Abyssal Chronicles

Chapter 1088: Savior

1/10

Trial Space

Black Rose Family Territory - Sabelius.

What was once a verdant suburban area, like a paradise on earth, had been transformed into a fiery inferno. The land was scorched, with countless craters left by fierce battles.

BOOM!!!

With an earth-shattering explosion, pillars of flame shot up from the ground. Violent Shadow power surged through the heavens and earth. A massive beast formed from the combined Shadow power and raging fire let out a frenzied roar, instantly incinerating tens of thousands of treants surrounding Sabelius.

The destructive power was breathtaking.

However, after using this attack, Kalina gasped for breath like a spent arrow and fell to one knee. The crimson flames burning around her gradually dissipated. Without doubt, her Shadow power was depleted, leaving her too weak to maintain her released state.

"Lady Kalina! Are you all right?!"

After swinging his magic spear to repel two white figures, Xiao quickly appeared at Kalina's side, surrounded by black light.

Looking at the exhausted Kalina, Xiao's face became serious as he bit his lip.

"Damn it..."

The Black Rose Duke then cast a hateful glance toward the nearby hillside. There, dozens of elves dressed in white robes and carrying various magical weapons stood proudly, looking down on Xiao and Kalina with disdain.

"Looks like we're in real trouble now."

Xiao felt irritation rising within him.

After Yumo and the other mysteriously disappeared, Xiao had spent over a month searching for them until he was completely exhausted. Finding nothing left him deeply worried and more tired than ever before.

And then, of all times, strange spatial gates opened across the world. A group of bastards calling themselves Saviors poured into the Ancita continent, helping local resistance forces fight against them. They seemed determined to wipe out all Abyssal Demons in one fell swoop. Though they had repelled six or seven waves of these Saviors and captured over a hundred prisoners, the Black Rose Family members and their allied forces were reaching their limit.

He had to admit, these Saviors from the outside world were truly difficult to deal with. Not only did they have many powerful fighters, but they also possessed various special weapons.

Being able to repel them so many times already made Xiao feel quite accomplished.

Unfortunately, merely repelling them wasn't enough. Without stopping the Saviors from entering the trial space, this battle would never end.

Like today, these bastards had come again...

Sensing the powerful auras approaching from all directions, Xiao grimly tightened his grip on his magic spear.

After repelling so many waves of enemies, Kalina was nearly spent.

Well, though I don't want to use that technique, it seemed I have no choice now.

"Sigh..."

After taking a deep breath, powerful magical energy began to concentrate on his magic spear...

However, Xiao's gathering of magic power quickly caught the attention of the elves in the distance. A handsome elven man holding a magic longbow with two magical cannons floating behind him spoke with disdain.

"Hmph, still not surrendering? We're nothing like those elves on your continent. They were merely exiles from our tribe, while we are the legitimate pure-blooded elves. You think you can defeat us in one go? What a foolish dream."

As he spoke, the elf named Jamro let out several contemptuous laughs.

He had to admit, that Demon King Abyssal Demon who controlled fire was indeed powerful. She had repelled their attacks several times and sent hundreds of their people to the ICU. Similarly, this human was also impressive. Despite being just an ordinary human, he had defeated their elven elites multiple times in one-against-many battles.

But individual strength was ultimately limited!

Though they couldn't bring Level 9 or heavy weapons into the trial space, their endless reinforcements were enough to wear down these demons. Not to mention this time, Elder Navit had entered the trial space to suppress the Abyssal Demon forces.

Glancing sideways at the elegant and noble elven elder in the center of their formation who held a staff, Jamro was filled with confidence.

This time would be different from before!

Looking at Xiao's face and recalling his previous defeats, Jamro wanted nothing more than to grind Xiao into the dirt. Not only to avenge his humiliation but also to get revenge for his elven comrades on Ancita!

"Hmph, Xiao, I'll give you one last chance to surrender! You're human. You don't need to die alongside the demons."

"Sorry," Xiao smiled slightly, giving Jamro a mocking look without hesitation.

"I refuse."

"Hmph, stubborn fool. Don't regret it later."

After a cold laugh, Jamro turned respectfully toward the elder in the center of their formation.

"Elder, we can begin."

"Mm."

Without further words, the peak Level 8 named Navit raised his staff and tapped it on the ground! Instantly, pale green energy waves symbolizing the power of life rippled outward, enveloping the entire battlefield. The next moment, under the solemn gaze of Kalina and Xiao, the treants they had worked so hard to eliminate grew once again.

In an instant, thousands of treants surrounded Xiao and Kalina once more.

Unlike before, Xiao and Kalina no longer had the Black Rose Family troops or tens of thousands of Abyssal Demons with them. The injured troops had been emergency teleported back for recovery, and the demon hordes had been completely wiped out after several waves of conflict.

"Hmph, it's over."

Jamro smiled contemptuously, putting his hands on his hips as he prepared to watch the final battle.

He planned to record this last moment and show it to his elven comrades on the Ancita continent. Then proudly tell them...

"Comrades, I've avenged you!"

While imagining his comrades celebrating joyfully, Jamro cast a respectful glance toward the Third Elder who controlled the treants.

As expected of their elven elder, not only noble but also incredibly powerful.

Fighting until now, yet still having the ability to summon thousands of treant legions!

Amazing!

With the Third Elder here, how could they possibly lose?!

...

However, just as Jamro was gloating, a crimson light suddenly descended from the sky without warning, landing directly on Elder Navit's head.

Huh?!

What was that?

The next moment, "BOOM!!!"

After a huge explosion, the dense life force energy in the area suddenly dissipated.

As the smoke cleared, under Jamro's stunned gaze, a beautiful black silhouette appeared where the Third Elder had been standing. And their revered elder? He was embedded in the soil like a nail, with only half of his head above ground.

His once lustrous golden hair was completely gone...

"Elder! AAAAAHHHH!!!"

...

Several minutes later, Jamro, bruised and battered beyond recognition, was tied up alongside his elven comrades, all kneeling in a row. Before them was their once great Elder Navit who had led them against the demons. However, the elder no longer had his previous dignity. His exquisite robes were covered in dirt, his noble staff broken in two, and his hair completely gone, replaced by a bald head.

He lay there foaming at the mouth, eyes rolled back, showing none of the nobility that befitted an elf.

Why... why had things turned out this way?

Looking at the pitiful state of the Third Elder, Jamro felt like crying but had no tears left. He trembled as he raised his head to look at the black silhouette surrounded by Bloody Butterflies.

This... this Abyssal Lord wasn't supposed to be in the trial space anymore! Why the hell did she come back?! Who told me she wouldn't return?! I'm so screwed!

At this moment, abandoning the elegance and restraint expected of elves, Jamro cursed furiously in his heart.

But while cursing, Jamro suddenly felt his body tremble. It was as if he was being gripped by a giant abyssal claw, a suffocating coldness seizing his heart.

The next moment, Jamro realized in terror that the black-haired girl had turned her gaze toward him.

"So what were these elves doing? Coming to suppress us?"

The moment he heard these words, Jamro suddenly felt like he was watching Death beckoning to him.

"No, no we weren't!!!"

In his panic, Jamro no longer cared about dignity or principles. Driven by his survival instinct, this Savior squad captain chose to lie outright:

"We didn't come to suppress you! We, we, we were coming for friendly communication!!!"

Yumo: "..."
