Ability unlock: I can copy and evolve abilities endlessy

From the first person view of a young man who looks at a woman wearing a beautiful white dress standing in a field as her black hair fluttered in the wind with her bright blue eyes staring at him and the grass swaying in the wind and the Sky was clear.

"How long do you plan on Sleeping Zane?" the woman said as she smiled then the scene immediately switches in an instant the place is replaced with destroyed buildings and rubble everywhere with dead grass as the ground was soaked with blood as they were corpses littered on the blood soaked ground and the sky was red.

Suddenly the woman was stabbed at back by a large claw which pierced through her and blood trickled from her mouth and her white dress was soaked in blood.

"Wake up" the woman said with a smile despite the claw sticking through her.

"oh my God!!!" Zack's eyes suddenly shot open as he jolted out of sleep as he sat up on a bed and breathing heavily on what he just experienced.

"what the hell was that and why this woman" Zack held his head with both hands as the scene kept replaying in his head like a video tape as fear was evident on his face.

"Why can't these dreams just stop" he said with a shiver as the scene couldn't leave his head.

Taking a deep breath in, he then exhaled out as he tried to calm himself and forget the horrific scene he saw.

"Zack just calm down!" he said to himself as he breathed out. looking down he found he was on a hospital bed as he was connected to a drip and a machine beside the bed beeping. Taking a look at his surroundings he found himself in a hospital ward as the room was illuminated by white lights.

"I guess I landed in the hospital after that incident" he released a sigh as he remembered the near-death experience and the encounter with those salvage creatures and the battle he fought. Clenching his fist as he remembered everything that had transpired that day and knowing the true colors of Zoe and Ben as he was filled with rage.

"those two I called friends looked down on me and even mocked me and insulted me well as the saying goes no situation is permanent, the day we meet again I will make sure you both regret all you did!" Zack said with rage burning in his eyes but then he suddenly remembered

"man, I lost almost my temper there" he calmed himself down as he didn't want his heart to be engulfed with and rage and revenge, then he looked out the window as he saw some buildings and their tops giving him the sense he was situated on a high floor.

"I can't let my vision be blinded with rage and revenge, I guess God wanted me to know the kind of people they were" he said to himself as he thought about it.

"Although we might meet again, they will still regret everything they did but on the bright side I awakened my ability" Zack said loudly as he was happy

"Lord thank you for this miracle you did and this second chance l got" he looked towards the sky as he stared outside as a wide smile bloomed on his face then he remembered something.

"The system" he suddenly remembered and just as if he had summoned the system the system appeared before him out of the blue as the holographic panel was gold in color.

"Here it goes" Zack was about to click on yes when suddenly the door of the hospital ward he was slid open as his mum and Sora stepped in and Zack was surprised at their entrance and the system prompt disappeared, before Zack could open his mouth to speak, Sora ran towards him and hugged him with tears in her eyes.

"Brother you are finally awake!!!" Sora said with joy as she hugged him tightly and Zack was in stupor as Sora took him by surprise.

"shouldn't l be awake before?" Zack was puzzled.

"Brother you have been in a coma for four days and we thought you will never wake up" Said Sora with tears in her eyes and that's when it hits Zack

"Wait you mean I have been in a coma for four good days!!!" He asked with shock

"Yes" Sora answered and Zack had a blank expression as he became speechless.

"Well don't cry anyone, as you can see am well and healthy" Zack said with a wide smile and Sora looked at him with her teary eyes and nodded her head as she sniffed and wiped her tears.

Then his mum came towards him and Sora as her face seemed to show an unhappy emotion as she held a plastic bag and sat on the chair beside the bed and dropped the plastic bag by the side.

"Mum am so happy to see you" said Zack with excitement as he had thought he would never them again. But she didn't respond to Zack as she seem to struggle to say something as she dug her fingers into her nurse uniform as she squeezed.

"Mum what's wrong?" Zack asked as she didn't talk.

"Zack please forgive me" his Mum says and this surprised him as she couldn't look him in the face.

"Huh? Mum what do mean?" Zack was taken aback.

