclaimed, rising to hug Flora. She laughed warmly.
"Mom, Dad, Sister... good to see you all! Haha, I almost thought Theron kidnapped you—I was about to beat him up!" Flora said playfully, raising her tiny fist. Everyone laughed.
She joined them, and they all enjoyed themselves until midnight.
********
Midnight....
Flora and Liya were in their room, chatting.
Suddenly, Flora asked:
"Sister... I've been meaning to ask. Caius is back, right?" Flora smiled as Liya nodded and blushed.
"He is," Liya said quietly, happiness in her voice.
"As I thought. She loves him," Flora mused inwardly, expression blank.
"Sister... why are you so happy? Have you forgotten?" Flora whispered in Liya's ear after looking around cautiously.
"You're Theron's betrothed wife," she said with a sly laugh.
"Fool! Then you be his betrothed wife!" Liya rolled her eyes as the sisters laughed together.
But after a moment, Flora's tone grew sad.
"Sigh... Sister, too bad we can't do anything about it," she said as Liya looked down.
"Maybe we can... maybe I can," Liya murmured with sadness. Flora gently hugged her.
"No matter what, Sis, I'm here for you—through good and bad," Flora said with a smile.
"Thank you," Liya whispered, enjoying her sister's embrace.
But Flora's thoughts were far from kind.
So she does have a plan… I'll get it out of her, then tell Theron. He needs to be careful of Liya and Caius. They might be plotting to kill him.
You had a pie at your feet—control of the Duke family and a marriage to the crown prince. But now… you'll lose everything. I'll be the true leader of the Duke family.
Flora grinned wickedly.
"Sister... this is soft and big," liya suddenly said, flora was startled.
Liya was groping her chest.
"You pervert!" Flora laughed, shoving her sister onto the bed. The two girls playfully wrestled, laughing joyfully.
