Chapter 30: Several Chapter 30
Chapter 30 Section 30. Several
"Some good news, some bad news."
In the lobby of the Dawn Tavern, which was not open yet, Fast, Bard, Soruman Bronzebeard, Tasia, Martin, and Evelyn gathered around Annan.
"Let me tell you the good news first," said Fast, who was leaning against the window and enjoying the sunset.
Annan exhaled dullly: "Mr. Victor now has an apprentice."
"Very good...very good..." the bard chanted excitedly, and even wanted to play the lute. Fast shut up the bard and asked Annan to continue, "Where's the bad news?"
"Mr. Victor's apprentice is not me, but little Winchet."
The bard's smile froze, Soruman Bronzebeard hammered his chest, Evelin felt sorry for him, Tasia was silent, and only Martin turned around and asked who Little Winchet was.
"Tell me the second good news."
"Mr. Victor provided me with a qualification test."
The bard thought for a while and said: "Okay, although I didn't become Mr. Victor's disciple. But becoming a magic apprentice is not bad?"
"Are you now a mage apprentice?" Soruman Bronzebeard asked, holding her thick beard.
Annan shook his head and said, "I failed the test, I'm just an ordinary person."
Everyone expressed undisguised disappointment. Especially the emotional bard and dwarf Soruman Bronzebeard was even sadder than when Annan saw the magic stone not shining.
"Is there any good news?" Only Fast remained calm.
Suddenly, Martin shouted angrily: "Who the hell is Little Winchet!"
No one paid attention to him. They waited for Annan to continue:
"Mr. Victor said I have the talent to be a warlock."
No one cheered, they continued to stare at Annan: "Where's the bad news?"
"there is none left."
Annan smiled and spread his palms.
However, the ups and downs of emotions made them completely no longer in the mood to celebrate.
The bard tsked and drew his fingernails across the strings. "The beer barrels sent by the caravan have not been moved to the wine cellar yet." Soruman Bronzebeard took Tasia back to the wine cellar. Evelin's face was slightly red with excitement, but because no one cheered, she had to quietly clenched her fists.
"Ouch!!!"
Martin held his head in pain at this time.
"Aunt Susan will be very sad if you don't become a magic apprentice..."
…
"How much do you know about warlocks."
Mr. Victor's grooved cheeks looked like an evil witch under the oil lamp.
"Warlocks tap into the power of blood and awakening. Compared to mages, they can cast spells without complicated learning, or even release spells directly, but they are not as comprehensive as mages..."
Mr. Victor didn't answer, so Annan had no choice but to continue: "They are natural casters, well...the power of blood and awakening also gives them an attraction that is different from ordinary people...and this is also effective for other races... "
Annan suddenly felt that he was a born warlock.
"Basically nothing wrong."
Although Mr. Victor almost has "narrow ideas" written on his face.
He is qualified to do so. Although Mr. Victor is a mage and an apprentice, his knowledge is by no means comparable to that of Annan who only read the book "The Wizard Turns Left and the Warlock Turns Right".
Just a simple comparison: Annan spent a week stumbling to read "The Wizard Turns Left and the Warlock Turns Right". Mr. Victor is in his sixties this year... If he reads "The Master Turns Left, The Warlock Turns Right" every month since he was twenty years old... "Mage Turns Left, Warlock Turns Right", he has read more than 500 books so far——
"What about the mage?" Victor asked again.
"A spellcaster who has magic affinity and can learn to cast spells." Annan answered skillfully. "Through tedious study and understanding of magic, build a spell model and finally release the spell."
There are far more mages than warlocks. If one thousand out of every hundred thousand people can become warriors, ten can become mages, and only one in ten warlocks.
It has nothing to do with strength, just scarcity.
And nine-tenths of these one-tenth warlocks are bloodline warlocks.
For example, as a dragon-born kobold, inheriting the bloodline of his ancestors, the probability of awakening a dragon warlock is extremely high.
Then the old man drove Annan out of the basement.
Annan didn't think there was anything wrong with his answer, so he blamed it on Victor's stubborn temper. He didn't ask what to do next - there was a high probability that when he came to the library tomorrow morning, he would see on the table the warlock's experience that the old man had spent all night copying.
This old man always does good things for himself that make people unable to appreciate them at all——
…
In the evening, Fast watched Annan busy in the tavern with confusion.
A mage's apprentice can be narrowly understood as a mage's assistant, servant, or subordinate. So it's not surprising to work part-time outside. Many famous masters have had the experience of working part-time to make money, because they are really short of money.
But give a sorcerer an apprentice...a sorcerer doesn't have an apprentice. To be a warlock is to be able to cast spells.
Let a warlock work as a waiter, and if the Warlock Protection Association finds out, he, an elite warrior, may be thrown into the bottomless abyss or thrown into the void star field.
But Annan insisted on doing this - the warlock also wanted to make money, not to mention he couldn't cast spells.
At this time, Annan was like a poor boy who took a big ship to the big city to pan for gold. He encountered a shipwreck. He was washed up on the island by the waves and found the treasure buried under the beach.
The lucky guy skipped the hard work and now he just needs to move the treasure out of the island——
"Mr. Fast, I have a question."
"I can't answer the warlock's question."
"It's not a question about warlocks." Annan asked curiously, "Have you ever been a member of an organization?"
Fast's body, lazily leaning against the wooden pillar, suddenly tensed up: "Did Mr. Victor tell you?"
"No, the son of a rich man named Horn."
Annan casually said, "Tasia met a rich man's kid in the library and moved out to Fast, but the guy seemed to know Fast's identity and muttered something."
"I'll talk to his father," Fast said.
I wonder if boys from another world dream about belts.
Annan had no problem and continued to be busy in the tavern.
"Fast, go look in the mirror." The bard said to him, "Your face is full of 'Should I tell that child the truth?'"
Fast, who was still hesitating, put down his doubts and said, "The dust should be swept into the garbage."
After the pub closed, Annan and Martin returned home and fell asleep peacefully with emotions completely opposite to the depression they felt last night.
The next morning, Annan woke up and told Aunt Susan and Uncle Hollin the good news of becoming a warlock. If nothing else happens, the news will spread throughout the town by evening.
After breakfast and going out, Annan listened to people on the street talking about the latest news in the town:
A spirit is said to have appeared in the town.
