Chapter 100.1
Chapter 100.1. The Summons
The school festival ended, and the following week included a holiday.
Even though the match left a strong impression on many students and spectators,
it didn’t stop the passage of time.
The remaining schedule of the festival finished smoothly,
and the daily routine returned to the school.
Hermes also completed his tumultuous days with a successful conclusion.
He regained his peaceful daily life, which was good, but…
“………”
Some unresolved issues remained, which couldn’t be solved easily.
Currently, the most pressing matter was a girl sitting next to Hermes, puffing her cheeks.
“Um, Katia-sama.”
“…Yes?”
“Shall I pour you more tea?”
“…Please do.”
It was the first lunch break of the week after the festival, and they were having lunch in the courtyard.
Since the incident with Clyde, they hadn’t been able to have lunch together, so they were finally doing it now.
However, there was one problem.
(…It’s hard to move.)
The cause of Hermes’s concern was his master, Katia, sitting next to him.
She was very close, almost touching him, and holding onto the hem of his clothes.
It was as if she was silently saying, “Don’t leave.”
Her expression slightly blushed, but she wasn’t in a bad mood.
Since the end of the festival, she had been like this.
She was constantly by his side, as she had declared she would be.
While that itself was fine, she also seemed somewhat displeased, never leaving his side, which was a bit difficult for Hermes.
Currently, because she wouldn’t let go of his hem, it was hard for him to hold the teapot.
When he consulted Nina about it during the break after the first class of the week,
“…Hmm, I don’t think she’s furious. It’s more like she wants a lot of attention, but because she got so angry during the festival, she doesn’t want to seem too easy by getting over it quickly.”
“…Uh, okay.”
“Yeah, I get that you tried to understand but couldn’t.”
Nina nodded with a wry smile, probably because she guessed that her remark was quite accurate.
“Basically, she’s just pretending to be angry. She hasn’t made any unreasonable demands, right?”
“That’s true.”
“Then it’s fine. Just give her a lot of attention, and she’ll be back to normal. Think of it like dealing with a fussy kitten.”
After making a comparison that might be dangerous if Katia heard it, Nina suggested with a cat-like smile,
“That sulking Katia must be super cute. Can I join you for lunch today?”
And so, as declared, now,
“You two are so close.”
“…Yes.”
Nina and Sara, whom Nina probably invited, were sitting at the same table.
With Katia’s attitude and these two watching with amusement and a smile, Hermes felt quite uncomfortable.
Well, he had to admit he was at fault too.
There were many intense events in B Class, but he had neglected her too much.
Though he was a student here, he was also her servant.
If this was his punishment, it was light. He would accept it.
He had promised to accompany her shopping this weekend. He would be her porter if necessary.
Besides, as Nina said, Katia probably wasn’t really upset.
Allowing Nina and Sara to join lunch was proof. Despite their fierce rivalry in the competition, there seemed to be no hard feelings, which reassured him.
Just then, Nina spoke up,
“Now that things have settled, let’s properly celebrate. Good job on the competition! It was a great match.”
“Yes!”
“Indeed.”
Sara nodded firmly, and Katia agreed honestly.
“It was fun. B Class won, and I got to swing my sword freely for the first time in a while… also,”
She paused and gave a slightly mischievous glance at Katia,
“I got to see a new side of Katia-sama.”
“…Stop talking about that.”
Katia looked a bit embarrassed and averted her gaze.
“Katia-sama, you have a stronger possessive streak than I expected. It was a pleasant surprise. You never showed that side in the first term. If you had, I would have known how cute you are sooner.”
“I told you to stop…”
“Um, Nina-san, Katia-sama isn’t used to being teased…!”
“Sara, that’s not really helping.”
