Chapter 24: Chapter 24- Small Garden
[In the DxD world, half an hour before Haru disappears]
Haru is leaving Kuoh Academy after stopping by the student council to help with Tsubaki's work, since she still isn't walking very well. She stayed at Haru's house after using a magic circle, right after they left the motel.
Following close behind Haru is a brown-haired boy glaring at him with hatred.
'That bastard, not only did he take the student council president, but he also took my Buchou. After I woke up, I gave my arm to the dragon to save Buchou, but he saved her first while I was unconscious. When I left the room, not knowing how long I was out, Asia appeared and told me that Haru-senpai saved Rias Buchou. Now she lives with him and the student council president. That destroyed my dream of having a harem with Buchou in it.'
"You wouldn't have a harem anyway, you eunuch," a green light appeared on Issei's left arm and spoke.
"Shut up, stupid dragon. I'll definitely get my revenge. I have the Boosted Gear, a sacred gear with the power to kill a god. A human like Haru Kurokami is nothing compared to a god," Issei said proudly of the power given by the dragon he called stupid.
"I'll start training to wipe out Kurokami's kind," Issei said, running off to a random place.
'What did I do to deserve a useless partner like this?' *Ddraig thought, going to sleep in his new arm that he got for free.*
[Scene Change]
Arriving at the gate of the Little Garden city, Haru accompanied Kuro Usagi, along with Kudou Asuka, Kasukabe Yo, and her cat.
"Young master! I brought new people," the girl Kuro Usagi called young master raised her head.
"Welcome back, Kuro Usagi. Those three young people!?"
"Yes, that's right, these four…" Kuro Usagi suddenly turned her head and immediately froze in place.
"What? Wasn't there another one here? A gentleman with an evil look, who loves to fight, and an aura of a vandal emanating from his entire body?"
"Oh, Izayoi-kun? He said, 'I'll take a look at the edge of the world and be back quickly!' and ran off."
"In that direction," where she pointed, they saw a cliff from which they had fallen from a height of 4,000 meters.
Kuro Usagi, stunned, standing in the middle of the road, began questioning them with disheveled ears:
"Why didn't you stop him?!"
"Because he said, 'Don't stop me.'"
"Then why didn't you tell Kuro Usagi about it?!"
"Because he said, 'Don't tell Kuro Usagi about it.'"
"That's a lie! You're lying! You must have thought it would be too troublesome, right?"
"Yes," Asuka said expressionlessly.
Usagi fell to her knees. She truly envied the recent past when she was excited about the arrival of new talents. To think, they all turned out to be problem children… there must be a limit to these torments.
Haru looked at Kuro Usagi and said, "I'm not a problem child."
"Don't read my mind!" Kuro Usagi shouted, standing up.
The boy at the gate of the Little Garden city turned pale. "This is terrible! At the End of the World, there are many mythical animals used in Gift Games!"
"Mythical animals?" Asuka asked curiously.
"Yes, this term is used to describe animals with Gifts. In particular, not far from the End of the World, there are animals with powerful Gifts. Encountering them means the end; no one can resist them!"
"Oh, what a shame. Game over already for him?" Asuka said.
"Game over before the game even starts? …Witty," Kasukabe said.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Haru said.
"Whose side are you on, Haru-san?" Asuka said with elegance.
"Nobody's."
"Now's not the time for jokes," the little boy tried to seriously point out the reality of the situation. The two girls and Haru just shrugged in response.
Kuro Usagi began to breathe deeply.
"Haa… young master, I'm sorry, but can I leave them with you?"
"Sure. What are you going to do, Kuro Usagi?" the little boy asked.
"Kuro Usagi is going to catch that bully, and when I do, I'll make him regret disrespecting me, one of the highlights of the Little Garden!"
Usagi recovered from her stress and began radiating a furious aura. Her hair changed from black to pink.
Aiming for the Outer Gates, she leaped high and quickly started running across the statues carved into the gates. Clinging to one of the gate's pillars, she stood horizontally and said, "We'll be back quickly!"
Her pink hair fluttered as she jumped off the gate, leaving cracks in the pillar. Usagi used all her strength for the leap and was carried away at the speed of a bullet. She immediately disappeared from their field of vision.
'I bet I can't see her stats either,' *Haru thought, seeing her speed surpass the limit of his Observation Haki.*
Straightening her hair after a strong gust of wind, Kudou Asuka murmured, "…Rabbits in the Little Garden can jump really fast. It's truly commendable."
