Chapter 1391: What Brings You To My Room Today?
Archer woke up the following morning to a snoring Sera who was lying all over him, putting a smile on his face. He moved the dragon aside before sitting on the edge of the bed while running his hands through his hair.
'It's getting long again,'' he mumbled when he realized his hair was coming down to his shoulder.
With a thought, he used Mana Manipualtion to cut it short, which made him more comfortable as it preferred it. Once that was done, he turned to the sleeping beauty and cast Cleanse of her.
This made her mumble something about scarring Ell. he shook his head with a laugh, muttering. ''Damn gremlin always causing mischief.''
Following that, he stood up and stepped out of the bedroom, only to run into Nefertiti and Llyniel arguing about something. ''I told you not to hand out the Dragon Powder to the farmers! Production isn't ready yet; Ella is taking her time with it!'' the succubues exclaimed.
''It's not my fault! I'm not doing this for profits or quotas, Nefi!'' the wood elf snapped back, looking up. ''I'm doing this to help the people store more food to survive the famines that are due to hit the world!''
Nefertiti waved it away. ''Not this stuff again, we've told it's not going to happen with Draconia producing so much food,'' she reassured.
Archer's curiosity deepened as he listened to Llyniel, her voice steady. ''It's certain; I'd stake my entire research on it. The world speaks to me, shows me things, and a devastating famine will soon grip Thrylos.''
The Wood Elf turned toward the window, her gaze settling on the sprawling fields visible beyond the treehouse that were overgrown but could be brought back to farm food for the empire.
''That's why we're stockpiling food by the ton,'' she continued. ''Husband provided hundreds of storage rings, which have been a lifeline, but we still need more to prepare.''
When he heard this, he coughed, making both women jump as they spun on him. Seconds later, they beamed before giving him a kiss and cuddle but soon grew embarrassed as Neferiti looked at him.
''Did you see us arguing?'' she asked in a low voice. ''I'm sorry for such a sight. We was trying to sort out the farming situation in the empire.''
''Don't worry about it,'' he replied with a charming smile. ''I'll help out with the food situation. I can order the legions to construct storehouses all over Draconia and Avidia. The more crops we can stockpile, this famine shouldn't hurt us too much.''
The two women nodded as the succubus questioned. ''Do you believe it could happen, husband? It's been years since the last one.''
Archer glanced at the pink-haired beauty while answering. ''That's the point, Nefi. It's been decades since the last one, and it's due.''
Following that, he looked at Llyniel and asked. ''When do you think it will happen?''
''Next winter,'' she instantly replied. ''In my dream, it showed me starving people trekking through the snow trying to reach our coastal fortresses.''
When he heard her words, his eyes widened in shock and surprise, prompting Nefertiti to speak. ''What's wrong, Arch?''
''Only me, Elara, and Aisha know about them,'' he revealed before shaking his head. ''Well, it looks like it will happen. Can we put out missions to gather up food from the island's forests and other lands?''
Llyniel nodded. ''That could work. I could grow them in the greenhouses that are all over Draconia and store the produce for next winter,'' she answered with a smile.
''Can we start a farm here in the Domain?'' Nefertiti inquired with a curious expression.
Archer couldn't help but smile when hearing the succubus' suggestion. ''Yes, I'll ask the Brownies to run it for me. Their race loves growing food and will jump at the opportunity to do it for me.''
Nefertiti's pink hair caught the light as she grinned brightly at his words. ''Perfect! I'm off to round up Leira and Hemera for some lab work at the palace. Time to tackle that storage issue,'' she declared with enthusiasm.
''Sounds good,'' he replied, summoning a Gate that shimmered open, leading back to the palace.
The succubus stepped forward, pulling him into a fiery, passionate kiss before sauntering through the portal. Llyniel followed, pausing just long enough to press her tender, lingering kiss to his lips, slipping through with a soft smile.
Archer vanished from the treehouse, reappearing in the sprawling fields outside. With a focused wave of his hand, he conjured a vast barrier spanning miles, shimmering faintly as it enveloped the land.
Warmth radiated within, melting the snow in moments and coaxing the soil to life, ready for planting. Satisfied, he summoned Mavis the Brownie, who appeared with a soft poof and a burst of eager energy.
The tiny creature's eyes lit up at the sight of him, but he knelt to her level, his voice gentle and respectful. ''Mavis, could you gather some Brownies to help grow crops here? A famine's coming, and the empire will need plenty of food.''
''Very well, master,'' Mavis said, her tiny hands sifting through the soil as she examined it. ''We can grow heaps of food for you and us, but this ground needs to be enriched first.''
He gave a nod, closing his eyes, and channeled his mana into the earth. A gentle pulse of energy flowed from him, seeping into the soil. Moments later, the ground began to transform into a fertile land that stretched for miles.
Mavis's eyes widened, her small face alight with astonishment at the sight. The Brownie glanced up at him while speaking. ''Amazing master, this place will be perfect for us. We needed to start growing stuff, there's many plants to raise.''
''Do what you like but make sure to grow this,'' he said while handing over some corn and wheat seeds. ''This is new stuff, I want to see how it does here.''
Mavis accepted the task with a beaming smile, already darting across the field with purpose. Archer called after her. ''Mavis! I'll be back in a few weeks to check on the progress.''
She gave a cheerful wave, barely pausing as she examined the soil. More Brownies materialized around her, and she began directing them with animated gestures, her voice carrying over the fertile earth.
With a flicker of thought, he teleported to find Talila and Kassandra, intent on scanning them to see if they, like the others, were pregnant after their passionate night together. He appeared in the silver-haired elf's room, the air around him settling as he arrived.
''Hello, husband,'' Talila greeted, her silver hair catching the light, a knowing smile played on her lips. ''What brings you to my room today?''
Archer didn't answer straight away, but his eyes glowed while scanning her stomach, only to see what he was hoping for. The elf was confused, prompting her head to tilt to the side, asking. ''What's wrong, Arch?''
He wrapped her in a warm hug, causing her to melt into the embrace, a soft smile forming, but her body tensed at his next words. ''You're carrying my child, Tali,'' he said happily. ''I came to check. It seems our last time together was when it happened.''
The words hung in the air for a heartbeat, Talila's red eyes widening as they locked onto his. ''I'm… carrying your child?'' she whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and dawning joy.
Before he could respond, her face split into a radiant smile, so bright it seemed to light up the room. Without warning, she launched herself at him, her arms wrapping tightly around his neck as she let out a delighted laugh that echoed off the stone walls.
''Archer!'' she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with unrestrained happiness. Caught off guard, he stumbled back a step, his own grin forming at her infectious excitement.
She pulled back just enough to look at him, her hands cupping his face, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy. ''A child, our child!'' she said, almost singing the words.
Then, she surged forward, pressing her lips to his in a kiss that was all love, pouring every ounce of her excitement into it. Her fingers tangled in his hair, and she kissed him again and again, each one more eager than the last.
Archer's initial surprise melted into warmth, his arms circling her waist to pull her closer, marveling at the sheer force of her joy. When she finally paused, breathless, she rested her forehead against his. ''I've never been happier, husband. Never.''
''Perfect,'' Archer said, his grin wide and warm. ''Here's hoping she's as fierce as her mother, one of the many reasons I fell for you.''
Talila's face lit up, her smile radiant as she tugged him into another kiss, this one brimming with affection. She eased back after a moment, her eyes sparkling with mischief. ''If our baby's a girl,'' she murmured. ''She'll be a force to be reckoned with, just like all her mothers.''
