Chapter 83: Chapter 83 Clash with the Guardian

The air in the chamber crackled with tension as Jack stared down the tower guardian. The man's void - like eyes seemed to peer into Jack's soul, sending a shiver down his spine, but he refused to back down. Behind him, his companions readied their weapons, their breaths coming in short, nervous gasps."Your threats won't stop us," Jack said, his voice steady despite the fear knotting in his stomach. "We need that crystal to save our world from the Abyssal Eclipse."The guardian let out a mocking laugh, the sound echoing off the crystalline walls. "The Abyssal Eclipse is but a shadow of the true power at play here. That black crystal has been sealed away for a reason—a reason far beyond your comprehension." With a wave of his hand, the torches lining the walls flared up, casting eerie shadows that danced and contorted across the room.Elder Li stepped forward, his staff held defensively. "We've come too far to turn back. If you know the danger that looms, you should help us instead of hindering our quest."The guardian's expression darkened. "Help you? You mortals are so arrogant. You think you can wield ancient power without consequence?" As he spoke, tendrils of star - like energy snaked out from his robes, slithering across the floor towards the group. The Keeper was the first to react. She charged forward, her ice - blue sword slicing through the air. Ice crystals exploded from the blade, freezing the approaching tendrils. But more kept coming, their cold, starry glow illuminating the room.Jack focused on the merged orb within his chest, feeling its power surge. The tome in his grasp began to vibrate, its symbols glowing brightly. He channeled the combined energy, and a multicolored beam shot out from his sword, colliding with the guardian's tendrils. The impact sent shockwaves through the chamber, shattering some of the nearby artifacts on the shelves. The guardian hissed in anger. "You'll pay for that!" He raised both hands, and a massive sphere of dark energy formed above his head. "Behold the power of the void!"Lyra, ever quick - thinking, grabbed a strange device from one of the shelves. It was a small, handheld mirror with intricate carvings around its edge. "Jack! The energy—reflect it back at him!"Jack understood instantly. He positioned himself in front of Lyra, using his sword to focus the power of the orb and the tome. As the sphere of dark energy hurtled towards them, Lyra held up the mirror, and Jack channeled the energy to reflect the attack. The dark sphere hit the mirror and ricocheted back towards the guardian. The man's eyes widened in surprise as he was forced to defend himself, creating a shield of star - like energy. But the impact was powerful, and it sent him stumbling backwards.Taking advantage of the guardian's momentary weakness, the group charged forward. The Keeper's ice magic froze the guardian's feet to the ground, while Elder Li sent a barrage of golden bolts towards him. Jack, with Lyra at his side, aimed for the guardian's torso.Just as they were about to strike, the black crystal on the pedestal began to pulse violently. A wave of dark energy emanated from it, knocking everyone off their feet. When Jack looked up, he saw that the guardian had broken free from the ice, and his expression was one of pure rage."You've awakened something you shouldn't have," the guardian growled. "Now, you'll face the true wrath of the tower."The room began to shake violently, and the black crystal rose into the air, its surface crackling with dark power. Jack knew that they were in more danger than ever, but he was determined to claim the crystal and continue their quest, no matter what new horrors the guardian had in store for them.
