NOVEL WEB Chapter 5: Taking the Money
Arriving at the office at one o'clock in the afternoon, Light had been waiting almost an hour for the lawyers and his sister to come to the meeting room.
He had travelled all the way from Oxford to London in a taxi because he had lost trust in people and it had cost him a lot of money.

"So mum has already planned everything, huh? We don't even need to make a move...Although each of the companies has grown by more than 30% since I took over, we need to calculate them too." Even though these words coming out of Petunia's mouth made Light happy, he knew how huge the share he would get from these companies would be.
That's why Light suddenly turned to his sister and said, "Sis...You did all this, I only want the part that I inherited, please don't transfer your assets to me." He made it clear to his sister that she should keep her endeavours.

Now only Petunia and Light were standing in the meeting room of the office.
"Aren't you going to tell me what happened?" Petunia suddenly asked, and Light, who heard these words, tried to remove the doubts on himself by saying "Of course, I am" in a trembling way.
After his sister's suspicious look, Light started to talk about a lie that was not a lie at all:
"I know I'm being very selfish, but ....sis, I'm very tired now. I just want to go to the countryside and build an incredibly safe house where there is almost no one and rest there. I didn't want to touch a piece of the money my parents left me, but now that we have shared everything, I have almost 7,000,000,000 pounds. Maybe I can buy a big compound somewhere where I won't attract too much attention. I can live the rest of my life."
When Light finished his words, Petunia looked at him deeply and caressed Light's cheeks with her tired hands.
"My sweet little little brother. If that's what you want, you can do whatever you want, if it happens and you run out of money in any way, I will always be here. Don't forget, your sister will be with you no matter what you do, including killing people. Your sister loves you very much, my dear."