"They're part of the family of the Little Garden's Creator. She's not just strong but also has many Gifts, plus a special power due to her noble birth. Unless she encounters a particularly strong mythical animal, everything should be fine, I think…" the little boy said.
"I see."
"Well, Usagi said we should look around, so let's take her offer and enter the Little Garden. Will you be our guide?" Asuka said to the little boy.
"Oh, yes. I'm Gene Russell, the leader of this community. I just turned 11 and am still inexperienced, but I hope we get along. What are your names?"
He has teal hair, with his bangs falling on the outer sides, leaving some space on his forehead, and a small tuft of hair on top. He has bluish eyes. He wears an Arabian-style outfit, apparently, his hands are barely visible, and the tunic fits him perfectly, making his shoes invisible.
"Kudou Asuka."
"Kasukabe Yo."
"Kurokami Haru."
After the introductions, Jin, Asuka, Yo, and Haru bowed to each other.
"Then, let's enter the Little Garden… maybe we can talk over dinner?"
Asuka took Gene's hand and crossed the Outer Gates with a bright smile.
'Maybe she likes little boys,' *Haru thought, seeing the beautiful smile on her face for the first time.*
[Scene Change]
The five, including Jin, Asuka, Haru, Yo, and the tricolored cat, arrived on the other side of the sky after passing through a stone passage.
At that moment, a radiant light swept over them.
Everywhere they looked, they saw incredible buildings and a sky covering the city.
Looking at the city with buildings stretching toward the sky, they tilted their heads in confusion.
"This sky covering the Little Garden is transparent from the inside. It was installed to protect species that don't tolerate direct sunlight," Jin said.
Looking at the blue sky, Asuka raised her eyebrows and remarked in an ironic tone, "An interesting story. Can vampires live in this city?"
"Well… they do live here," Jin said.
"I see…"
Different emotions mixed on Asuka's face. She didn't know what kind of life these vampires led, but she didn't think they'd live in the same city as everyone else.
Haru ignored Yo talking and looked at the city, seeing countless different beings.
After Asuka chose a café, the four sat at a café with the Six Scars flag. A young woman with cat ears approached to take their order.
"Welcome! What can I do for you?"
"Let's see… three black teas and one green. And for a snack… this… and that."
"Yes, yes. Four cups of tea and food for the gentleman."
"Hm?" Asuka and Jin tilted their heads in confusion. But even more surprised was Kasukabe Yo. With eyes as if she saw something incredible, she asked the waitress:
"You understand what my cat says?"
"Of course, I belong to the cat race. This knight has a charming coat for his age, so I'll provide extra services."
'Lucky cat,' *Haru thought, watching the interaction.* 'I bet if I had the Voice of All Things, I could hear that cat too.'
"Oh, sir, you speak so sweetly ♪."
The cat-eared girl returned to the shop, wagging her tail.
'That cat already won her over, just like that. Wait until I equip the Lady Killer title and sweep every girl in the city,' *Haru thought, glaring at the cat with challenging eyes. The cat, seeing this, did the same.*
Asuka interrupted their standoff.
"Wait a second. You can talk to cats?" Asuka asked with an unusually excited voice.
Yo nodded.
Jin was also delighted and started asking questions.
Haru looked at the money and saw that the Berry from One Piece had been converted to this world's currency. He quickly vanished using Sonido to go shopping and explore the city.
[Scene Change]
Haru bought countless different clothes and ate foods he'd never tried before.
'This place is amazing,' *Haru thought, paying for a new outfit (the one from the cover, without the sun-shaped earring on the left ear).*
"Hm?" 'What's this?'
Arriving at a place, Haru saw a cooking competition where the best chef would win enough supplies for a year.
'Izayoi got water, so maybe I should win the food. But first, I'll buy Sanji and Soma's cooking skills,' *he thought with a smile, purchasing their cooking skills. Soma's was 10,000 tokens, and Sanji's was 20,000.*
[Cooking: Sanji ~ Soma: All Food Restores 100,000 HP, 100,000 MP, 50,000 SP, Increases All Stats by 20%]
'Now we're talking,' *Haru thought, seeing his cooking skill and knowledge flood his mind, causing a bit of pain.*
The competition began, with Haru dominating everyone with various exotic dishes.
After thirty minutes, the competition ended with Haru easily winning and a group of satisfied judges.
