A Futanari Thirsty For Battles With Waifu Catalog

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

"Blood Break…"

That whisper escaped from the mouth of the jaguar guy in the group.

Although he was the only one to express it, I knew everyone was duly impressed with my display. Blood Break wasn't easy to achieve, and very few warbeasts were capable of using it.

It's not Byakko's first time—I mean, me before I gained my memories—using it, but it was something especially new for this group, as they've just met the requirements to start on truly important missions without an army behind them, while I've been doing it for years, hence why I'm the squad leader, even though we're roughly the same age. I reveled in the looks of astonishment even more (and even more so in the case of the female wolf) before deciding that was enough.

"Grab your things. We're leaving before enemy reinforcements arrive. Now that we've confirmed the dhampirs' presence, we need to bring in a larger squad to investigate the problem."

With that, their expressions turned serious, and they quickly gathered all the equipment from our temporal camp while, in record time, cleaning up any traces that might have left us there. It's inevitable that they'll know about us and what just happened, but this will prevent them from giving away any clues about our location.

We were ready to start leaving, but just before doing so, I turned my gaze in the direction of the elf I'd noticed earlier. I might not be able to hear or smell her like I could in my Blood Break state, but I could still see her now that I knew she was there.

However, the elf was nowhere to be seen. I guess she ran as soon as I noticed her presence.

We started running towards our main camp to the east, further from the coast and closer to our own territory. The return trip was at the fastest speed we could move while remaining stealthy. Our stamina wasn't a problem at all, considering our physical abilities, and in just a half a day in the morning, we had reached the camp. The problem was what we found there.

"Shit."

Our camp was destroyed, most of our supplies were stolen, but most importantly, the two comrades who were left to guard the place were completely dead.

They were both bear-type warbeasts and it seems they were completely bombarded by magic from all sides. The camp was also littered with such evidence. Chunks of ice, burnt areas, dirt spikes—the expected stuff. Their bodies were in an X shape on top of each other, as if mocking us. Everything pointed to the elves, but something wasn't right with this move. Elves weren't the watch-and-hit-and-run type. They were too proud for that; they were more like the make-a-mess-and-wait-for-the-owners-of-the-place-to-show-them-and-see-their-desperation-face type. This scene also seemed too controlled, and this magic... seemed weak. No, this wasn't the elves' doing. Was someone trying to blame them for the body? That's not even considering the strangeness of the situation itself.

I can think about this later; first…

"Gather everything that's still useful. We need to get back to our territory as soon as possible. It'll take about two days, so we'd better get as far ahead as we can before looking for shelter."

I said as calmly as possible. That snapped the group out of their daze, and to my surprise, they got to work right away. Perfect, I appreciate the professionalism. I also helped the group to take care of everything as fast as possible; there wasn't much left, but it was better than nothing.

Without wasting time, we began our race, continuing eastward back to our territory.

Our territory consisted of hidden villages at the foot of the mountain, dangerously close to the old Elven capital, but far enough away to go unnoticed. Even more so now that the elves had been forced to leave by a certain flügel with obvious personality problems.

I knew the trip to our territory would take at least two days and that my group didn't seem to be in the mood to talk about anything in particular, so I decided to continue with my previous line of thought.

So… who did this?

Clearly it was a sapient race, and the demonias, even if they are part of the exceed and bothered us before, are not smart enough to do something like that.

Any race above the fada simply wouldn't bother with us. For much the same reason, the elves wouldn't. We're not worth it.

Warbeast simply doesn't have the magical strength or the technology to keep up with the true powers out there. Hell, here we are with small warships, kimonos, and steel armor, while the dwarves have flying warships, the ex-machina have dimensional travel, and I don't even want to get into how strong the flügel, the gigantos, or the dragonias are.

We're basically dust seeking survival and fighting with other lesser races for the few resources left. I may be the strongest of the warbeasts, but that means nothing when one flügel can single-handedly destroy our entire species. Our deus wouldn't even bother helping us for fear that another deus would butt in and end up dying, which would make him lose a few centuries of advantage in this war.

Yeah, we were screwed. Or at least we would be if I didn't have meta-knowledge. I knew 100% that if I did absolutely nothing for two years or so, this war would be over, the warbeasts would survive, and I could leave this world where I want to fight with swords against enemies with nuclear weapons. However, is that the best part? The most interesting part? I have some plans for my race, but I know for a fact that my race is practically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

That leaves about five more candidates. I think we can rule out the ex-machina; they're not that subtle, and they don't need to be, at least not without Shuvi's memories to guide them later on. The lunama? They might as well not exist. The séren? Not only are they too stupid, but even though we were relatively close to the coast, it wasn't close enough to do something like that.

