A New Life As A Player

Inside the whale, the five saw a small island with a cabin.

- Is Luffy okay? *Haru asked.*

- What do I think?

- What should I think? I'm such an idiot; I thought we'd been swallowed by a whale. Is this a dream? *Sanji asked.*

- It's a dream, that's what I was thinking. *Zoro said.*

No one cared about what happened to Luffy. A giant squid appeared in the middle of what looked like the ocean.

- A GIANT SQUID! *Nami and Usopp shouted.*

When Haru, Sanji, and Zoro were about to attack the squid, it was pierced by three harpoons. While Zoro and Sanji talked, Usopp noticed that Luffy was gone. Seeing Nami's state, Haru went to hug her to calm her down.

- A ship. *Haru said.*

- Let's shoot it; we have to blow up the island with the cannon. *Usopp said.*

- Wait, someone's coming out. *Sanji said.*

Sanji saw something and said it was a flower. But then he realized it was an old man. Sanji and Usopp started talking about whether he was fishing for the squid or saving them. Sanji saw the old man looking at them and shouted for him to say something. Usopp started shouting, saying that if he wanted a fight, they had cannons. Haru thought they were idiots again for not judging someone's strength. The guy might be old, but Haru knew he could take them all out without breaking a sweat.

Sanji asked who would die, and the old man replied, "Me." Zoro asked who the old man was and where they were. The old man asked if where Zoro came from, they didn't teach manners. Then the old man introduced himself without letting Zoro introduce himself. Zoro ended up shouting if he could kill him now.

- You want to know where you are? First, you invade my resort, then you start asking me questions. What do you think this looks like, a rat's stomach? *Crocus said.*

- So we were swallowed by the whale. *Usopp said.*

- What's going to happen to us? I don't want to be digested. *Nami asked, still hugging Haru.*

- The exit is over there. *Crocus said, pointing to a door.*

- THERE'S AN EXIT! *Sanji and Usopp shouted.*

- Why the hell is there an exit in a whale's stomach? *Sanji asked.*

- How can there be an exit in the sky? *Nami asked.*

- Look closely, Nami. The clouds aren't moving, and this is the whale's stomach, so this sky is fake. *Haru explained.*

After the place started shaking, Nami saw that the island was a metal ship. She realized that if they stayed longer, the ship would be dissolved. Crocus said the whale started banging its head against the Red Line. Nami remembered seeing a bunch of scars on its head and that it was screaming upward. Usopp started saying that was the old man's plan and that he was trying to kill the whale. Zoro said the mystery was solved and they should get out of there before they ended up dead. Sanji agreed they should leave. Then Crocus dove into the water. Usopp thought he went for the exit. Zoro said they also needed to get out and row to the exit. Then they heard a scream and saw Luffy falling. Luffy asked if everyone was okay and asked Zoro for help.

- Besides Luffy, I saw two weirdos falling too. *Sanji said.*

- Hey, the old man's escaping. *Usopp said.*

- Forget him; we need to rescue Luffy first. *Zoro said.*

After they pulled Luffy and the other two out, the whale calmed down. The other two were whispering to each other when…

- As long as I'm breathing, you won't lay a finger on Laboon! *Crocus shouted.*

Then the two stood up, grabbing their weapons, saying that now that they were inside, it would be easier to make a hole in the stomach. They fired with weapons that looked like bazookas shooting cannonballs. Crocus jumped in front of the cannonballs, defending the whale. Usopp asked what was going on, and Nami didn't understand anything. When the two thieves were about to fire again, Luffy hit them. After tying up the two thieves, the Straw Hats went to Crocus's ship. There, Crocus explained the situation with the whale and that she had been waiting for her friends to return for fifty years.

Then they started leaving the whale through the tunnel. Crocus explained that he was a doctor and had been a ship's doctor for a while. Luffy ended up asking him to join the crew, but Crocus declined, saying he didn't have the energy of the young anymore. Then Crocus opened the door, letting the ship out. The two thieves fell into the water. Luffy asked who they were. The woman said it was none of his business. The man said they were indeed their business. The woman said it was true that the organization might find them useful. Then they started swimming while saying they'd meet again. Haru was thinking about how the two reached the Red Line swimming through the Grand Line's weather. Luffy noticed they left something behind; Haru saw it was a Log Pose.

At the lighthouse, Sanji and Luffy started talking about how the whale really believed they'd return after so long. They said they'd be back in three years, but it had been fifty. Crocus said they were already dead, and Usopp started shouting that he didn't know that. Crocus said they fled and abandoned the Grand Line. Nami said they'd need to cross the Calm Belt. Haru ignored all this.

