A Western Kid’s Journey into the Eastern Cultivation World

Chapter 151: Chapter 150 Reckoning in the Ruins

Elara's ears rang from the deafening roar of the charging creatures. Her hands trembled, but not from fear—from the raw, untamed energy coursing through her veins like liquid lightning. The visions of a devastated Worldtree flashed in her mind, spurring her into action.

"Not today, creep!" she shouted, her voice cracking with strain. She threw her hands forward, and a wave of iridescent energy shot out, hitting the nearest tentacled beast square in its gaping maw. The creature let out a sickening screech and dissolved into a puddle of sizzling goo.

Lyra fought her way to Elara's side, her sword a blur of silver as she parried attacks from the scaled monsters. "Elara, we need a plan! These things keep coming!" she yelled over the din of battle.

Just then, Nox somersaulted through the air, his dagger glinting as he landed a critical strike on a shadowy winged creature. "We take out the big guy first!" he shouted, nodding towards the white - haired man who watched the chaos with a detached smirk, as if this were all a game to him.

The white - haired man twirled a staff he'd summoned out of thin air, his amethyst eyes glowing menacingly. "You think you can just waltz in and ruin my fun? Think again, amateurs." With a flick of his wrist, he sent a wave of dark energy hurtling towards them.

Elara's instincts kicked in. She thrust her hands out, creating a shield of pulsating light and dark energy. The dark wave crashed against it, sending shockwaves rippling through the ground. "You're the one who's outmatched," she growled.

But the white - haired man just laughed, a cold, mocking sound. "Cute, but not enough." He snapped his fingers, and the sky above them turned pitch - black. Thunder rumbled, and bolts of purple lightning rained down.

Jack, his host's body barely holding on, managed to send a thought to Elara. "He's drawing power from the rifts in the sky. Cut off his connection!"

Elara gritted her teeth. She knew what she had to do. Summoning every ounce of strength she had left, she took a running start and leaped into the air, her body surrounded by a swirling cyclone of energy. As she flew towards the white - haired man, she could feel the power of the Worldtree surging within her, a steady, grounding force amidst the chaos.

The white - haired man's eyes widened in surprise as Elara closed in. "You little—" he started, but his words were cut off as she slammed into him with the force of a meteor.

The impact sent shockwaves through the battlefield. The white - haired man was thrown back, crashing into a pile of rubble. Elara landed gracefully, her eyes fixed on him. "Game over," she said, her voice cold and determined.

But just as she thought she'd won, the white - haired man pushed himself up, a wicked grin on his face. "You really think it's that easy?" he said. He raised his staff high, and the rifts in the sky began to swirl faster, sucking in everything around them. "Time to say goodbye."

Lyra and Nox fought their way to Elara's side. "We're not going down without a fight!" Lyra shouted.

As the world around them began to spiral into the void, Elara took a deep breath. She reached out with her power, connecting with the Worldtree on a deeper level. A bright light filled the battlefield, and for a moment, everything froze.

When the light faded, the white - haired man was gone, and the rifts in the sky were starting to close. But Elara knew this was just a temporary victory. The man had gotten away, and he'd be back.

"Let's get out of here," Nox said, his voice tired but resolute. "We've got a lot of planning to do if we're going to stop him for good."

As they made their way back to the safety of the Worldtree, Elara couldn't shake the feeling that they were in way over their heads. But she was also determined. She'd stop at nothing to protect the Worldtree and the world it sustained, no matter what the white - haired man or his army of monsters
