A Multiverse Tale: Hope in Another World!

Chapter 18: Chapter 18 - Revenge, Kirisu Mafuyu

Thanks to the Sage Body and Mangekyo Sharingan, Takuma Kirie's chakra extraction had spiked nearly ninefold.

While others toiled with pickaxes to tap an oil field, Kirie's reserves gushed like a fountain—ignite it with a spark of mental energy, and massive chakra flowed effortlessly.

Adjusting to his boosted self, Takuma Kirie rose, swapped into casual clothes, and hopped a train. Like a fish weaving through water, he dodged the crowd, heading for Shuchiin Academy.

His steps were steady, lips muttering as he mentally reviewed the freshly studied Adamantine Sealing Chains.

In Naruto, it was a powerhouse sealing technique. The Uzumaki clan's vast chakra made it a match for the Uchiha's tailed-beast-taming might. During the Nine-Tails incident, a postpartum, Nine-Tails-extracted Uzumaki Kushina—near death—burned her last chakra to unleash it, effortlessly subduing the beast for Namikaze Minato to seal with Dead Demon Consuming Seal and Eight Trigrams Seal.

In the Fourth Ninja War, Uzumaki Karin, desperate to reach a dying Sasuke, erupted with it, briefly countering Orochimaru's group and the Kage with Wood Release-like prowess.

Takuma Kirie tuned out the world, half his mind sunk into mastering it.

Meanwhile

Snapping out of her work haze, Kirisu Mafuyu realized it was late—teacher's lounge long emptied.

"Oops. Should've taken it home. I'll miss the train at this rate."

Regretting her delay, she stood, threw on her coat, and dashed out.

Her car was in the shop, so she'd been trekking to the station daily. Too late now, and she'd be hoofing it home.

Hurrying from the school, she rounded a corner and caught distant squeals from some gyaru girls.

"Look! Look!"

"So hot! Is he a celeb? An idol?"

"High schooler, maybe? Super stylish—go get his number!"

"No way, you go! He's too gorgeous to approach!"

Curious, Kirisu Mafuyu glanced over at their chatter.

Black joggers, red-blue hoodie, white tee underneath, hood up, white-blue Audio-Technica headphones dangling at his neck—a cool, slick vibe.

The hood shadowed his face, but that half-hidden allure, paired with jet-black tousled hair and sharp features, gave him a mysterious heartthrob edge.

Still…

"Why's he so familiar?"

Unless it was plastic surgery, natural stunners had distinct, memorable looks. That fleeting glimpse pinged something in her—she'd seen him before.

As a diligent teacher, she rifled through mental student files. Then it clicked—the new transfer, Takuma Kirie.

"Takuma-kun?"

"Didn't he leave early, sick?"

"Why's he here so late?"

Unquellable curiosity flared. Duty-bound, Kirisu Mafuyu halted her train chase.

After a beat, she tailed him from a distance.

---

When Takuma Kirie reached Shuchiin Academy, its usual vibrance was gone.

The go-home club had cleared out, club kids had split, and save for night patrols, the sprawling campus lay hushed.

Once-bustling halls stood desolate, especially under the ink-black evening sky—like unseen monsters lurked in the shadows.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap-tap-tap…

Takuma Kirie climbed the stairs again, footsteps echoing in the dim corridor.

Rounding the final turn, he paused, looking up. There it was—the rooftop door.

"Overnight, my heart's a stranger to itself."

With a wistful murmur, he stepped heavily upward.

BOOM—!

The rooftop door flung open. His eyes blazed, scanning for something.

There it was.

By the bench, the hundred-eyed ghost from that morning loomed.

Sensing him, it rose from its crouch. Hundreds of shut eyes snapped open, glaring with malice and savagery.

A grotesque, toothy maw gaped, rasping low and hoarse:

"You… can you see me…?"

"What do you think?"

Takuma Kirie's calm reply sparked manic laughter from the ghost.

A slimy, serpentine tongue flailed, drool sizzling corrosive pits into the floor. It trembled like a starved beast eyeing a feast.

"You~~~ can see me!!!"

The frenzied ghost froze, eyes bulging.

Then its hulking frame charged, a ravenous blur.

Amid its roar, Takuma Kirie lifted his gaze. Bright eyes shifted to blood-red, six-pointed stars.

Pouring all his stored chakra into his Mangekyo, the six stars spun, igniting Susanoo for the first time.

---

Susanoo: Initial Form!

Purple mist enveloped him. Five massive ribs materialized like armor, encircling him. On the left, a colossal skeletal arm shimmered into being.

A purple titan hand—big enough to cloak the rooftop—reached out, slow yet swift, seizing the ghost in its grip.

"AAAAH!!!"

"You can see me—!"

The ghost thrashed mindlessly, its screams blasting stone shards in rippling waves.

Takuma Kirie raised his right hand, clenching slowly. The giant fist tightened, crushing the ghost like a chick, grinding it to nothing.

Vengeance claimed, a smirk curved his lips. A raw, unshackled thrill surged—freedom from some invisible chain.

Suddenly, a prickling gaze hit him. He turned to the door.

Blood-red Mangekyo met wide blue eyes—disbelief, panic, fear flashing in hers.

Before he could speak—

Kirisu Mafuyu's knees buckled, and she fainted dead away.