Immanity? Pff, no.

At least not yet.

So it's clear, the dhampirs.

Were they looking for free food? Did they guide the demonias in the first place? Did they use the dead animals from earlier, knowing it would attract a small group?

Have they been spying on us closer than we thought?

The information needed to do something like this indicates they could very well be in the heart of our territory.

That pisses me off; if those blood-sucking bastards have been hanging around my house, they'll pay dearly. That little spy trick might have worked before, but not anymore, not with me here. I have some plans for our race, and some cheapy vampires won't ruin it.

With the culprits almost 100% confirmed, I returned to focusing on the road.

A few hours later, the sun began to set, and our priority shifted from rushing forward to finding a shelter.

In reality, the distance to our territory wasn't as far as two days' running for us; however, the forest territory could be surprisingly deceptive, full of mangroves and natural traps that made it dangerous to walk through. These are natural defenses that keep us safe from small ambushes, but at the same time, they are obstacles that prevent us from reaching our destination at full speed. Thus, the journey that should have taken us a few hours at most will take us about two days, taking into account the mandatory rest at night.

We may have had incredible stamina, but even we needed a break... Or at least my group did. Even as a Level 4 template, Lobo's regeneration would allow me to fight forever without eating anything if I so desired. Hell, right now my strength and speed were such that if I'd been on my own, I would have reached the location in a few hours, stupid forest or not.

However, I decided not to rush. As I mentioned before, I'm in no particular hurry, and moving away now would keep me out of my main short-term plan.

I looked at the wolf girl.

To fuck her. Yes, I'm just that horny.

While looking for the shelter, the entire group fell silent, deep in thought. I may not have known the twins very well, but for all I knew, they could have been friends for a while. I was grateful that they remained professional even in the face of the sudden loss.

They're probably holding back, knowing that if it really was the elves who did this, there's nothing we can do. However, I knew it was different, so I decided to give them a target.

I tell them about the curious elf during the fight and my hypothesis about how this is all just dhampirs doing as we keep looking for the shelter. To tell them, I used one of the oldest tricks of our species: speaking incredibly quietly. With our senses, we would hear whispers as if they were being spoken in our ear, so it was a useful trick when we wanted to keep our conversations secret.

I guess they handled it pretty well for a group of rookies, but it was clear they were out for dhampir blood right now.

To be expected.

We continued running for a few hours until we finally found a decently hidden cave. After making sure with a little Blood Break that no one was following us, I decided this would be our temporary refuge.

The group collapsed once they felt safe, less from physical exhaustion than from the mental exhaustion of the situation. All of them take off their warriors' masks and the metal parts of their armors, and finally they could feel like themselves.

I'd grown somewhat attached to them after these hours, even when it was mostly in silence, but it was funny that I still didn't know their names. The me before I had my memories wasn't really "there" beyond projecting a personality compatible with what I'd be like once I took over the body, so I don't really have a clue about anyone's name in the entire tribe, not even my parents. People just thought I was an arrogant person who didn't call anyone by their names.

Funny thought.

I guess I need to start fixing that. Although I doubt I'll do it with everyone. I don't think I'll last long in this particular world; once it becomes Disboard, it'll be so boring I'll want to poke my eyes out with a spoon.

And yeah, now that I've had time to think about it, I don't think I'll change that. I could try to get the Holy Grail or whatever the thing that turns you into a god is called, but that sounds like so much power at once that it's not even fun.

The worst part is that it would be so easy that I totally forgot about it. I just need to be close to Riku for a while, being invisible or something, and take the thing at the end. Boring as fuck. No, Tet can be the god of this world for all I care. Although we'll see if that future still happens once I'm done with this world.

Although it's possible I'll end up looking for Shuvi at some point. Maybe I will save her? I can think about it later. If we're at the beginning of No Game No Life Zero, her supposed death is about two years away anyway. Although her meeting with Riku should be soon... Should I intervene?

I can think about it later.

I looked at my group. With me in the equation, we were a squad of five. The wolf girl, half-horny, lost in her thoughts. The jaguar boy taciturn, or at least tries to be. A wolf boy, whom I presume is the wolf girl's brother based on their resemblance, seemed somewhat shy, but his body didn't match that impression given how big and strong he looked. A dog boy, basically a golden retriever, was the one who detected the dhampirs earlier. That means he has very good senses, mainly his sense of smell.

