Gregori watched as Sylas swung his chains at him. His magic flared as the shield on his back swung out in front of him.
CLANG
The chains made contact with the shield.
As they fell, Gregori pushed out with his magic once again sending the shield into Sylas and sending him to the ground.
Instead of attacking him, Gregori leapt over him and into the Freljordian group
The Freljordian axe in his left hand slammed into a man, using the same motion, he pushed himself forward using the top of his Demacian axe to stab the next opponent. The momentum dislodged the first axe which he used to block the blade on his right.
He pulled his right axe but it did not budge. He looked up and saw the person he stabbed holding onto the top of the axe, refusing to let it be pulled out.
"Wow." He grunted as he summoned the shield pushing Sylas into the ground.
It flew upward to block an attack flying to him neck
Instead of pulling, he decided to push forward.
The mans screamed as it pushed into his torso.
Gregori noted his grip on the axe loosened and pulled it free, immediately swinging it sideways into the torso of another warrior.
WHOOSH
An axe flew toward his head. Instead of ducking the attack he pulled on the body that was just impaled to take the blow for him. Then he jumped to the side, using the tip of the axe to impale another man while already being embedded in a warrior.
He grunted as he swung the other axe, cleaving through incoming attackers. Two bodies fell.
And Gregori rose to full height as blood covered his person.
The initial burst of attacks had scared those surrounding him. They formed a circle around him and watched him.
Gregori constantly spun his head around. A singular misstep would mean harm on his person that would be causing him pain for quite a bit longer.
The group then split as Sylas pushed through, Gregori felt the pressure rise. The reason he had thrown himself into the crowd was to give him enough time. Sylas wouldn't be able to attack him if he surrounded himself with the Freljordians. But that wasn't possible now.
"No running now." Sylas taunted as he swung his chains forward, both ends slamming at a singular point. His head.
He summoned the shield to him and threw the axe in his left hand. Slipping his hand into the shield, he braced for impact.
At the same time, the axe he threw began to spin and flew into the crowd surrounding him.
"BACK OFF!" Sylas yelled. "He will kill you if you come close. I will take care of him."
The group seemed unsure but then backed off. The axe missed the first group and landed to the ground as Gregori felt himself sink into the ground from the impact of the chains.
BANG
The sounds of battle erupted from all around them.
Gregori smiled under the shield, the groups had finally clashed.
Suddenly the weight of the chains disappeared, anticipating the incoming attack, Gregori rolled to the side as he narrowly avoided the chain flying to his head.
"You are defending Demacia?" Sylas asked, "While they kill our kind?"
Gregori stood up and readied himself, "I didn't come here voluntarily. My goal was to just leave but things had to become complicated."
"No amount of complications would be enough to explain these actions." Sylas spoke as she swung his chains in order to get a hold of Gregori.
Gregori used his shield to slap it away. "When it pertains to a weapon that can destroy the entire kingdom.... it becomes just enough to justify my presence."
"Demacia has a weapon like that?" Sylas lunged close to Gregori.
Gregori threw his axe at the lunging man, "They cannot use it without killing themselves. But currently they are holding my weapons hostage."
"Your weapons?" Sylas asked ash he slapped the axe away with his chain. "You didn't use them in the previous battle." He swung both chains sideways.
Gregori let himself be carried to the side from the impact of the chains. He couldn't let Sylas touch him. That was how he stole his magic. The entire fight had to happen without contact.
Contact on one side.
"Didn't need to." Gregori smirked, "You don't need an army to hunt a boar."
Sylas grit his teeth and lunged.

Garen ran into the fray while swinging his massive sword. Instead of cutting through the enemies, the weapon sent them into the air.
He felt something slam into his side.
An axe.
Nothing Demacian armor couldn't stop.
He swung his sword in the direction of the attacker and snapped the man in half. The axe cluttered to the ground as he rushed to the next man.
Watching the death of their comrades didn't stop the others from attacking, instead they chose to overwhelm him with numbers. Four of the enemies attacked him at once. Garen spun his sword around himself, the sheer force of which knocked a couple of them off their feet. He then brought his sword down on the only one who withstood the attack. His head broke open like a watermelon.
He raised his sword into the air and yelled, "FOR DEMACIAA!"
At his words, the Demacian Vanguard that stood near him echoed the chant and ran to face their enemies. They all had different weapons. Some swung two swords while some opted for only one. Some chose to wield a sword and a shield.
But it did not matter.
They had armor.
Armor the Freljordians did not have.
But what they did have were beasts.
The Wildclaws tore through the enemies.... armor and all. Anytime a soldier came to land a blow on the Wildclaw, its rider stabbed at them with his spear. Managing distance between the creature and the enemy.
But that didn't make the Demacian's defenseless.
The rider wasn't sat on the beast for long as a Silverwing swooped down and picked him off. Rising into the sky, it dropped the rider from a distance just large enough to kill her or at least leave her crippled.
And in a battlefield, she either died on the spot or died from getting stepped on in the stampede.
Rayn and the mages moved as a team. Each using their magic to debilitate the soldiers and then killing them.
Her magic made them see their worst fears and pulled them into a dream like state while the rest used their magic to kill them. Adam and Mary were the most useful on the battlefield however, their synergy went beyond their use of magic. Partners in life were often connected in ways that were unknown. Mary raised her hand as vines grew from the ground entangling the soldiers while Adam shot rocks through their skulls. As soldiers moved close to them, his hands let out a burst of air knocking them back. Then vines grew around trapping them in place for Adam to pick up some rocks and send them to the meet The Wolf.
"DIE!" Vrynna screamed as she swung her spear in an arc. She had felled five soldiers already. But she wasn't alone.
The Sisters of Frost stood behind her, every enemy she faced was affected by dark magic. Their mind clouded and their body sluggish, they stood no chance against an enraged Vrynna. She had been called the Woebringer for a reason.
Out of everyone, Xin Zhao seemed to be having it the hardest. He span his spear over his shoulder as he blocked the jagged blade coming toward him.
But as his weapon made contact with the blade, a layer of frost spread across it. But that wasn't it. He stepped to the side dodging the second blade going for his chest. He brought the spear downward trying to cut into their leather but the jagged blade rose to block it.
One Iceborn was hard enough.... but two needed a miracle.
He grunted as the frost climbed up the shaft of his spear and into his arms.
The other blade came flying toward his torso as he dropped his spear and kicked the nearest Iceborn away.
He spun the other way with a heel kick to the end of spear, he sent it flying into the shoulder of attacking Iceborn.
The man roared in pain but continued his swing.
Xin Zhao ducked under the attack and sent a punch at the man's head. His head snapped back from the blow.
Using this opportunity, he pulled out the spear and fully went through with the motion leaving it as the other Iceborn swung his blade. The butt end of the spear hit the man but he seemed unfazed as the blade continued its trajectory.
Xin moved close to the man and held his arm with his left hand. His right hand shot straight to the man's head and rattled him. The man's arms dropped as he the blow hit. Xin used the moment to send a spinning elbow into the man's jaw.
He crumpled like a sack of potatoes.
But Iceborn weren't that easy to defeat. A kick landed to his side as he went flying into the ground. The other Iceborn moved his sword up in the direction of Xin and roared once again.
Xin clambered to his feet and shook his head. "What was that?" He muttered. A simple front kick had sent him flying. "I am getting too old for this." He raised both hands and looked at the Iceborn. His eyes widened as he noticed the second one begin to rise.
"What even are they?" He grunted.
