A Western Kid’s Journey into the Eastern Cultivation World

Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Clash with the Guardian and Mysteries

The Guardian of the Ruins let out a deafening screech, the sound reverberating through the vast chamber like a thunderclap. Its massive wings beat the air, creating a powerful gust that sent Jack and his companions stumbling backward. The sickly green scales on its body glowed brighter, casting an eerie light over the entire room.Jack dug his feet into the ground, fighting against the wind. He could feel the Chaos Orb within him surging with energy, as if it, too, recognized the threat before them. "Fan out!" he shouted to his allies. "We can't let it focus its attacks on one of us!"The Keeper was the first to react. She leaped forward, her ice - blue sword slicing through the air. A trail of freezing mist followed her blade, aimed at the creature's massive wings. But the Guardian was quick. With a flick of its tail, it sent a wave of dark energy hurtling towards her. The Keeper barely managed to dodge, the energy grazing her shoulder and leaving a smoking gash.Elder Li raised his staff, chanting ancient incantations. Golden symbols materialized in the air, forming a shield in front of the group. "I can only hold it for so long!" he shouted, his voice strained. "We need to find its weak point!"Jack's eyes scanned the Guardian's body, looking for any sign of vulnerability. The creature's eyes, burning with malevolent fire, locked onto him. It let out another roar and lunged forward, its claws extended. Jack leaped to the side, his sword slashing at the creature's leg. The blade struck the scales, but it was like hitting a wall of iron. Sparks flew, and the impact sent a jolt of pain up his arm.Just then, the mysterious guardian who had led them here stepped forward. His body began to glow with a bright, golden light, and he raised his hands. "I've been waiting for this moment," he said, his voice suddenly different, more powerful and commanding. "For centuries, I've watched over this place, waiting for the one who could finally break the curse."Jack turned to him, confusion and surprise written all over his face. "What are you talking about?"The guardian ignored him, his eyes fixed on the Guardian of the Ruins. "Release the power you hold, and let the ancient seal be broken!" he shouted. The Guardian of the Ruins let out a furious roar, as if it understood the words. It turned its attention from Jack to the guardian, its wings flapping wildly. Dark energy gathered around its mouth, forming a massive ball of destruction. The guardian didn't flinch. Instead, he closed his eyes and began to chant in an ancient language. The symbols on the walls of the chamber began to glow, and a strange, pulsating energy filled the air. Jack could feel the ground shaking beneath his feet, and the crystal - like structure in the center of the chamber began to vibrate violently. As the Guardian of the Ruins unleashed its attack, the guardian raised his hands, and a beam of pure, golden light shot out. The two forces collided in a blinding explosion, filling the chamber with a deafening roar. Jack shielded his eyes, the force of the blast pushing him back several feet. When the smoke cleared, the Guardian of the Ruins was on one knee, its body battered and damaged. The guardian stood before it, his form radiating with an otherworldly power. "It's over," he said. "The seal is broken."With a final, pained roar, the Guardian of the Ruins dissolved into a cloud of green mist. The mist dissipated, revealing a small, glowing orb on the ground. Jack walked over and picked it up, his hand tingling at the touch. The orb was warm, and he could feel a strange, familiar energy within it - the same energy as the Chaos Orb.The guardian turned to Jack, his expression solemn. "You are the chosen one, Jack. This orb is the key to unlocking the true power of the Chaos Orb, and to stopping the hooded figure and his followers. But be warned, the path ahead will be filled with even greater dangers."Jack looked at the orb in his hand, then back at the guardian. "Who are you really?" he asked. The guardian smiled. "I am the last of the ancient guardians, the one who has protected this place and the power within it for generations. And now, my duty is passed on to you."Just as he finished speaking, the ground began to shake again. A large crack opened up in the floor, and a dark, menacing figure emerged from the depths. It was the hooded figure, his red - glowing staff in hand. "You think you can stop me?" he hissed. "You're too late. The final ritual has already begun, and nothing can stop the Gate of Oblivion from opening now."
