Chapter 191: [191] Did Okita Souji Fall for Roy?

"Remarkable progress indeed!"

In Queenvail Girls' Academy's exclusive VIP viewing room, three idol-level beauties with distinct styles had gathered.

Among them, a girl with fiery red hair that stood out like flames watched the concluded preliminary match of the Festa below, her mood slightly heavy as she unconsciously began biting her nails.

"So that's the uncrowned king of Seidoukan now..."

By the window sat another girl with deep purple hair, her posture elegant as she wore a thoughtful expression.

"I saw that video from a month ago too. Back then, he seemed like someone who had just obtained immense power—unable to even control his own strength, with every movement reeking of brute force."

A single hand movement nearly shattered the defensive barrier; a single step cracked the earth.

While this indeed proved his formidable power, it also showed his inability to harness such strength, with energy leaking out and causing such dramatic effects.

A true master should be able to contain all their power within, unleashing it only at the moment of impact like a volcanic eruption.

What they called "brute force" was simply the inability to restrain power internally.

But now, a month later, his every movement had become light and effortless, completely devoid of that previous violent aura. Instead, he moved with practiced ease, displaying a sense of natural mastery.

"To achieve this level in just one month... His progress is so staggering it leaves me speechless."

Sylvia's expression was grave. As Souji's close friend, seeing such a formidable opponent like Roy made it impossible not to worry for them.

"He's amazing, right?"

Okita pointed at Roy, who was just leaving the stage, addressing Sylvia and Stella.

"Indeed, he's incredible."

"He's going to be a tough opponent..."

Both nodded in agreement. How could they possibly win against someone like that?

"And he's handsome, right?"

Okita spoke up again.

"?"

Sylvia blinked in confusion.

Stella was equally stunned.

"Well, he is handsome, sure... Souji, are you okay?"

Sylvia scooted closer, her face full of concern as she studied Okita.

"What do you mean, 'okay'?"

Okita shot back.

Stella, too, cast a strange look her way, as if seeing her for the first time, her gaze filled with unfamiliarity.

"You just said he's handsome!"

Sylvia scrutinized Okita worriedly, as if checking for any signs of head trauma. Finding nothing, she could only stare at Okita with a troubled expression.

"Maybe we should take you to the medical ward for a check-up?"

"I agree! As your teammate, I can't just ignore this!"

Stella nodded solemnly.

"...Seriously, are you two the ones with brain damage?"

"I'm the one worried about your brain being damaged!"

Sylvia grabbed Okita's shoulders, her face twisting with distress.

"You just called that guy handsome! Hearing that from you, I can't help but worry someone messed with your head! Let's go get you checked at the medical ward!"

Okita fell into deep thought.

Honestly, after a month of interactions, had he really portrayed Okita as that much of an ice queen?

...Well, it wasn't entirely impossible.

After all, Okita had no facial expressions—completely poker-faced—and she acted very aloof, hardly speaking to anyone other than Sylvia and Stella. The aura of icy detachment was unmistakable.

"Alright, I'm fine. Let's go for lunch. Our match is the first one this afternoon."

Okita stood up from the sofa, her expression unreadable, and walked toward the door of the viewing room.

Going to the medical facility? Okita was already a dead person, and with this world's advanced technology, what if they discovered something and exposed her true identity?

She'd rather die than go to the medical facility!

Seeing Okita refuse, the two girls had no choice but to give up, following her with worried expressions.

Okita Souji was cold by nature. Throughout all of Queenvail Girls' Academy, she only got along with the two of them. She was decisive and unwavering—once she refused to do something, even tying her up wouldn't change her mind. After a month of living together, both of them understood this well.

"Is Souji really okay?"

"Outwardly, she seems fine..."

Sylvia activated her disguise, and she and Stella followed closely behind Okita, whispering to each other and occasionally casting motherly, concerned glances her way.

"But she was definitely acting strange earlier!"

"Maybe it's just a normal case of spring fever?"

"How could—"

Sylvia was about to say that someone as emotionally detached as Souji couldn't possibly feel that way, but she suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Come to think of it, Souji was only fifteen years old!

This was the age when ordinary girls started feeling those fluttery emotions. Though Souji was colder in personality, who could say she hadn't taken a liking to that guy?

That Roy—his looks and strength were impeccable, his progress rapid, and his potential immense. He was truly one of the best... Oh no, the more Sylvia thought about it, the more plausible it seemed!

Could Souji really have developed feelings for that Roy?

What if it was true?

A faint sense of loss settled in Sylvia's heart. She traveled all over the world, and there were already few people she could confide in. Finally, she had found a close friend, and now that friend might have fallen for another man?

"But if that Roy is responsible and dependable, he might be a good match for Souji. Hmm, I'll have to vet him properly!"

After much deliberation, Sylvia secretly made up her mind. If her friend found a good partner, she'd be happy for her—as long as he was truly a good match.

...

"These reporters are so annoying."

In the players' exit corridor, there was a wide open space—the only path back to the preparation room.

As soon as they arrived, Roy and the others were swarmed by a crowd of reporters. It took great effort to escape the encirclement and return to the preparation room, where Roy vented his frustration.

"An hour! They pestered us for a full hour!"

Lunchtime was almost over, and the afternoon match was about to begin!

"It's a legitimate right granted to reporters worldwide by the Festa," Claudia said lightly, taking a teacup from the cabinet and pouring him some hot tea.

"There are benefits to this as well. At the very least, public perception of you will greatly improve, and it'll be much easier to attract advertising endorsements and commercial events!"

"That's not entirely out of the question..."

Roy's eyes lit up, and he nodded in agreement.