Haru didn't want to deal with it, so he took out a ham melon and went to eat away from Luffy. After a few minutes of eating, Haru saw Luffy hitting the whale with their ship's mast.

- BUUOOOOOOOOH!!

- BUUOOOOOOOOH!!

- That idiot, I'm starting to wonder if I should've joined him.

At least with the system update, I can use the daily roulette here too and earn stat points among other things, though I'd prefer if it gave more. *Haru thought about how useful the update was in some aspects.*

Haru went back to see Luffy saying it was a tie with the whale, that their battle wasn't over yet, and that he'd finish it someday. That her friends were dead, but now he had a rival. This made the whale, Laboon, start crying.

Luffy painted the Straw Hat crew's Jolly Roger on the whale's head.

Meanwhile, Usopp was fixing the broken mast. Nami was planning the trip with Haru. Sanji was with a fish, and Zoro was sleeping.

After they were eating, Nami mentioned the broken compass. Crocus started explaining that to navigate the Grand Line, you need a Log Pose. After Luffy showed the Log Pose he found, Crocus said it was almost impossible. Nami said something was missing. Then she hit Luffy, asking where he found it. Crocus's explanation continued while, unnoticed by the others, Haru was eating more than Luffy. In the end, Haru ate more, and Luffy got beaten by Sanji because Sanji thought Luffy ate everything. With Sanji kicking Luffy on the ground, Nami got angry and kicked both of them out, making them fall into the water. Why did she kick them? Simple, they broke the Log Pose. After Nami got a new Log Pose from Crocus, Luffy returned with the two thieves, who ended up asking for help to return to Whisky Peak.

- I'LL BE BACK, WHALE! *Luffy shouted to Laboon.*

- BUOOOOOH!

While the Straw Hats sailed toward Whisky Peak, Haru went to sleep because he didn't want to waste time in that cold. But before, he talked to Nami. After giving her a kiss, making Sanji cry a lot, Haru went to sleep in the only room, which was also used by Nami.

When the ship finally arrived at Whisky Peak, Nami went to wake Haru.

- What is it, Nami?

- We've arrived at Whisky Peak, Haru.

- I see, I'll stay here sleeping on the Merry and keep an eye out so no one steals anything.

- There's no way you can keep watch while sleeping.

- Don't worry, you know I'm the type who stays up at night and sleeps during the day. They'll only try something at night.

Haru was heading toward where he sensed a bunch of people; he also sensed Zoro. When Haru saw a ton of people, he saw Zoro on top of a building. He noticed there were over a thousand bounty hunters in this city.

With so many people, the system only asks me to defeat a hundred. Well, it doesn't matter; I'll take out everyone I come across.

Haru started attacking everyone from behind while Zoro attacked in the middle.

What impressed Haru was Zoro's speed. Haru was amazed at Zoro's progress just a few days after losing to Mihawk.

- They must not know Baroque Works well if they think they can escape.

On the side of a house, Haru and Zoro were listening to everything the idiots were saying.

- Where were you this whole time, Haru? *Zoro asked, curious.*

- Sleeping. *Haru replied, expressionless.*

- You sleep more than I do.

- Haru, I'll take care of these guys alone.

- Alright, I'll deal with the others scattered around the island.

When Haru was about to leave, he sensed someone coming from the side of the roof.

Using Sonido, Haru appeared behind the guy, kicking him with reinforcement, knocking him out.

- How'd you know?

- You'll find out one day. See you, Zoro, I'm going to take care of the others. *Haru said, leaving the place.*

The people on the other side of the house attacked Zoro when Haru disappeared from sight.

While Haru was taking out many bounty hunters around the island, he saw Zoro being chased by a group on the rooftops.

- He's having fun.

- DIE, YOU BASTARD! *A bounty hunter said.*

Haru showed no mercy, using the Dark Repulser to cut the bounty hunter in half. A trail of mutilated bodies was left in Haru's path; to him, they were nothing but trash better off dead.

Haru stopped and watched Zoro on the building with a woman—or maybe not. Zoro was holding her head with some force, knocking her out while facing the others below.

- That damn guy's really having fun.

Still, why am I starting to feel a strange urge to fight?

While observing the fight, Haru saw Princess Vivi on top of Karoo, doing a dance that made Zoro kneel, weakened.

- What the hell, she took down Zoro with a dance?

Haru saw Princess Vivi attacking Zoro on top of Karoo. But the duck went the wrong way and fell off the house.