"forgive me for not been there on time to protect you" She said as her voice carried emotions and she brought her head down as she couldn't look Zack in the eyes.

"Mum don't say that" he was in shock over her apology as he couldn't understand her.

"Mum why are you are apologizing? You did nothing wrong" He said to her as Sora could only watch.

"Zack am sorry for not getting there in time to protect you, because of my delay you went through such terrible ordeal" she said emotionally as tears dropped from her eyes.

"Am sorry" she kept apologizing and Zack's facial expression changed and an in instant he got off the bed and knelt before her as he held her hands.

"Mum please don't be like this; it wasn't your fault to begin with" he said and she rose her face and looked towards him in surprise.

"maybe if I had awakened earlier I wouldn't have gone through all that but if I had maybe I wouldn't have been able to save those kids, am sure you might have met them" he said with a smile as he placed his hand on her face and wiped her tears.

"So, mum don't blame yourself anymore instead just be happy that am here" and with that been said he hugged her and she was in great surprise as she had expected him to blame her but he didn't instead he consoled her and seeing this she suddenly tears up as she remembers their father her husband as she held Zack closely to her.

Mother and son were locked in an embrace for over three minutes.

"So, when are both going to let go of each other?" Sora said as she squinted her eyes.

"Mum it's okay" Zack said to his Mum as he broke away from the embrace and standing up. Just then the door silds open and a nurse step in,

"Mrs. Ellora some people are here to see" the nurse informed.

"but I am not expecting anyone" Zack's Mum replies, who we now know as Ellora

"Zack is any of your friends coming to see you?" She turned to Zack and asked at the mention of friends his face darken as he remembers the look on the Ben and Zoe's face.

"Well am not expecting any" he replied

"Since we aren't expecting visitors, then can only know who they are by seeing them." Said Zack's Mum

"Okay let them in" Mrs. Ellora said to the nurse and she obeyed and the door slid open as three familiar faces busted in with happiness on their faces.

"Mr. you are finally awake" shouted Clara with joy as she, Michael and Dan ran towards Zack they held some flowers and a basket of fruits as entering behind them were their parents.

"Seriously" Zack was stunned as the three kids ran towards him and hugged him.

"Mr. we are really glad you are finally awake" said Dan

"Mr., we thought you weren't going to wake up again and we were very sacred of that and now we are filled with joy and happiness that you are awake" Clara said as the boys nodded too.

"Mr., I hope you are alright?" said Michael

"As you can all see am well and alright" said Zack as he flexed his arm with a smile on his face.

"Mr. we also got you some fruits" Clara said as she showed Zack a basket of fruits.

"Wow thank you Clara" Zack appreciated.

"Well this nothing comparable to you saving us from those creatures three days ago" said Clara as she and the boys brought their head as they felt what they brought wasn't satisfactory enough and also remembering the horrific scenes they witnessed.

"You guys shouldn't feel down this present you three brought is special because after everything you three came to still see me" Zack said as he cheered them up and they rose their heads as their eyes sparkled with happiness.

"So, Mr. you're an abilitan?" Dan suddenly questioned

"First of all, my name isn't Mr. my name is Zack" he said to them

"Second yes I am an abilitan" he answered Dan's question and the children were filled with surprise.

"Wow so big brother Zack does that mean you have super powers?" Michael asked with anticipation in his eyes.

"Yeah of course"

"Big brother so what talent do you have?" Clara suddenly asked

"How did get to know about talents?" Zack threw his question at her

"Well I had about it from my teacher" she answered

"Okay, well I have a diamond talent" Zack said with a smile.

"WOW!!!" the kids said together as their eyes sparkled with curiosity

"Hm looks someone has forgotten his little sis" Sora immediately said with a pout as she folded her arms in annoyance.

"Who are my to forget my cute and beautiful charming little sis" Zack said as he made a gesture of bowing to her in a European way and she became flustered.

Then Zack's hands immediately went for her cheeks as he grabbed them and begin pulling them playfully.

"Ha, I knew you were pretending to be annoyed to get my attention, right?" Zack said with a smug.