'Well, time to head back. I can already sense Izayoi entering the city with Usagi,' *Haru thought.*
Haru then headed toward them with a ton of food supplies being carried by people he didn't even know.
[Scene Change]
Meeting Kuro Usagi and Izayoi, Haru greeted them.
"Yo, Izayoi, Kuro Usagi."
"How's it going, Haru?" Izayoi asked, waving with a smile.
"Good. The city's better than I thought."
"Haru-san, who are those people behind you?" Kuro Usagi asked, looking at them.
"Oh! Them? They're carrying the food supplies I won in a competition or Gift Game, I don't remember what it was."
Kuro Usagi froze in shock. First, Izayoi defeated a deity in a Gift Game, and now Haru won food supplies in a Gift Game too. Truly problem children.
Haru and Izayoi, seeing her like that, exchanged a quick glance. Each appeared on one side behind her, Haru on the right and Izayoi on the left, and then…
*SLAP*
They smacked her butt. Kuro Usagi screamed in pain and surprise.
She started muttering on the ground that her purity, which she protected for 200 years, had been corrupted.
"200 years," Haru said.
"Yeah, unbelievable, right?" Izayoi said.
"That's… stupid," Haru said, looking at her on the ground.
"We'd better find the others before it gets dark," Izayoi said.
So they left, leaving Kuro Usagi on the ground. When Kuro Usagi snapped out of her shock and surprise, she saw the two far away.
"WAIT!" she shouted, running after them.
[Scene Change]
They met at the fountain square under the setting sun, and hearing what happened, Kuro Usagi's rabbit ears stood on end. This always happened when she was angry. Teachings and questions like a storm flew back and forth until the end of the day.
"H-how did you meet the leader of Fores Garo and even get into a fight in such a short time?! Plus, the game is happening tomorrow?! And it's on enemy territory! We don't have time or money to prepare! What were you thinking?! Hey, do you ever listen to me?!" Kuro Usagi said angrily.
"We offered, and now we're thinking about our actions," the three said in unison.
"Shut up!" Kuro Usagi raged in response, which seemed to have been planned in advance, probably under someone's pretext.
Izayoi and Haru, watching the scene with a smile, decided to add fuel to the fire.
"It's okay. It doesn't seem like they randomly got into a fight. Forgive them," Izayoi said.
"Yeah, it's not a big deal. It'll be fine, forgive the kids," Haru said.
"Maybe you think it's fine as long as it's interesting, but the only thing we gain from this game is personal satisfaction, you know? Look at this Geass Scroll."
The Geass Scroll that Kuro Usagi showed was a gift necessary for those without the right to organize to become the Master and start the game.
(A Geass Scroll has the function of forcing someone to do something. There would be a compulsion to adhere to the contract written in the scroll. If the contract was broken, they risked blindness or losing their life.)
The game's details, rules, bets, and prizes were described in it, and the seals of the host community leaders were placed on it. The prize section pointed out by Kuro Usagi was as follows: If the players win, the Leader admits all their crimes against the players and, after receiving punishment according to the Little Garden's laws, the Community will be dissolved. Well, that truly fits the definition of personal satisfaction. 'Due to the deadline, we consciously accepted the risk of losing evidence to support our claims,' *Haru thought in the end.*
'Noticing that Asuka's bet was tolerance for the crime, this applies not only to this moment; they'll be forced to remain silent forever,' *Haru thought, looking at the Geass Scroll.*
"But over time, their crimes will still come to light. After all, the meaning of the children, well…" Haru said, *'I don't understand. Everyone dies someday, so why care so much about children who've been gone for a long time?'* Haru thought, not understanding why they cared about the dead.
Kuro Usagi shrank. She had also heard of Fores Garo's bad reputation but didn't think the situation had worsened to such a terrible state.
That's right, the hostages are already in another world. If they pursue this, the truth will surely come out. But it's also true that it'll take some time, and they don't want to wait to expose the bastard.
After all, the Little Garden's laws only apply within the city. Outside it, there were lawless lands where communities of various races lived by their own laws and rules.
If he escapes, he won't be judged by the Little Garden's laws anymore. But given the obligations the Geass Scroll imposes, they'll be able to pursue Galdo with the help of the powerful Geass, no matter how far he escapes.
"There's more, Kuro Usagi. I can't let a bastard like him be near me because of my morality and other things. If we let him go now, he'll surely come after us," Asuka said.
"W-well… it'll be a problem if we let him go."