Silence filled the room until the wolf girl, no longer as horny as before, was the first to speak.

"So… What do we do now?"

She was looking at me like I was the solution to all her problems. Her horny passion had long since faded and been replaced with anger and sadness, but the spark of hope and respect still lingered in her eyes as she looked at me. Everyone else looked my way too, waiting for my words.

"About what?"

"The dhampirs?! About Kumato and Kumaji?! Are we just going to let them get away with it?! What about the information leak?!"

The one who responded to me in such a surprisingly emotional way was the dog boy. He seemed to be the most affected by the deaths of the bear brothers.

"Mmm… There were several things to consider, rookie. To begin with, we had no idea where the dhampirs were, what their long-term objective was, or if, once we found them, we'd be able to defeat them on our own. Or at least if you guys could survive the fight, I'm pretty confident I'd come out unscathed."

All of them seem pretty angry for that comment, but I hadn't finished yet.

"Finding the dhampirs isn't easy either. They're not stupid, and they're one of those races without any official territory. We'd have to search the entire mountain and forests. It's simply not efficient, and it's also not worth it. If the bear twins died, it is because they were not strong enough, neither more nor less."

They seemed to be swallowing a sour lemon at first, but the last part once again ignited the flames of anger in the group.

The jaguar boy seemed to have a cold anger, while the timid wolf seemed more angry with himself and sad than anything else. The she-wolf? She seemed somewhat disappointed but understanding; she has potential. The dog boy?

"Take it back!"

I found his words funny; he sounded a bit like a shonen protagonist.

"Or what?"

I just couldn't resist.

With a growl, he lunged at me, his claws flashing and his fangs bared, ready to rip me apart, or at least beat the hell out of me.

I moved before he could even reach my old position.

This time, I decided to try something I'd been wanting to do for a while: the Flow Method. It's a Re:Zero technique that involves efficiently rotating the mana in the body to increase physical capabilities. Mastery of this technique is what made the true monsters of the Re:Zero world. Technically I don't have mana in this body, but spiritual energy replaces it quite nicely.

I had the ability to do it thanks to the Reid Template, and although it was crude due to my lack of practice, combined with my natural strength, it was enough to make me as strong as my Blood Break mode, an exaggeration in every sense for the poor dog boy who couldn't blink before my fist basically pierced his diaphragm. And just like that, in less than a second, the boy was on the ground.

That calmed the other three immediately. It's a fact that power is a measure of respect for warbeasts, and even though they saw me massacre dhampirs with my Blood Break, nothing drives the point home more than a show of enormous strength in which they know for a fact I wasn't giving it my all.

Well, to say I calmed the three of them down would be a bit of an understatement. The jaguar boy tried to feign surprise, but I could clearly see him gulp as soon as I met his gaze. The wolf boy seemed to be trembling, as did his sister, though for a different reason.

Her flushed face, bright eyes, and labored breathing told me everything I needed to know. The girl saw me beat up her friend and got turned on. You know what? At this point, I could use a little relaxation. It's bad enough having to discipline these brats.

"Well It looks like we have a long road ahead of us. I guess I can get to know you guys better along the way, but for now I'd like to "get to know" someone else."

I turned my piercing gaze towards the wolf girl.

"Wolf girl."

"Y-yes?"

It seems my sudden call brought her out of her dreams.

"What's your name?"

"L-lyra, ma'am."

She said it in a surprisingly shy voice. My old self didn't get involved much with either of them, but I remember her as a girl with a rather strong and sassy personality, the opposite of her brother, actually. Stud Service's and Potpourri's pheromones must be driving her crazy right now.

Seeing her act so submissive…

A toothy grin spread across my face; after all, sex has always been fun.

Her flushed face tells me she must have understood my intentions. With a swift movement, I hoisted her onto my shoulders like a sack of potatoes. I was basically a head taller than her, so it didn't look strange, although I suppose it could be somewhat humiliating.

"E-ey-Kya!"

With a quick movement I hit her on the butt to shut her up.

"Nice sound."

Completely ignoring the astonished gazes of the others, I began walking deeper into the cave with the cute wolf girl on my shoulders. Before I was out of sight, though, I turned my gaze back to them.

"Don't you dare interrupt."

They gulped, but before they could say much more, I'd already left with a Lyra that was starting to give off all sorts of familiar and new smells.
