Chapter 779: Her 1st of Act of Violence
Barely five seconds after they appeared in the airspace, Ryuk's fear came true.
Immediately, they were surrounded by five uniformed, muscular-looking Angels, who had them encircled in a tight formation.
"You have come into the vicinity of the Mundus Mansion without exclusive invitation, and hence warrant being arrested, under the Fourth Amendment of The Ammamoran Home Privacy Law!"
"Please save yourself the trouble, and do not resist," one of the guards shouted out loud, as they each took a single step forward toward them.
"Ha, haha," Ryuk called out nervously, waving quickly.
"I can assure you all. This is all just a mista—" he was still saying when,
SPLLLAAATTTTERRRR
Blood splashed right onto Ryuk's head, half his body instantly drenched in the golden liquid.
"Huh?" he exclaimed in confusion, turning his gaze upwards, and there he found it.
Right above Ryuk's head was a body that was none other than one of the guards surrounding them.
He was frozen mid-swing, his elongated eagle-like golden claws grabbing at Ryuk's skull.
But the claws never reached him, as right out from the guard's neck, a dark claw had torn through, covered in his golden blood, which was the source of the golden blood that had splattered onto Ryuk.
He paused in disbelief, stupefied at how this had happened in less than a second, and even the entire world paused in silence like him, too.
But a sound soon snapped them all back to reality.
BLEEEEERRRGGGGHHH
Golden blood sprayed out from the guard's mouth as his body was raised by Odette's claws and casually thrown to the ground like an annoying fly.
There was no need for more words, as all hell broke loose right after!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
Golden pillars of energy burst through the entire airspace as the remaining four guards flashed with speed toward Odette—whose grin widened until it reached her ears.
"Finally, some action," she said, both arms outstretched by her side as she threw her head back, her eyes glinting.
Beams of attacks, weapons, and arts blasted toward her from all sides, but she never moved an inch, opening her arms as if to welcome every assault.
And in the very next moment, it collided—
KAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
A powerful mushroom of energy exploded straight into the sky, drowning the unlucky Ryuk in its tempest.
It soon cleared, revealing only a single figure.
None other than Ryuk, who was currently coughing out his lungs, with a couple of cuts visible on his skin.
But the guards' eyes narrowed in confusion and alertness.
Their target was never the young man. He was just the unlucky stray.
But the one they had targeted was nowhere to be found.
"Looking for me?"The words resounded above, and they all instantly turned upward.
There, they found a figure lying horizontally in the air, both hands crossed behind her head as she hovered, like someone casually sleeping on a bed.
"How?" The gasp escaped their lips, but they reacted instantly, another wave of attacks blasting forth toward her.
Yet,
BLEEERRRRRRGGGGGHHHH
Blood burst from the lips of one of the guards.
He looked down at himself to see that the right side of his chest had a gruesome hole, where a dark claw was dangling out, his golden blood dripping down from it.
"Tch, DIIIIEEEE!" He shouted, ignoring his pain, and slashing his second claw toward Odette's head.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
SPLASSSSHHHH
Blood splashed into the air as an arm went flying into the sky.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Shockwaves exploded in a circular wave as a punch slammed into the guard's face, sending him crashing into the ground and vanishing into the abyssal crater.
Now, only three remained.
Wings tore out from behind them as they became phantoms of light, moving with terrifying speed.
But even with all their 'light-speed' and terrifying energy waves, before the grinning Odette, they all fell one by one, in seconds.
Their modes of defeat were all the same—
Odette's claws ripping through their bodies and tearing out the other side.
When she was done with the last of them, she appeared right behind Ryuk, her back to him.
And once more, her hand stretched out, grabbing at his shoulder.
Less than a millisecond, and space wrapped around where they both stood, and they disappeared.
All Ryuk felt was the world rapidly zooming by, and in the next moment, he was standing right on top of one of the open spaces of the mansion, where two men currently stood.
One of them was another guard, but this one stood at a shocking height of 5 meters, dressed in a golden uniform.
Though with a leaner physique, his body radiated pure brute strength, the entire space seemingly compressed by the weight of his existence alone.
But he stood obediently behind someone else.
An old man with a long white beard and hair that gently flailed to the breeze.
Odette's eyes locked on the man, and she spoke.
"Did you previously own this place?" she asked, her tone deadpan.
'Previously own?' Ryuk thought in his head.
Surprisingly, the old man replied.
"I'm Toriy Mundus, miss. And yes, the entirety of the building is in my name," he said.
Odette nodded.
"Good. Now I'm the new owner of the building."
"WHAT?!" Ryuk screamed out, but it didn't stop Odette.
"Tell everyone they have 30 minutes to evacuate, or they can just remain in here forever." She said casually, before turning her head and looking at a crater where one of the guards was slowly dragging himself out.
"Also, fix up those floor damages before leaving," she added, walking right past both the old man and the golden-clad guard.
Naturally, the guard moved when Odette reached his side.
He raised up his head, his firm hands, turning to monstrous golden claws, and then
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Successive shockwaves rippled through the air as his hand slammed down on Odette's shoulder.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
The sound of something being ripped rang out, and a moment later, a hand silently fell onto the ground, belonging to none other than the fearsome-looking guard.
Golden blood splashed down like rain, and Ryuk, the Old Man, and even the golden-uniformed guard all had their eyes widened in shock.
Odette paused afterward, turning to look at the old man.
He took in a deep inhale, settling his shock, before replying with his usual smile.
"30 minutes it is,"
He then turned to the guard.
"Yorito, repair the cracks in the garden and signal for all the workers to leave in 10 minutes."
"Then get the jet, and let's depart."
He gave absolute cooperation to Odette's words.
Just 15 minutes later, the entire building had been evacuated.
The guards, the cleaners, the chefs, the gardeners—
There was not a single soul left in the mighty Mundus Mansion, except for two people.
One who sat so casually on one of the mansion's open spaces, legs swinging around, as they looked at the garden below.
And the other, still reeling in shock, eyes locked onto the departing jet.