"I don't want to let Galdo escape either. A criminal like him shouldn't roam freely," Jin said, sharing the same opinion, and Kuro Usagi nodded, yielding to them.
"Haa… it's useless arguing with you. Fine, I also agree it's annoying. Something like Fores Garo can be easily handled by Izayoi-san alone," Kuro Usagi said, placing her hopes in Izayoi. Fores Garo could also be easily handled by Haru, but she didn't know that.
"What did you say? You know I'm not going?" Izayoi said.
"Of course, I won't let you participate," Asuka said.
"I'm out too. This has nothing to do with me; it's your problem," Haru said, wanting to stay out of it.
"Fine, Haru-san, I expected you to participate," Asuka said, hearing Haru.
Kuro Usagi exploded in embarrassed rage. "That's not okay! You're comrades in a community; you should act together!"
"That's not how it works, Kuro Usagi," a serious expression appeared on Izayoi's face as he stopped Kuro Usagi with his right hand.
"Listen carefully. They started the game themselves, and the other guys agreed. It'd be bad form to intervene."
"Oh, you understood the situation well," Asuka said.
"Ahh, God, do what you want," Usagi said.
Hearing all sorts of banter all day, Kuro Usagi had no strength left to oppose. *'It's just a game where we lose nothing, so it'll be fine,'* she thought, dropping her shoulders.
[Scene Change]
Kuro Usagi stood up from her chair and carefully took the water tree sapling that was to her left. She coughed before speaking.
"We have to go now. Indeed, we reserved a wonderful restaurant and prepared many other things for your meeting, but… due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone everything to another day."
"It's okay, don't push yourself so hard. Our community is already in a critical state, right?" Asuka said.
Surprised, Kuro Usagi immediately looked at Jin. His apologetic face showed that the current state of the Community had become known to the girls and Haru, but she didn't know that he hadn't heard anything, though he knew. Red in the ears, Kuro Usagi timidly lowered her head.
"M-my apologies. I felt terrible for betraying you, but… Kuro Usagi and the others are desperate."
"It's fine. I don't care about the group's level. What about you, Kasukabe-san? Haru-san?"
Kuro Usagi timidly looked at Yo and Haru's faces. Yo shook her head indifferently. Haru said, "Doesn't matter."
Yo said that, if possible, a bath, a place to sleep, and three meals a day.
"Those guys following me are carrying food supplies, so meals won't be a problem," Haru said, pointing his thumb backward.
"So that's it. I thought it was weird but didn't say anything," Asuka said.
Yo, seeing Jin's face, was about to respond, but Kuro Usagi was faster.
"If that's all, then there's no problem! Izayoi-san got such a big water tree sapling! With this, we no longer need to buy water, and the canal will be restored ♪."
Yo's face began to glow with happiness. Asuka also calmed down upon hearing this.
"In my country, water is a common thing, so I bathe every day, but culture varies greatly in different places. Today, I was thrown into a lake for no reason, so I really want a bath."
"I agree. I wouldn't like to repeat that greeting," Asuka said.
"Ah… I couldn't control myself…" Izayoi said.
"I'd like a bath too," Haru said casually, looking at Kuro Usagi.
Kuro Usagi was startled by the sight of the summoned quartet that seemed ready to attack her. Jin smiled beside her.
"Haha… back to our community?" Jin said.
"Ah, young master, please go back first. The game is already tomorrow, so I want all the Gifts to be evaluated by Thousand Eyes. There's still business with this water tree."
"Thousand Eyes? Is that the community's name?" Asuka asked.
"Yes, Thousand Eyes is a collection of Communities, each with a special type of Eye. It's a huge commercial community that knows every corner of the Little Garden. Fortunately, there's a shop nearby," Kuro Usagi explained for those who didn't understand.
"What's the Gift evaluation?" Asuka asked.
"Revealing your strength and hidden origin. If you have the right idea about your abilities, you can develop them further. Are you curious about the origin of your abilities?"
Mixed expressions appeared on the quartet's faces while Kuro Usagi searched for the right arguments. They all had their own thoughts, but no one objected, so Kuro Usagi, Izayoi, Asuka, Haru, and Yo went to Thousand Eyes.
Along the way, Izayoi, Asuka, and Yo looked at the city with great interest. Haru had already explored the city, so he didn't pay much attention.
Looking at the green street lit by city lamps, Asuka murmured in surprise, "Cherry blossoms… or not? Their petals are different and shouldn't bloom in the middle of summer."
"…I thought it was autumn," Yo said.
