Chapter 115: Chapter 114 Clash Against the Abyssal Warden

The air crackled with malevolent energy as the Abyssal Warden's spikes rained down upon the group. Lyra dove in front of Elder Li, her dagger flashing as she deflected a shard aimed at the old man's head. The impact sent shockwaves up her arm, and she gritted her teeth to stifle a cry of pain. "Hold on, Elder Li!" she shouted over the din, her eyes locked on the writhing mass of tentacles that was the creature. The Keeper summoned a wall of ice, her hands shaking violently. The ice shimmered briefly before the Abyssal Warden's tendrils smashed through it like brittle glass. She stumbled backwards, blood trickling from her nose—a telltale sign that her magic was on the verge of burnout. "It's no use!" she gasped, her voice laced with despair. "Its power... it's overwhelming."Jack, meanwhile, charged forward, the merged orb in his chest blazing like a sun. Images of the ancient weapon continued to flash in his mind, but he struggled to grasp its true form. As he neared the creature, a tentacle lashed out, knocking him off his feet. He hit the ground hard, his sword skidding away.Just as the tentacle was about to crush him, a blast of icy wind froze it in place. Jack looked up to see The Keeper, her face pale but determined. "Go!" she shouted. "I can't hold it for long!"Jack scrambled to his feet and retrieved his sword. He noticed that the creature's multiple eyes were focused on different members of the group, as if analyzing their every move. Its eyes must be connected to its weak point, he thought. But reaching them would be no easy feat.Lyra, still protecting Elder Li, caught Jack's eye and nodded. She then leaped into action, slashing at the tendrils that threatened to encircle them. Her movements were a blur, but each strike seemed to have little effect on the Abyssal Warden. "Jack, we need a better plan!" she shouted.Elder Li, despite his broken leg, managed to sit up. "The legends... they said the creature's heart lies beneath its central eye," he croaked, his voice barely audible. "But it's protected by layers of impenetrable darkness."Jack tightened his grip on his sword. "Then we'll have to break through those layers." He closed his eyes and focused on the merged orb, trying to channel its power. A strange warmth spread through his body, and he felt a connection to the ancient mages whose images haunted his mind.Suddenly, the orb emitted a blinding flash of light, and a weapon began to form in Jack's hand. It was a spear, its tip glowing with a mixture of light and dark energy. "I think I've got it!" he shouted, his voice filled with newfound hope. But before he could launch an attack, the Abyssal Warden let out a roar that shook the very foundations of the cave. Its tentacles whipped around, creating a tornado of dark energy. Jack was thrown backwards, the spear vanishing as quickly as it had appeared. The Keeper, seeing the group in peril, summoned one last burst of magic. She created a dome of ice around them, but the Abyssal Warden's attack shattered it in seconds. As she fell to her knees, she looked at Jack with a pleading expression. "We need to find a way to weaken it, and fast."Jack nodded, his mind racing. He knew that they were running out of time. The Abyssal Eclipse drew nearer with each passing moment, and if they failed to defeat the creature, all would be lost. But as he looked at his companions, their faces determined despite the odds, he refused to give up. "We'll find a way," he said, his voice firm. "Together."Just then, a strange sensation washed over Jack. The merged orb began to pulsate in a new rhythm, and he felt a presence in his mind—one that seemed to offer a glimmer of hope, but also carried a warning of greater danger to come.
