Absolute Death Game

Chapter 119: Art of the Sword Heart

Silver Dragon Tower was a complex made up of three connected skyscrapers. The tops of these buildings converged more than a hundred meters in the air, forming a circular apex. This was the core of Silver Dragon Tower and the location of the upper echelons of the Qilin Group.

Qin Shimoon stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of an office at the top, her hands clasped behind her back as she gazed at the brightly lit Ginza Plaza below, lost in thought. Her reflection in the glass showed a contemplative face that, though beautiful, carried a certain military sternness.

A shadowy figure floated silently down from an air vent, materializing into a human shape on the floor. As the smoky surface dispersed, the figure became strikingly clear. The man in black looked at Qin Shimoon, who was staring out the window, and a slight smile crept over his lips. He moved slowly towards her, reaching out his hand to pat her shoulder, intending to give her a surprise.

But just as his hand was about to touch her, Qin Shimoon let out a cold snort, "You still enjoy playing these boring tricks, don't you?"

The man in black's hand froze in mid-air, and he let out an awkward chuckle, "I didn't expect you to notice me."

Qin Shimoon turned around, a teasing expression on her face, "Next time you try to play ghost, I suggest you come up with some new tricks; otherwise, your habits will be the death of you one day."

The man in black only shrugged and walked straight to the liquor cabinet, poured himself a drink, and took a seat on the sofa. He casually placed his legs on the coffee table in front of him.

Qin Shimoon sat down opposite him, "Tell me, what did you find out today?"

"A lot, to be honest, I think they're plotting something."

As he spoke, he picked up the remote control and pressed a button on the TV: "I think we should catch that news piece, look, this is it."

A beautiful anchorwoman was delivering a news report in a sweet voice.

"Our station reports that last night, Eternal Hall's body preservation center in City B was robbed. Three stored bodies were stolen, and the case is currently under further investigation."

Qin Shimoon glanced at him curiously, "Is that so strange? Death and disappearances are so common, what's the big deal about a few stolen bodies?"

"What's strange is the person who stole the bodies," the man in black said with a sly grin. "Was it that fellow called Bai Yunfei?"

Qin Shimoon was taken aback on hearing that, "Him? What does he want with stolen bodies?"

"You're asking me? Who should I ask?" the man in black replied. "Besides him, there were a few others who acted as well, but two were too vigilant and nearly caught me, it seems."

"Did they nearly catch you, or did they actually find you?" Qin Shimoon asked seriously. The man in black let out an awkward laugh again, "I'm afraid they have already discovered me, but they probably don't know who I am."

Qin Shimoon shook her head, "If they are really plotting something, they might guess who you are even without knowing your exact identity."

She walked slowly to the window, looking out at the scenery as if considering something, then suddenly turned and said, "If there's nothing else, you may leave."

However, the man in black didn't move immediately. Instead, he looked at Qin Shimoon with interest, "Aren't you going to do something? Or do you, like me, look forward to what's about to happen?"

Qin Shimoon did not answer his question and sat down in a chair by the window, looking out at the blurry stars, "Perhaps a bit of both, but that's not for you to know."

After the man in black left, Qin Shimoon took out her phone, hesitated for a moment, then dialed a number, "Hello, is this General Huo? I think our opportunity has come."

It was another Monday morning, and all members of the Green Dragon Group arrived at the computer room as usual. Like those regular office workers, they booted their computers, logged into the game, and chatted with acquaintances about their gains during the holiday.

However, this time their conversations seemed to contain hints and codes of some sort—exchanging glances that implied each one held a secret, yet also seemed informed of each other's secrets. To be precise, two were not included, Hua Yueying frowned as she heard Wu Tao and Yaoyao behind her discussing mastering some gaming techniques, but something didn't seem right.

Weren't they discussing very basic things? And didn't they take a day off yesterday? Why were they still talking about the game?

As she pondered, she glanced at the others again. For some reason, she felt everyone seemed to be hiding something from her.

Feeling rather gloomy, Hua Yueying left the computer room to get something to drink, only to find Li Chuang standing in front of the liquor cabinet, quietly speaking with Wang Yifan of the White Tiger Group.

When did these two guys start hanging out together? As she approached, the two had just finished their conversation, and Wang Yifan gave her a smile that wasn't quite a smile before turning and walking away.

"What were you guys talking about? I didn't even know you and that Wang Yifan were friends," Li Chuang said with an awkward shake of his head, "We're not friends, strictly speaking we're just—'colleagues'." As he spoke, he hurried off.