"Hm?" The three looked at each other and tilted their heads. Kuro Usagi smiled and explained, "You were summoned from different worlds, outside your timeline, history, culture, ecosystem, and some other parameters. Everything will be different."
"Oh? You mean parallel worlds?"
"The correct term would be the ring of intersection of parallel worlds… but if I start explaining now, it'll take more than a day, so let's leave it for another time."
Kuro Usagi turned to them. They seemed to have arrived. Two goddesses dressed in blue stood face-to-face on a shop sign, probably the Thousand Eyes emblem.
Kuro Usagi tried to stop the clerk, who was taking down the sign at the end of the day: Closed.
"Wait…"
"We won't wait, dear customer. We don't work overtime."
…She didn't hear an attempt to stop her. Kuro Usagi looked irritably at the employee.
They truly were an economic giant. It wasn't uncommon to refuse persistent customers.
"In this shop, the spirit of negotiation is no longer felt."
"I agree! It's indecent to close the door on a buyer five minutes before closing!"
"If you have any objections, you can go elsewhere. Now you're forbidden from communicating with us. You're banned."
'Banned,' *Haru thought, watching the situation.*
"Banned?! Issuing such a ban… you're very disdainful of your customers?"
The clerk dealt with Kuro Usagi, who was causing a commotion, with a disdainful voice and a cold stare.
"Of course, directly ignoring the rabbit, the High Light of the Little Garden, is rude. I'll ask for permission inside. May I know the name of your community?"
"Ooh."
Kuro Usagi shrank, but Izayoi gave the name without hesitation: "We're the No Name community."
"Oh, what No Name community could it be? May I check your emblem?"
He fell silent. These were precisely the problems of the No Name Community, without a name or emblem.
All eyes focused on Kuro Usagi. Her grimace showed she was truly upset, and she murmured in a weak voice, "It's… um… we don't have an emblem…"
"Yayayaya Uhuuuu! Long time no see, Kuro Usagi!"
Kuro Usagi was hugged, or perhaps it was more appropriate to call it an attack by a flying body, by a white-haired girl in a kimono who ran wildly out of the shop. They rolled four times, hitting the canal on the other side of the road.
"Kya!…"
"Plush." The scream intensified.
Izayoi rolled his eyes, and the employee's face shrank.
'Plush, I don't get it,' *Haru thought.*
"…Hey, employee, does this shop offer a Surprise People service? Then try a different version for me."
"No such service exists."
"I'll pay if there isn't."
"I won't do it."
Izayoi's expression was serious, and the employee refused outright with a serious face.
The white-haired girl who attacked Kuro Usagi buried her face in her chest.
"Shi-Shiroyasha-sama?! Why are you here?"
Shiroyasha has golden eyes and white hair that reaches her shoulders, but with a kind of 'ponytail' at the back that extends to her back. She has two black hair strands on each side of her head and wears two hair strands tied into pigtails. Shiroyasha has messy bangs covering her forehead and two strands framing her face. She has pointed elf-like ears.
Her outfit is a short black yukata-style dress with blue stripes and white polka dots at the ends (sleeves, hem, and collar) and white fabric at the sleeve and skirt edges. She wears a light pink sash around her waist with a purple cord holding a silver demon-face pendant. At the back of her waist, there's a long dark blue bow with a long ribbon. Shiroyasha wears long white stockings with black shoes.
"I had a feeling Kuro Usagi would come at this hour! Fufufufufu Hoho! The feeling of touching the rabbit is truly great! Well, are you satisfied here or here?" She said, groping all over Kuro Usagi's body.
'She said she defended her purity for over 200 years? But seeing this now, there's no doubt it was a lie,' *Haru thought, watching Kuro Usagi being groped all over.*
"Shi-Shiroyasha-sama! Please let me go!"
Tearing Shiroyasha off her, she grabbed her head and threw her into the shop.
The girl rolling on the ground was stopped by Izayoi's foot.
"Hnn."
"Ghia!" Who uses their leg to stop a girl flying toward them, someone they just met?
"Izayoi-sama, I hope we become friends, loli in Japanese clothes," Izayoi laughed, introducing himself.
Asuka, stunned by the chain of events, seemed to remember something and turned to Shiroyasha: "Are you from this shop?"
"Oh, right. I'm Shiroyasha-sama, one of the leaders of Thousand Eyes, young lady. If this request is work-related, I'll handle it in exchange for a touch of your well-developed chest."