"Zack please stop, you are embarrassing me in front of them" Sora said with helplessness as she tried to push Zack's hand away but couldn't.

"Nope until you admit it" Zack refused as the kids laughed.

"Fine I admit" Sora admitted.

"Yeah, I knew it" Zack said, as if he had won a top-notch victory

"Okay guys meet my Sister Sora" he introduced Sora to them.

"It's nice to meet you, big sister" the three of them replied at once and Sora seeing this held her head as she was called Big sister.

"So Big brother Zack your ability must be powerful right?" Dan asked

Then this made Zack to suddenly remember the abilities he used while he fought those creatures.

"Yeah sure of course" he said causally

"Cool" the boys said with eyes full of excitement

Meanwhile the kid's parents were busy thanking Zack's Mum for her son saving the lives of their children as they kept bowing in gratefulness and still thinking her as she tried to tell them it was enough.

"When I grow up, I want to become an abilitan like big brother Zack and I will have a diamond talent just like him" Said Clara with an optimistic look as clenched her fists and raising them towards the ceiling.

"Nah I don't think so, well me and Dan will be powerful abilitans and we both are going have diamond talent" said Michael as he and Dan had a smug on their faces.

"Why can't you guys just support me and go along with my words?" Clara said with a pout.

"Well it's because we are boys" they said with a smile and Clara became a little annoyed.

"Well Clara don't worry big sis got your back" Sora said to Clara and the girls face brighten up with a smile.

"Ha see that big Sister is on my Side" Clara said with a smug.

The three kept bickering about been an abilitan and who will be the strongest and Zack watched on with a Smile on his face as he felt at peace and the presence of the kids giving him solace.

Later that Night.

Zack is seen on his bed as he stares towards the Ceiling as thousands ran through his head and then remember what he had told the kids before they all left the hospital together.

"There is one thing I want you three to promise me" Zack said to them.

"And what is that Big brother" Clara asked with curiosity in her eyes.

"That when you three become abilitans in the future that you will always have each other's backs even in the toughest times" He said to them.

"Yes, we will" they three replied at the same time with a big smile on their faces as they teased each other and Zack saw how close they were to each other.

"How wish I had friends like them" Zack sighed.

"Well now is the moment" and with a thought he summoned the system which appeared out the air as usual.

[It's not a Joke that's why you have certain ability that can copy other people's abilities] the system replied and Zack felt dumbstruck.

 "Huh? What does view my statues window has do with pain" Zack was puzzled then instantly Zack felt a sharp pain in his head.

"ARGHHH!!" Zack groaned in pain as he held his head with both hands as felt an intense pain it felt like someone had stabbed a knife into his head.

"Damn you, system you said it was going to hurt a little, is this the little you mean!!" He gritted his teeth in pain

The system was in the process of creating Zack's data base as he was still in intense pain.

Then a bigger holographic panel appeared before Zack as he was in awe.

"Wow it's just like a video game" Zack said with enthusiasm as he looked and at his statues window. The moment his eyes landed on his ability he was shocked.

"You got to be kidding me, so I awakened a freaking Ex rank Ability!!!" Zack said as he was shocked and disbelief was written all over his face.

[Yes] The system affirmed

"I can't still believe this, so I have a freaking Ex-rank ability!!" he was still in shock as he stared at the rank of ability copy.

In this world abilities have ranks and they are ranked on how powerful or weak an ability is and its advantages and disadvantages or its short comings.

They are ranked in this manner, D-rank, C-rank, B-rank, A-rank, S-rank, SS-rank, SSS-rank, X-rank, XX-rank and Ex-rank. The Lowest rank is D-rank and Ex-rank the highest and the cream of the top and also believed as Myth as Nobody could remember when last an Ex-rank ability appeared but now before Zack was an Ex-rank ability which he had awakened and that myth had become a reality for him.

"I thought this was Myth but I guess is not anymore for me" Zack said with a grin.

"System, show info on ability copy" Zack requested.

"System what are this Evolution points used for?" Zack questioned the system.

