About worlds in search of fun

Chapter 4: chapter 3- Preparation

It had been over 250 years since I created Babylon, and the amount of treasures within was almost infinite. It housed all the treasures I'd collected over the ages, as well as every innovation humanity had made in the Cardinal World.

Despite all this, the world continued to change. Empires rose and fell. I was indifferent to this inevitable cycle. There was nothing I could do to change it, even if I intervened. Humans always found new ways to destroy each other.

Now, I was in my garden, watering the flowers. Though it wasn't necessary, as the flowers sustained themselves with the abundant mana, I enjoyed it as a pastime.

"I'm thinking of hosting a family gathering to celebrate Lucia's pregnancy. What do you think, Morgana?"

Behind me, Morgana was sunbathing in a swimsuit. 'I still wonder why she sunbathes; she never tans.'

"It's a good idea, Master. It's been a while since your family gathered for something other than eating your food. It would be nice for them to spend time together."

'Mm, that's true.' It had been over 25 years since they had last visited. In the end, they had just eaten and left...

"Then it's settled. I'll send out invitations to everyone." After finishing watering the last flower, I shook my hands and turned to look at Morgana, who was still sunbathing.

"Come on, Morgana, we need to plan for the gathering." After a pause, I looked her in the eye.

"And get dressed. That tanning dream of yours will never come true." I dodged a small, pristine white fist.

I laughed as I walked into the house. Morgana had always wanted tanned skin and spent three hours every day sunbathing.

But despite all her efforts, she could never achieve it. She said she looked sickly because of her pale skin, and she hated it.

I turned to look at her again, now in her elegant purple dress that accentuated her slender and beautiful figure. 'I don't understand...'

"Master, I would recommend something outdoors with food prepared by us. I would also suggest preparing gifts for the end of the day."

"That's actually a good idea, Morgana. We'll do that. Besides, have you sent out the invitations?"

"Yes. The guests are your brother Veldanava, his wife Lucia, your sister Velzard and her partner Guy, Vegrynd and Emperor Rudra." I nodded before realizing I'd forgotten someone.

"And Veldora?"

Morgana's face twitched for a second before returning to her usual indifference. "He was also invited, Master, although I doubt he'll come given his busy schedule."

I couldn't help but laugh at Morgana's hidden sarcasm. It was true that Veldora had a busy schedule, but it was mostly due to the constant disasters he caused.

That guy was so destructive, and Morgana had had to educate him several times, along with Velzard and Velgrind. Sighing at that, I decided to think about the gifts I would give these people.

"What would be better, abilities, jewels or weapons?" I asked Morgana.

Morgana always had an answer for everything. "I would suggest something more... personal, Master. Something you've made with your own hands is better than something generic from your treasury."

I couldn't disagree. "Very well, then it's time to create something memorable." And so, I spent the next two weeks in my laboratory.

Eastern Empire.

Veldanava was looking at the invitation from his brother Velzarion. Smiling, he returned to the room where he and Lucia lived.

Entering, he looked at his wife, Lucia Nava, who was lying in bed eating fruit with nearly seven empty plates scattered around the bed. Pregnancy had given her a huge appetite, and she was eating like five people.

"Velda, come and eat with me," Lucia called out with a smile as she continued to stuff food into her mouth.

Shaking his head, he approached and sat down beside her.

"Luci, my brother sent us an invitation to a gathering he's hosting soon. He wants us all to attend and enjoy ourselves."

Lucia nodded like a chicken at the mention of Velzarion and a gathering. That meant food. Velzarion's food. "We have to go, of course we have to go. When is the gathering?"

Veldanava could only sigh...

The Eastern Empire, Throne Room.

Emperor Rudra was reading the same letter Veldanava had. After reading it, he passed it to the woman beside him. She had sky-blue hair tied up in two buns with black ribbons and deep golden eyes.

She wore a dark cheongsam with a golden dragon pattern, along with long white gloves and thigh-high white boots, both adorned with golden ornaments.

This woman was the fourth oldest of the True Dragons, Velgrynd the Blazing Dragon, and Rudra's wife. After reading the letter her husband had given her, she smiled.

"For my brother to hold a gathering under the pretext of Lucia's pregnancy is undoubtedly something new. He's never been one for parties or gatherings."

Rudra nodded and asked, "Shall we go with your brother?"

"Yes, it's best if we go together."

Frozen Continent.

Velzard read the letter from her older brother and looked at her partner, Guy. "We'll go to the gathering, my brother has invited you too."

The man, Guy, was looking at the landscape, or rather, the ice landscape, before nodding to Velzard. "Alright, Velzard, it's been a while since I've seen your brother and it would be good to train a bit."

Velzard rolled her eyes as she left the room.

Spirit's Abode.

A beautiful woman was sitting at the base of a large tree. She had honey-colored hair, pointed ears, and colorful wings on her back. She was wearing a simple yellow dress that accentuated her figure.

She was smiling as she read the letter Velzarion had sent. "You're feeling lonely, Vel... this is the only way you'll throw a party."

After reading the letter, she got up and went to play with the spirits of the place. She was the Queen of the Spirits.

Lunar Forest.

Velzarion was preparing dinner for himself and Morgana when he suddenly sneezed, "Achoo!"

"Ugh, who could be talking about me..."

"Alright, the gifts are ready. It's time to prep the meeting spot."

Morgana was intently watching the gifts her master had crafted throughout the night. There was a sword, a spear, two rings, a scythe, a crown, an axe, and a sheath .

Feeling her gaze, I stood up and explained, "Look, I'm terrible at picking gifts, so I thought, why not give them something tailored to each of them? And this is what I came up with."

Aware my explanation was a bit vague, I continued as I stored the weapons in Babylon. "The sword is for Guy, the spear for Velzard, the rings for Lucia and my brother, respectively. The scythe is for Velgrynd, the crown for Rudra, the axe for Veldora, and the scabbard for Ramiris." I paused and added; " I'll explain each weapon's properties during the gathering. I hate repeating myself."

Then, I left the room to prepare dinner. I needed to decide on a meeting location.

——————————————————————————

After dinner, I glanced at the screen, which displayed the best locations in the Cardinal World for the gathering. However, none of them quite suited me.

"Morgana! Come quickly!" A few seconds later, I heard heels clicking, and Morgana appeared.

"What is it, Master?" she asked, looking at the screen.

"We'll hold the gathering in the forest. It's the only place I think is suitable for this occasion, so prepare everything."

"Understood, Master." And she left.

"Ah, well, I hope they like it." The house fell silent for a moment before I muttered under my breath, "This will be the last time we're all together..."