"Lady, we won't profit that way. The boss will get angry."
With an eternally calm voice, the employee joined the conversation.
Kuro Usagi, holding her wet clothes and miniskirt, emerged from the canal and murmured with mixed feelings: "Uh… I didn't even think about getting wet."
"Divine punishment… probably."
"As she said."
"Fufu, so you're Kuro Usagi's new comrades. These otherworlders standing before me mean… Kuro Usagi will finally end up in my bed."
'If she didn't have that loli body, I wouldn't hesitate to take her to my bed,' *Haru thought, listening to the conversation.*
"That'll never happen!" Kuro Usagi's rabbit ears were full of anger.
'Why do her ears turn red?' *Haru thought.*
"Well, if you have questions, I'll hear them in the shop," Shiroyasha said.
"Is that normal? They're No Name without an emblem, per the rules."
"My apologies for this rude employee who asked for the name, knowing you were No Name. I assure you, if the boss looks at you, I'll take responsibility. Come in."
The employee pouted. She was simply following the rules to avoid being held accountable for offending visitors. The six went behind the curtain, glancing at the employee, and entered a vast artificial courtyard, which was impossible to guess from looking at the shop from outside.
Looking at the main entrance, you could see rare masterpieces displayed in the window.
"Unfortunately, the shop is closed. Forgive me, I have to spend all this in my room."
The six passed through a Japanese-style courtyard and stopped near the hallway.
Behind the sliding paper doors was a room where the five were invited, and there seemed to be incense, whose scent carried by the wind tickled the nose.
Shiroyasha, who sat in a place of honor in this room that seemed too large for one person, extended her hand and turned to Izayoi and the others. If anyone noticed, only Haru noticed the kimono drying at some point.
"I'll introduce myself again. I'm Shiroyasha, the leader of the Thousand Eyes Community, located at Level Four of Gate No. 3345. Kuro Usagi and I have a not-so-long history here. I'd prefer if you thought of me as a beautiful girl who helped her since her community's collapse."
"Yes, yes, you really helped us," Kuro Usagi echoed her words. Sitting beside Kuro Usagi, Yo tilted her head and asked, "What are these gates?"
"These are the gates on the outer wall that exist to indicate the Little Garden's levels. The lower the number, the stronger the inhabitants there."
"This place, the Little Garden, is divided into seven levels, from top to bottom, and all the gates separating them are numbered."
'Seriously, what kind of monster lives at the top?' *Haru thought, hearing this.*
The Little Garden map that Kuro Usagi took out was divided into several layers by gates.
"…A huge arc?"
"No, but yes, a huge sand cake in the shape of a tower."
"That's right. I'd also say Sand Cake."
The quartet nodded in agreement.
"Fufu, a good comparison. If you use it, the seventh gate will be the thinnest layer of the cake. So far, we're here. Outside the eastern gate, there's a place that rises above the End of the World. Those who live there don't belong to communities and possess powerful Gifts, like the former owner of this water tree."
Shiroyasha laughed and looked at the water tree sapling Kuro Usagi was holding. Shiroyasha suggested the snake god living at Triton's waterfall.
"By the way, who defeated him, and what kind of game was it? A knowledge contest? A test of courage?"
"No, no. Izayoi defeated the Snake God with his own hands before coming here," Kuro Usagi said proudly, and Shiroyasha raised her voice in surprise.
"What?! He didn't choose a game but defeated him himself?! So this kid is a genius with Divinity?"
"I don't think so."
"Then how can you say that after one look?"
"Right. But the only way to defeat a Divinity is to have Divinity, or the balance of power between races would collapse. If we compare the strength of races, a human would be an acorn compared to a snake."
Divinity doesn't mean a naturally born god but a Gift that maximizes the body.
If a snake receives Divinity, it becomes a great snake god.
If a human receives Divinity, they become a god or living genius.
If an ogre receives Divinity, it becomes a fierce god, capable of shaking heaven and earth.
Moreover, Divinity enhances the power of other Gifts. Many communities in the Little Garden set receiving Divinity as their first goal to achieve their objectives, gathering strength to aim for higher levels.
"Shiroyasha-sama, are you familiar with this snake god?"
"Not just familiar, it's because I endowed him with Divinity. Though that's an old story."
Puffing out her small chest, Shiroyasha laughed warmly.
'I see, so it's possible to gain Divinity even as a human. I wonder if she'd give me Divinity,' *Haru thought, listening to Shiroyasha.*