- I bet that duck would be delicious cooked.

Well, time to go back and take out more.

- Yeah, they don't have anything.

- Let's go to Zoro; it seems he's near Luffy.

- You two made a mess out here.

- Nothing special; they're all too weak.

Then the two walked hand in hand toward Zoro and Luffy.

Haru and Nami arrived and saw the conversation about Princess Vivi and Mr. Igarassu, asking Zoro for help. He said that if they took the princess back to Alabasta safely, they'd be well rewarded.

- Well rewarded, you say? *Nami asked, sitting next to Haru.* That's how I like it! What about a billion Berry?

- NAMI, HARU! *Zoro shouted, seeing the two.*

- A BILLION, maa-maa-maaa!

Zoro started talking to Nami and said he thought she was unconscious. Nami said she was faking it and could drink all night. Then Nami asked if there was a deal with the guard captain. The captain said he was just a soldier. Nami asked if the princess was worth less. Nami demanded to see the money, standing in front of the guard captain. Zoro, next to Haru, said it was extortion; Haru agreed with that statement.

After the captain and Nami talked, the captain said she'd have to discuss it with the princess. Then Nami said she'd save the princess.

So Nami ordered Haru and Zoro to go save her. Zoro teased Nami. Haru saw Luffy waking up and walking off. Nami started talking about Zoro's debt. But Zoro said he paid it back. Nami said it was at 300%, and Zoro still owed 200,000 Berry. Nami told Zoro that if he saved Princess Vivi, she'd forget the debt.

Why do I highly doubt that? *Haru thought, watching the argument end.*

- If only I were stronger, I could save the princess. *The guard captain said, all beat up on the ground.*

- Don't worry, he's absurdly strong. *Nami said to the guard captain.*

- If anything happens to the princess, it'll be the end of our kingdom. *The captain said.*

Seeing Nami ask about Baroque Works, Haru took off and wandered, thinking about what to do.

Haru snapped out of his thoughts, seeing Luffy and Zoro attack the two Baroque Works agents sent to kill the princess.

- Get out of my way! *Zoro said.*

- What's wrong with these guys? *Luffy said.*

The princess was amazed at Luffy and Zoro's strength, wondering how they were still at the start of the Grand Line. When Luffy and Zoro were about to continue the fight, Nami appeared and punched both of them.

While Nami scolded them, Haru was on Vivi's bird, holding her waist, making her blush. Vivi overheard Nami talking about money and asked why they saved her. Nami asked if Vivi minded discussing a deal. But then she hit Luffy and Zoro.

Some time after Vivi's explanation, she revealed that the leader was a Shichibukai, Crocodile, leaving Nami scared and Luffy slack-jawed. Haru was ignoring everything, looking at the vulture and an otter, both wearing sunglasses.

Nami ended up yelling at Vivi, asking who they were. Haru had to separate Nami from her with a spank on her butt, leaving Nami red and Vivi embarrassed by Haru's public action without care. When Nami walked away embarrassed, she saw the otter on the ground with four drawings—one of Haru, one of Luffy, one of Zoro. Nami praised the otter for the drawings. But after realizing the situation, she got depressed in a corner. Haru and Vivi went to cheer her up.

When Igaram arrived, saying not to be afraid, Haru almost vomited seeing the old man wearing a feminine outfit identical to Vivi's with a wig. The sight was simply horrific.

Igaram asked to take Princess Vivi safely to Alabasta. Luffy agreed without thinking. Nami ended up shouting that 80 million was four times Arlong's bounty.

Haru calmed Nami, saying Crocodile was the weakest Shichibukai.

Igaram formed a plan to distract Baroque Works with four dummies and leave in a small ship toward Alabasta. The ship ended up exploding, leaving Vivi paralyzed. When Zoro asked if the Log Pose was already pointing to another island, Nami confirmed. Then Haru picked up the princess and said it was time to leave, heading to the Merry with Nami right behind. Meanwhile, Luffy woke up Sanji and Usopp, who had been sleeping this whole time.

- Karoo's gone; I need to find him. *Vivi said.*

- He's already on the ship. *Haru said, still carrying Vivi.*

When they reached the ship, Vivi saw Karoo, and Haru wondered if it tasted good.

Sanji and Usopp woke up shouting, asking why they were already leaving. Zoro asked Nami if she wasn't going to explain to them; she said she already did. Then they fainted again.

Haru spent the whole time watching a woman dressed as a cowboy on the ship. The woman saw Haru looking at her. She realized the white-haired guy was different from the rest of the crew, so she decided to talk to see the others' reactions.