What a pair of oddballs, Hua Yueying thought to herself, as she took a bottle of iced tea out of the fridge and started drinking.

Carrying her drink back to the computer room, as soon as she pushed the door open, she discovered the room was eerily quiet, with everyone crowding around one computer as if watching something. Hua Yueying leaned in and saw that it was Liu Xing's computer. Her heart tightened—could someone have died again?

She quickly looked at the screen, but it wasn't what she had imagined; instead, a duel was underway...

Xiao Buli glanced at his skill bar; he dragged out several magic skills that he wouldn't need and replaced them with swordsmanship skills that could be used in combat. Ye Feng was a balanced swordsman, and even though he had already learned two LV10 sword skills and two mystic skills, he still wasn't entirely confident he could win. He needed to optimize his operation to the utmost extent.

With everything ready, Xiao Buli finally stepped into the Longquan Sword Pavilion.

What surprised him was that Mu Zhiqi, the Longquan Sword Saint, was not in the Sword Hall. Instead, another swordsmanship grandmaster was there, teaching skills, and he chose to challenge for the title of Swordsman after chatting with him.

"What? You want to challenge for the Swordsman title? Okay, you can go to the back hall; the pavilion master is presiding over a challenge there."

Xiao Buli thanked him and then entered the back hall, where he was startled to find a duel in progress. The challenger he recognized—it was none other than Liu Xing. Clicking on his avatar, beneath the internal energy bar, there were four Soul of Mystic Arts—two of which had already been used.

The kid has grown fast, Xiao Buli thought.

The opponent he faced was not Ye Feng—Liu Xing had long held the title of swordsmanship master, and now he was challenging for the swordsmanship grandmaster title, so naturally, his opponent was also a swordsmanship grandmaster, an NPC with a silver name—Chu Yunyu (Swordsmanship Grandmaster).

"Damn, Liu Xing, your combat power is wicked strong. You can even solo silver NPCs now?" Xiao Buli exclaimed in amazement, stirring up the entire computer room as everyone gathered behind Liu Xing to watch the duel.

When Hua Yueying walked in, she arrived just in time to see such a scene unfold and joined the crowd to enjoy the show.

Liu Xing wasn't affected by the spectators; his focus was entirely on the battlefield, and Xiao Buli, neglecting his own challenge, started to watch appreciatively as well.

This Chu Yunyu had a combat power that was obviously more than a notch above Ye Feng. If Ye Feng's swordsmanship was effortless, Chu Yunyu could be said to be ethereally elegant. His nimble and lively swordplay rendered even lethal moves quite beautiful.

On the other hand, Liu Xing was already straining on defense. Chu Yunyu had only lost a fifth of his health points while Liu Xing's had nearly dropped by half.

Liu Xing was strong, something Xiao Buli hadn't fully realized before, but seeing him now, it was clear. He was fast, but the Qinggong he used was not Flying on Grass; it was a higher-grade 'Tread Snow Without a Trace,' a movement skill not taught at the Si Hai Martial Arts Hall, likely learned from a skill book.

His speed had almost doubled, and he was nimbly moving around Chu Yunyu, launching fierce assaults.

His sword skills were interconnected flawlessly, clearly well-practiced. The wooden sword in his hand emitted a half-foot-long crimson sword light, dazzling like a lightsaber and far stronger than Ye Feng's had been before.

However, Chu Yunyu still held the advantage, his defense was flawless. Despite Liu Xing's impeccable maneuvers, he could not gain any upper hand.

Once again he teleported away, and Liu Xing raised his hand, unleashing a Crescent Sword Qi Slash—a Sword Qi Slash.

Chu Yunyu easily dodged, countering with his own Sword Qi Slash aimed right at the path of Liu Xing's charge—it was incredible that, in such high-speed combat, he still had time to calculate the lead needed, whether it was the NPC's true prowess or an advantage inherent to the computer program.

This time, Liu Xing had no room to dodge and had to roll on the spot to avoid most of the attack. A second wave of Sword Qi followed, with no chance for him to roll away again.

Liu Xing somehow used a skill and vanished like a phantom, reappearing five meters away from Chu Yunyu. Sword Qi slowly gathered around him, swirling in a vortex pattern, and eventually concentrated onto his sword. Chu Yunyu also seemed to tense up, taking a defensive posture.

Once the Sword Qi fully converged, following Liu Xing's sword direction, a solid crimson Sword Qi with a dazzling trail whooshed out as he swung his sword.
