Abyss Draconis

Chapter 424: It Ends

In the crimson red hall now littered with nothing but cracks rippling with waves of destruction all around.

There were two figures within, one on his knees, his eyes closed, head low, and another who stood before him.

Ice gathered over Ryuk's hand, the last vestige of mana he had left soon forming a cold ice sword, oozing with icy sharpness.

He readied his hands, preparing to slice off the head of the Warrior.

But then, as he raised his hand, it got stuck in place, and that for a time so long, the Warrior raised his gaze to Ryuk, finding his hands twitching above him, with the cold dagger yet refusing to move.

It was a sight that he couldn't understand, and it got even more bizarre when he watched Ryuk lower his hands down.

"I don't understand," Ryuk muttered beneath his breath, as the Warrior's gaze filled with confusion, as if asking:

What do you not understand?

"You could have run like I did. When I unleashed the Annunaki Oblivion, you could have chosen to run for it like I did."

"But you stayed, choosing to confront it head-on."

"You were powerful enough to cleave it in two, but then the resulting explosion was something beyond your control."

"Something you could have avoided if you had simply used the faintest bit of common sense, which is to run," Ryuk said, as the Warrior's gaze flashed before he scoffed mockingly.

"You know, the Devil might say I have committed a lot of sin and might want for me a dance in hell."

"But amongst my sins, he will never find one where I turned my back from any power whatsoever."

"Run? That doesn't exist in the world of I, Anatares!" he said, with more pride than one on his last leg. Ryuk's eyes flashed before he asked,

"Never running, huh? Was that what got you imprisoned here too in the first place? Refusal to run from a power which was obviously higher than you?" he asked, as Antares grinned.

"I do not run," he replied once more before his eyes steeled.

"Now end me," he said, about to close his eyes but waited as the ice dagger in Ryuk's hand disappeared.

"A warrior like you deserves to die in a battle with one that also never runs. Not in the hands of a cowardly survivor," Ryuk said as he stepped back from him, watching as Antares' eyes lit in confusion.

"But… if you refuse to end me, there would still be two beings surviving in here and you will be stuck like me, unable to leave, most likely forever," he said, but watched as Ryuk closed his eyes and then, hands stretched outwards—

'Activate Void Rift!' Ryuk commanded as the dark vortex opened up.

The Void Rift was a dimension he had received as part of the reward of the contract he signed with the Void Auras.

It was a world of its own, that he could stay in.

And so, he unleashed it, as it rotated in the middle of the throne room, standing heavily before Antares, whose eyes flashed in shock.

"The Gate to a True Physical Dimension!?" he asked in shock, and Ryuk simply ordered:

"Go in and wander not. I'll release you when I get back to the outside world," he said to him, as Antares' eyes flashed but then shook his head.

"It is impossible to escape here. Not even a gate to a physical dimension can override the laws that prevent me from escaping," he said, but watched as Ryuk moved, appearing beside him, before he picked up his neck, raising him up before flinging him straight into the Void Rift.

[New Presence Has Been Discovered to Be Entering the Void Rift][Presence Has Been Allowed Entry by the Will of the Void Rift][Does Host Really Wish to Place Entity into Void Rift?]

The system asked as Ryuk nodded his head.

[Subject Has Been Successfully Placed Within]

The system flashed as stood, watching as the Void Gate closed and immediately it did, his leg finally gave way.

His body collapsed to the side, his eyes rolling straight to the back of his head right after he reached the ground.

{Mission: Remain the Only Living Being Present in the Hall Has Been Successfully Completed!}{Congratulations Test Taker on Being Able to Complete the Mission}{You Will Now Be Transferred to the Accompanying Reward Room}

The loud voice that had sounded from the beginning sounded once more—albeit Ryuk was unable to hear it, since he had gone unconscious—but that didn't stop it, as a milky white light suddenly descended onto Ryuk himself, wound him up in a cocoon, and in the next instant, he faded away from the room.

The instant he was gone, the entire room began cracking apart like glass, before it exploded into itself, leaving nothing but a pitch-dark void.

_________

Far Away from Endearth…

In a world where the colours were never really constant—shifting eternally, as if never truly one itself.

At the peak of an incredible mountain whose tops reached into the clouds, yet the mountain's size alone would rival the entire size of Endearth.

The phenomenon of colour change continued even on the body of this mountain, as it shifted from red, to blue, to indigo, to violet, to dark, to white—never stopping, changing eternally.

There sat an anomaly in this ever-changing world.

A being who remained of a single colour: white.

He was dressed from head to toe in white, wearing nothing but an ordinary white long-sleeved shirt with a round neck and the same long-sleeved trousers. He wore no shoes, revealing his legs which were covered in bizarre arcane runes that released a milky white light.

Suddenly, his gaze opened up as he turned in a random direction.

His eyes, filled completely with white, seemingly looked into the far distance before a light flashed in them.

"One of the missions I set in a wild world has been completed. But yet, the anomaly I locked within lives still?" he said out loud—his voice sounding clearer than anything—and overheard by every living thing that exists in the world.

"Seems like an interesting individual has once more been born from a lower world…"
