A Western Kid’s Journey into the Eastern Cultivation World

Chapter 130: Chapter 129 The Forging Oath

The collapsing cavern shook violently, sending jagged shards of crystal and chunks of obsidian crashing down around the group. Jack clutched the glowing hilt tightly, the merged orb in his chest pulsating in an erratic rhythm. He could feel a strange connection forming between the hilt and the orb, as if they were two halves of a whole finally reuniting. But with each passing moment, he also felt a creeping sensation, as if something was trying to burrow into his mind.

Lyra stumbled over a large boulder, her body still weak from the encounter with the dark matter. Aelion caught her just in time, his own strength waning as the shadow veins on his armor spread like a deadly disease. "We need to find a way out of here, and fast," he said, his voice strained.

The Keeper led the way, her eyes scanning the walls for any signs of an exit. "There!" she shouted, pointing to a narrow passageway that seemed to lead upwards. But as they made their way towards it, a deafening roar echoed through the cavern. A horde of Abyssal Hunters emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing with a malevolent purple light.

"Protect Jack!" Elias shouted, his staff ablaze with a weak, golden light. "He's the only one who can complete the Elysian Requiem." Lyra and Aelion immediately positioned themselves in front of Jack, their weapons at the ready. The Abyssal Hunters charged, their claws and fangs glistening in the dim light.

Lyra fought with a ferocity born of desperation. Her dagger flashed through the air, striking down one hunter after another. But one of the creatures managed to get past her defenses, its claws raking across her arm. She let out a cry of pain as dark matter seeped into her wound, corrupting her flesh.

"Lyra!" Jack shouted, his heart pounding in his chest. He tried to rush to her aid, but Aelion held him back. "You have to keep going!" Aelion said. "We'll hold them off." With that, he charged into the fray, his sword ablaze with a blinding light that temporarily pushed back the hunters.

The Keeper turned to Jack, her face pale with worry. "We need to get her out of here before the dark matter consumes her completely," she said. Jack nodded, his jaw set in determination. He focused on the merged orb, drawing on its power to create a shield of light and dark energy around the group.

As they fought their way through the horde, Elias suddenly collapsed to his knees. His staff clattered to the ground, and his eyes closed. "Elias!" The Keeper rushed to his side, but it was too late. The old mage had used up the last of his strength.

Jack felt a wave of grief wash over him, but he knew they couldn't stop. They finally reached the passageway and began to climb. The Abyssal Hunters pursued them, but the narrowness of the passage made it difficult for them to attack in force.

At the top of the passage, they emerged into a small, circular chamber. The walls were covered in ancient 符文,and a pedestal stood in the center. On the pedestal was a large, glowing crystal that pulsed in time with the merged orb. "This is it," The Keeper said. "The Starfall Altar. According to the ancient texts, this is where the Elysian Requiem must be forged."

But as Jack approached the pedestal, he felt a sharp pain in his head. The merged orb and the hilt began to glow brightly, and a vision flashed before his eyes. He saw himself standing on the altar, the Elysian Requiem complete, but his body was nothing more than a vessel, his mind consumed by the power of the weapon.

He shook his head, trying to clear the vision. "I can't do this," he said. "I can't sacrifice my mind, my soul, for a weapon." Lyra, despite the pain of her wound, stepped forward. "Jack, you have to," she said. "We don't have a choice. The fate of the world depends on it."

Aelion, his armor now almost completely covered in shadow veins, nodded. "She's right, Jack. We've come too far to give up now." Jack looked at his friends, their faces filled with determination and hope. He took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay," he said. "But I won't lose myself without a fight."

With that, he placed the hilt on the pedestal and placed his hands on the crystal. The merged orb flared to life, and a beam of light and dark energy shot up from the altar, illuminating the chamber. The forging of the Elysian Requiem had begun, but Jack knew that the greatest battle was yet to be