[Evolutions points or Ep for short are the points used to evolve an ability you have copied from its initial rank to a higher rank, the higher the rank of the ability the more Ep you will need to evolve the ability] the system explained.

"thought I wasn't going to be surprised by you but this is insane, you mean I can evolve the rank of an ability to a higher one?" Zack was in stupor as he could not believe it.

[Yes of course] the system affirmed.

"this isn't just a cheat it's a double cheat!!!" Zack said loudly with excitement as he thought of countless possible ways to use the system then something immediately struck his mind.

"Although am not a fan of novels but I did some research earlier today and from the novels I glanced through on the web about the Mc with a System, I found out that the system do give them a bonus, for example you are supposed to give me some free Ep as a welcome bonus" Zack said with look of a con business man on his face.

"You damn system you need a good beating" Zack could only yell at the system.

"Since am not getting a welcome bonus, then how do I earn Ep then?" Zack asked as frustration was visible in his tone.

[In the end you still need my help] the System mocked him and Zack got infuriated but then he calmed down.

"Fine I need your help, so can l know how earn Ep now" Zack made a straight face as he asked.

[Oh, now the serious mode, well l go along with it]

[In order for you to earn Ep you must absorb the energy within the core of monsters and beasts] the system gave a brief explanation.

"So, in order to obtain to Ep I must absorb the energy within the core of a beast of monster?"

"Then I guess my life is about to get rough" Zack said with a helpless sigh as he remembers the scene around him when he couldn't awaken.

"I wonder which academy I should apply for" Zack thought.

"How wish I had awakened there at the academy grounds maybe I would have been given an offer into a top academy" He said with a sigh and then they were a tinge of annoyance seen on his face

"Damn you system this all your fault, if you had just activated right there maybe I would have gotten into a top academy" He yelled at the system.

Zack was left speechless by the system's response

*the reason I was given the number one in Gladden academy was because of my quick bane energy absorption speed and this damn system said am not good enough* Zack said in his mind

"Instead of battering words with you, this is the time I need to think about getting into an academy" Zack laid down on his bed as he thought about it.

"Hmm, so this means that I can copy and evolve any ability I want?" A smirk curved on Zack's lips as he thought of countless possibilities and ways to use this opportunity he has gotten.

"Guess I have to get stronger, all those who looked down on me and mocked me will one day beg me on their knees. Even those bastards at the Lyon Family and that Vile grand Uncle of Mine who took my rightful position from me I make sure you all regret it" Zack said with determination on his face as his once crushed will and Zeal has been re-ignited.

But, they was one tiny thing he missed and that was about what was about to come his way soon.

The Next Morning.

Zack strides down the stairs with sleepy eyes as he seemed to have just woken up and Sora following behind him and Suddenly then was a ding at the door.

"Don't worry I got it" Said Sora as she dashed past him Quickly.

"Man, where is this girl hurrying to?" Zack said with a helpless look.

Coming down finally, Zack saw Sora receiving something which seemed like a letter from a Mail man and then she closed the door.

"What's that Sora?" Zack asked but Sora stood still without saying a word and this got him confused.

"It's…. it's…...a…...letter" Sora stammered

"A letter? From who?" He asked again but he got no response from her then he immediately walked towards and grabbed the letter from her hand.

"What's wrong with you that you keep staring at it" then when his eyes fell on the letter he froze as his eyes were glued on the insignia on the Envelope which enclosed the letter, the Insignia was a Golden Star which was surrounded by five smaller stars and the star at the center having two swords going through it from the left and the right side. And the insignia was gold in color.

"This…" Zack stammered as he himself was short of words

"This insignia I can't be mistaken this belongs to Bright Gold academy, right?" he asked Sora and she just nodded as shock was written on their faces and Zack proceeded to open the envelope and he brought out the letter, on seeing the letter head of the letter his question was confirmed.

"Its really Bright Gold Academy" and he proceeded to read the letter and after a minute of reading the letter, Zack lets out a gasp and let's go of the letter and the letter falls freely to the ground.

"What is it Zack?" Sora asked Zack as she picked up the letter to read and she was stunned and then Zack immediately shouted.

"OH MY GOD!!!"
