Chapter 19. A night not to forget [Second Arc EPILOGUE]
The two of us soon sat there in silence, looking at the meteor shower that covered the skies as the little girl ran around with a bright smile on her face before out of the blue, jumping towards us as Mana caught her intuitively.
“Mwana!” she said before snuggling onto Mana as she patted her hair with a gentle smile on her face. It was a face that I would never expect to see from the smelly girl, her face blushed pink and an adorable smile was all over her face.
After some time of snuggling, the energy bar on her body decreased as she slowly dozes off on Mana before falling dead asleep on her shoulder as Mana started patting her back, whistling a kind of melody that sounded peaceful and calming to listen to.
“London Bridge is falling down,” she started singing. Her voice was peaceful, soft; the melody of the song was super slow, she didn’t rush on the lyrics, but whispered it softly to the little girl as we stared at the glimmering skies.
After some time, she soon dozed off, resting on my shoulders as I grabbed the blankets on the side and covered both of them before smiling unconsciously as my hand weaved through her soft and silky hair.
There was an indescribable feeling rising inside of me. It felt burning, warm, it was like a happy sensation to be exact. I couldn’t comprehend what this emotion was, yet it felt super nice, whatever it may be… I still want to bask in it.
“To think that the two of you have moved this fast…” a silvery voice called from behind as I turned around before the white-haired beauty sat on the branch of the tree, smiling as she gazed at the three of us with a soft look.
The beauty was none other than the stupid Goddess whom I always swore to smack her head, Miu; she didn’t do anything at all but sat on the branch of the tree, looking at the three of us with a gentle motherly look.
“What are you up to again…?” I asked before she whistled around, kicking her feet in the air as she looked up at the skies.
“I don’t plan on doing anything at all. I never did,” she responded which made me confused before she added, “I never planned to do anything. It was all up to fate, whether the two stars merge as one or whether the two stars break apart.”
I was confused but decided to not take it to heart as I asked another question, “Say… this isn’t exactly Solis right?” before she nodded which confirmed my speculation that this was another variation of Solis and not the one I know of.
“To be exact, this world is Solis World which is a combination of Solis VR and Solis Simulation with a mix of love that I added,” she responded before hopping down from the branch as she walked in front of us with a smile.
“You did well up till now. Look at you, aren’t you smiling more often than before?” she said as I touched my face before heat rose up into me as she smirked, “It seems like you are enjoying this world more than ever.”
“Well, I will be answering some of your questions, since I feel like it today,” she added before a question rose inside my head as I asked.
“I won’t ask other than this one question, what is this emotion I am feeling?” I asked before she turned around and looked at the night skies as her figure glowed bright white like a fairy that was about to disappear.
“Do you really want me to answer it, or do you want to figure it out yourself?” she asked without turning back as I hesitated. I kind of already know what this emotion is but it feels too early, I don’t feel completely sure honestly.
“I am willing to answer it, but in my honest opinion, it is better to find it yourself and reassure yourself that what you are feeling will last for eternity,” she said turning around as I nodded before a smile blossomed on her face as her figure slowly vanished.
“Don’t worry, I will continue watching over you… after all, in exchange for all the Yuri you produce in this world, I will grant you the happiest moments in your lifetime,” her voice echoed as her figure slowly dissipated into thin air, almost as if she was never there from the start.
Soon after she vanished, white butterflies surrounded us as both Mana and the little girl woke up, looking around confused as a magnificent scene of butterflies, fireflies, and flowers surrounded us paired with the wondrous night sky.
“Do you want to head back now?” I looked at Mana and asked as she rubbed her eyes several times before nodding.
“How long did I fall asleep?” she inquired.
“It wasn’t that long, about fifteen minutes, maybe?” I replied before she looked at her watch, nodding before standing up whilst carrying the already awake girl on her arms before reaching out one hand towards me.
“Let’s head back, shall we?” she said as I grabbed her hand before she pulled mine as the two of us smiled at one another before slowly making our way back towards the school where the headmaster along with the vice headmaster stood there, waiting with bright smiles.
“To think that the two of you were chosen by the Spirit of the Forest, it truly is fate, don’t you think?” the headmaster said as she looked at the little girl with a gentle smile before Mana looked at her with both eyes wide open.
“The Spirit of the Forest, you mean the one that vanished a long time ago..?!” she shouted in surprise as the headmaster chuckled out loud, patting Mana’s back.
“The same spirit. That’s why that stupid blacksmith told you to not abandon her, but instead take her with you since the spirit is known to go wild if the person(s) she chooses were to ever leave her alone and even if all of us oldies were to contend with her, the chances of us winning is absolute zero,” she said as both of our faces paled.
I take back my words, this girl is not just a scarily cute monster, but an absolute demon hiding in a cute child’s clothing… what a monstrosity!
“Don’t worry, we already prepared everything for her! The two of you can head back to your dorm room for now and take a good nap, especially you!” she looked at me and smiled creepily at shivers ran through my spine.
Taking heed of her words, the two of us soon left the area with me being led by the headmaster as we headed to our dorm room which was a large beautiful air-conditioned room with guess what… one large bed… not two but ONE…
“I forgot to ask for two beds…” the headmaster said as she winked with her tongue out before pushing the two of us inside the room as she slammed the door, shouting from the outside, “Hope the two of you have a good sleep!”
I felt tricked… betrayed as both Mana and I looked at one another and sighed.