While Haru checked her stats.

- Thanks, cutie. *Robin said to Haru.* I just ran into Mr. 8 and Miss Wednesday.

- You, you're the one who did that to Igaram! *Vivi asked.*

- I don't care; I just want to know what you're doing on our ship! *Luffy shouted loudly.*

- Speak lower. *Haru said, smacking Luffy on the head.*

- WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, MISS ALL-SUNDAY? *Vivi shouted.*

Nami asked who her partner was. Vivi explained that she was the leader, and that's how they discovered the identity of the Baroque Works leader. Robin said she let her follow her. Luffy found her cool, and Vivi started shouting at her again. Vivi kept shouting, asking what she was trying to do. Robin explained that the despair of a princess trying to stop Baroque Works was such a ridiculous spectacle it was almost funny. At that moment, Haru thought of Disney princesses.

Vivi would get along with them. *That's what crossed Haru's mind.*

Vivi shouted, telling her to shut up. Then Sanji appeared with a gun and Usopp with a slingshot, both aiming at Robin's head from a few centimeters away. Zoro had a sword, and Nami had a staff. Luffy and Haru did nothing.

- Sanji, any idea why you're doing this? *Usopp asked, surprisingly not trembling with fear, maybe because it was a woman, but it was obvious he was tense.*

- No, I just felt that Miss Wednesday was in danger! *Sanji replied to Usopp, also tense.*

What idiots, she's not in danger, just being provoked a bit.

Sighing, Robin said:

- Would you mind not pointing those things at me? *Saying this, Sanji and Usopp were knocked off the top of the ship.*

The other four below were surprised, with Vivi shouting again about a Devil Fruit, to Haru's annoyance, who was losing patience.

Nami and Zoro had their sword and staff taken from their hands in an instant. Only Haru saw it with his Observation Haki; he was impressed with Robin's ability, even though he already knew it, it was even more impressive in person.

Zoro asked if she ate a Devil Fruit. Nami asked what kind of power it was that she hadn't even seen. Sanji, on the ground, went into perverted cook mode. Robin said she wasn't following orders at the moment and there was no reason to fight.

Then suddenly, Luffy's straw hat ended up in her hand.

Luffy shouted, demanding his hat back, giving Haru more of a headache.

Before anyone else could shout, Haru used Sonido, appearing behind Robin, grabbing Luffy's hat from her hand, and said:

- Sorry, but you can't have this. It's very important to the idiot captain, so I'm taking it back.

Before Haru left, he leaned close to her ear and said something that left her surprised and shocked.

Returning with Sonido, Haru placed the straw hat back on Luffy's head.

- Thanks, Haru. *Luffy thanked him with a big goofy smile.*

Sitting on the top of the ship, Robin was shocked that the Straw Hat vice-captain knew about her. But she was even more surprised by Haru's ability; it scared her, reminding her of the CP9 from the World Government chasing her. She decided to be careful with Haru in the future.

Haru, below, felt it wouldn't be easy to get Robin into bed with him.

Robin then continued talking about bad luck and that the worst luck was the Log Pose's route. She said the name of the next destination was Little Garden and that they wouldn't reach Crocodile; they'd be destroyed before that. Robin said enough talk but kept saying that only idiots would follow the island's route knowing the difficulties. Robin threw an Eternal Log Pose to Vivi. Nami and Vivi asked why she was helping. Zoro said it was a trap. Luffy grabbed the Eternal Log Pose from Vivi's hand and broke it. Nami then hit Luffy, calling him an idiot. Luffy shouted that she wasn't the one who decided where the ship went. Haru didn't care; he knew it was necessary to get the Straw Hats' doctor. Robin said they'd meet again if they survived and went to her turtle, making Luffy shout, impressed by its size.

Haru, seeing the sun rise, went to spin the daily roulette and headed to the cabin to sleep until the next island.

But the Slayer magics are the most useful in DxD.

However, their weaknesses are awful. Besides the motion sickness of Dragon Slayer, there's the draconification that removes emotions, which I don't care about. But I won't be able to sleep or enjoy food. The Devil Slayer has the same draconification issue as the Dragon Slayer. The God Slayer doesn't have a God Force like the Devil Slayer or Dragon Slayer.

I'd better forget the Slayer list. But the shop change is really incredible; it was a bit drastic. Still, I have the impression it's not more expensive because of the side effects.

- I'd better sleep.

Thus, the Going Merry headed toward Little Garden with the lazy Haru sleeping right at the dawn of the day.
