During the halftime break, the stars went to the backstage to refine their make-up.
Taking out the phone, Fang noticed a missed call from Lin Yao.
Lin didn’t contact Fang after he had slammed the door to leave on the first day of the New Year. Fang just ignored him with the intention of tempering his personality. Lin must have called to ask for peace today.
Fang found an inconspicuous corner and called back.
As expected, although Lin still sounded cold, he was very mild in attitude. Having known Fang was taking part in a TV show, he expressed his willingness to pick up Fang and have a meal together.
Fang said yes immediately.
After he hung up the phone and went back to the make-up chair, He Yuan, the gossipy guy,
came up to ask at once, “Is it from Mr. Lu?”
A cold snort came from the beside chair even before Fang could respond.
Han Jiayue raised his head, “Mr. Lu will attend the press conference of Ye Ran’s new movie. He has promised to pick me up after it.”
Fang heard something about it actually. The movie was designed specially for Ye Ran by the Xingzhou Entertainment which had invested heavily into it. It was conjectured that it was also one of the reasons for Ye to sign with the Xingzhou.
After the press conference ended that afternoon, Lu went to the garage alone and prepared to drive away, but he didn’t expect someone was waiting for him there already.
Holding his arms and leaning against the car door, Ye smiled to watch Lu approaching.
For a moment, Lu fell into a trance as if he had seen that gentle teenager again who used to stand against the classroom door waiting for his class to be over years ago.
Lu Yanzhou controlled his emotion, and asked with a straight face, “What’s up?”
Not minding his coldness, Ye responded kindly, ‘Haven’t seen you for a long time. I want to have a chat with you.”
“About what?”
Ye Ran tilted his head and pretended to think. “Guess why I have promised your brother to come to your company?”
“Not interested,” without any thinking, Lu said.
Ye smiled, “Why are you still so childish as before?”
Lu’s hands, which were hanging both sides, clenched tightly unconsciously. He still remembered the last words of Ye when they broke up years ago. “Can you stop being so childish?”
Not looking at Ye any longer, Lu opened the door, and went to sit on the driver’s seat.
Ye followed to be in the passenger’s seat at once. “I let my driver go back first. Do you mind giving me a ride, Mr. Lu?”
“Yes, I do. I’m gonna pick somebody up.”
“Uh? The one in your office last time?”
Actually Lu had planned to pick up Han Jiayue, but he didn’t want to explain more to Ye, so he just replied, “Yes.”
“He looks very young,” Ye recalled the appearance of Fang.
Lu smiled with a hint of self-mockery, “Perfect match for me who is childish.”
Ye stopped smiling slowly, and spoke no more. There was only silence left in the closed car for the moment.
Quite a while later, Lu heard the guy beside him said in a low voice, “Sorry.”
The door was opened and closed then. Closing his eyes, Lu, feeling discouraged, put his forehead against the steering wheel.
When Lu got to the backstage lounge, he happened to meet Lin Yao who was there to pick up Fang Qiao.
Fang put on his backpack, and was about to go with Lin Yao when Lu Yanzhou unexpectedly grabbed his hand directly without any reason.
Fang got confused, “What’s up, Mr. Lu?”
Lu kept a straight face, “I’ll take you home.”
Fang, “….”
Lin Yao, “…”.
Before Fang could reply, Han protested first. He just spoke to Lu Yanzhou like a spoiled and aggrieved child, “Mr. Lu, what about me? I didn’t even ask my driver to pick me up.”
Lu pointed to Lin Yao. “Let him give you a ride.”
Then he took Fang by hand, and left the lounge directly.
Having been forced to refuse Li Yao once again, Fang complained, “Mr. Lu, why do you want to drive me home suddenly?”
Lu said with absolute certainty and righteousness, “I’ve spent money on you, so I can’t let you go with anyone else.”
Fang burst into laughter, “I didn’t expect you to be so childish.”
Lu was quite sensitive towards the word “childish” today, so when hearing the word again, he got the impulse to throw Fang off his car.
However, Fang didn’t notice the gloom in Lu’s eyes, and he just continued, “But cute and lovely.”
Lu Yanzhou, “…”
In the lounge, Lin Yao still stood there, looking at the direction where the two persons had left with a complicated look.
Until Han’s disgruntled shout came from his back, “What are you looking at? Let’s go.”
