A Western Kid’s Journey into the Eastern Cultivation World

Chapter 80: Chapter 80 The Crystal's Fury and Truths

Jack's sword descended towards the pulsating crystal, the air around it crackling with anticipation. But the moment the blade made contact, a shockwave of purple energy erupted from the pedestal, sending him flying backwards. The ground trembled violently, and the walls of the chamber began to crumble, raining down chunks of rock. The crystal, instead of shattering, began to glow with an intensity that blinded everyone. Its surface rippled like water, and a figure started to materialize within. It was a woman, her form translucent but radiating power. Her eyes were closed, and her long, silver hair flowed as if in a gentle breeze, despite the chaos around."What have you done?" Lyra shouted, shielding her eyes from the blinding light.Elder Li raised his staff, chanting in a desperate attempt to calm the surging energy. "This crystal... it wasn't meant to be destroyed. It was a seal!"The Keeper, sword at the ready, helped Jack to his feet. "We need to get out of here before this whole place collapses!"But their escape was blocked. The shadowy remains of the defeated cloaked figure began to stir, and tendrils of dark energy snaked across the floor, forming a barrier around the chamber. The woman within the crystal finally opened her eyes, and her gaze, filled with ancient sorrow and anger, swept over the group."You foolish mortals," her voice echoed through the chamber, a sound that seemed to come from both far away and right beside them. "You have awakened what was meant to stay buried."Jack stepped forward, his grip on his sword firm despite the fear gnawing at him. "We're trying to stop the Abyssal Eclipse. We thought this crystal was part of their plan."The woman let out a bitter laugh. "The Abyssal Eclipse is but a symptom. This crystal held the essence of an ancient being, a force that predates your world. Long ago, my sisters and I sacrificed ourselves to seal it away, to protect all of creation."As she spoke, images flashed before Jack's eyes. He saw a time when the world was young, and powerful beings roamed the land. There was a great war, a clash of titans that threatened to tear the universe apart. In the end, the woman and her sisters used their combined power to trap the malevolent force within the crystal, at the cost of their physical forms."But now, the seal is broken," the woman continued. "And the darkness will soon be free. You must find the other crystals, the ones my sisters and I scattered across the realms. Only by reuniting them can you hope to reseal the darkness."Just then, the crystal began to shake violently, and cracks formed on its surface. The woman's form started to fade. "Hurry," she said, her voice growing weaker. "The Abyssal Eclipse is a distraction, a way to weaken the barriers between the realms. The true danger lies in what you have unleashed today."With those words, the crystal shattered, and a surge of dark energy rushed out. The shadowy barrier around the chamber dissolved, replaced by a swirling portal that led to who - knew - where. Jack looked at his companions, determination set in his eyes."We have no choice. We need to find those other crystals before it's too late."Lyra nodded, her expression grim. "But first, we need to figure out where to start looking. This just got a whole lot more complicated."As the group stepped towards the portal, they couldn't shake the feeling that they had just stumbled into a much larger and more dangerous game than they had ever imagined. The secrets of the temple had only opened the door to an even greater mystery, and the fate of all worlds now rested on their shoulders.
