A extra in my hero academia

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: First day...

A week later, in a dimly lit kitchen, Flux walked toward the fridge, retrieving a water bottle. His hair was partially dry, with a towel draped around his neck. Clad only in green and grey joggers paired with purple and white socks, he had been adjusting to his new reality.

A week has passed since I've been transmigrated into this world. During the day, I spent most of my time inside, and at night, I practiced and familiarized myself with my quirk.

Kaelan's quirk allows him to control and manipulate salt in all its forms. From creating intricate salt constructs to harnessing its preservative and purifying properties, his abilities are as versatile as they are potent.

Whether summoning a wall of crystallized salt for defense or dispersing fine salt particles to disrupt his enemies, his power can be wielded with precision and creativity. I'm rather pleased with the results I've garnered.

Placing the water bottle on the counter, Flux made his way to his bedroom. The room, dark in color and minimalistic in design, mirrored his current state of mind. He stopped before a full-length mirror, scrutinizing his reflection.

"Hm. No matter how I look at it, this body doesn't seem like it would belong to an extra, much less one that wasn't even featured."

In the mirror, Flux's strong sinewy body, muscular yet lean, was apparent. But what stood out more were the scars. They marked his upper and lower back, chest, shoulders, and arms, leaving only his hands and face unmarred. The scars were smooth, signaling their maturity.

"What did the previous owner of this body do to have gotten all of these scars? Puncture, slash, and burn wounds could clearly be seen, and this…"

Placing his left hand on his right chest, he traced the tattoo of a crossed cleaver dripping blood, with a teardrop above it.

"What could this mean?"

Suddenly, a chime from the door broke his thoughts. Flux walked over and found a letter slipped under the door. Picking it up, he saw the seal of U.A. High School. Curiosity piqued, he opened the envelope and unfolded the letter inside. It contained a small device, which he hesitantly activated.

A hologram flickered to life, projecting the image of Nezu. "Hello, Flux Wavecrest. Or should I say, Kaelan Tideweaver?"

Flux tensed. "What do you want, Nezu?"

"I want to extend an official invitation for you to join U.A. High School," Nezu began, his tone calm but firm. "Given your unique abilities, we believe you would be an invaluable addition to our student body."

Flux scoffed. "I've got no interest in playing hero."

Nezu's eyes gleamed with a knowing look. "Perhaps, but I think you might reconsider when you realize how much I know about you. Your true identity, your past, and your… scars."

Flux's grip tightened around the letter. "Are you blackmailing me?"

"Think of it as a persuasive argument. Join us, and your secrets remain just that. Reject our offer, and I cannot guarantee your privacy."

Flux's mind raced. He didn't trust Nezu, but he knew he had no choice. "Fine, I'll come. But don't think for a second that I trust you."

"Trust is earned, Flux. We'll see how things unfold." With that, the hologram flickered out, leaving Flux in contemplative silence.

Flux stood in his kitchen, reflecting on the bizarre turn his life had taken. He had practiced his quirk tirelessly, readying himself for whatever lay ahead.

His musings were interrupted by the arrival of another letter, this time detailing the arrangements for his enrollment at U.A. High School. With a resigned sigh, he knew it was time to face this new chapter head-on.

Standing before the full-length mirror once more, he whispered to his reflection, "Adapt and move forward."

The next morning, Flux found himself running late. The sun was already high in the sky as he dashed out of his apartment, muttering curses under his breath. He knew being tardy on his first day would not make a good impression, especially considering his complicated entrance.

Arriving at the gates of U.A. High School, he paused for a moment to catch his breath. The imposing building loomed before him, a symbol of hope and heroism. It was strange to think that he, of all people, was about to walk through those doors.

Entering the building, he navigated the bustling hallways, trying to find his way. Just as he was beginning to feel hopelessly lost, he spotted a familiar figure in a napping sack, his disheveled hair unmistakable.

"Shota Aizawa," Flux called out, approaching the pro hero known as Eraser Head.

Aizawa barely glanced up from his sack. "You're late," he stated, his voice as dry and unimpressed as ever.

"Yeah, I got held up," Flux replied, trying to sound nonchalant. "Where's my class?"

"Follow me," Aizawa sighed, getting to his feet and leading Flux down the hallway. "You know, punctuality is important here."

Flux smirked. "I'll keep that in mind."

As they walked, Aizawa glanced at Flux. "You seem... different. Most new students are either nervous or overconfident. You, on the other hand, seem oddly calm."

"Let's just say I've got some experience with the unexpected," Flux replied, keeping his tone casual.

They reached the classroom, where Aizawa stopped and turned to Flux. "Before we go in, you should know we're starting with a quirk apprehension test. It's a way for us to see what you're capable of."

Flux nodded. "Understood."

Aizawa pushed open the door, leading Flux into the classroom. The students inside turned to look at the newcomer, their expressions ranging from curiosity to indifference. Murmurs quickly spread through the room.

"Isn't that the guy who caused the explosion during the exams?" one student whispered.

"Yeah, I heard he came in first place too," another murmured.

"How did someone like him manage that?" someone else questioned, skepticism clear in their voice.

Flux ignored the whispers, keeping his focus on Aizawa.

"Everyone, this is Flux Wavecrest," Aizawa announced, his voice monotone. "He'll be joining us starting today."

Flux scanned the room, recognizing several faces from the series. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come.

"Alright, let's head to the training field," Aizawa continued. "We're going to see what you're all capable of."

The students filed out of the classroom, Flux following at the back of the group. He could feel their eyes on him, sizing him up, but he kept his focus ahead.

Once outside, Aizawa gathered the students and began explaining the quirk apprehension test. "You'll be tested on various physical activities while using your quirks. This will give us a baseline understanding of your abilities and potential."

Flux watched as the other students prepared for the test, feeling a strange mix of anticipation and determination. He had seen this scene before, in the series, but experiencing it firsthand was something entirely different.

When his turn for the 50-meter dash arrived, Flux stepped up to the starting line. Instead of going all out, he decided to hold back slightly, wanting to blend in. He ran at a steady pace, finishing with an average time.

The grip strength test came next. Flux approached the device, gripping it firmly but not using the full extent of his quirk. He produced a respectable, but not extraordinary, number, drawing little attention to himself.

As the tests continued, Flux maintained a balanced approach, showing competence without standing out too much. He wanted to understand the dynamics of his new classmates before revealing his true capabilities.

Finally, they reached the last test: the ball throw. Flux watched as the other students demonstrated their quirks, each one showcasing their unique abilities. When his turn came, he stepped up to the line, the ball feeling heavy in his hand.

"Show us what you've got," Aizawa prompted.

Flux nodded, focusing his energy into the ball. He threw it with controlled strength, letting it travel a decent distance but not aiming to break any records. The ball landed with a satisfying thud, drawing a few nods of approval from his classmates.

As the murmurs died down, another voice broke through the crowd. "Hey, you!" Flux turned to see Bakugo Katsuki, his expression one of fierce determination and aggression. "You think you're something special, huh? Let's see if you can handle a real challenge."

A dark, twisted smirk crept across Flux's face, the muscle memory of his body's previous owner taking over. "I'm not afraid of a challenge, Bakugo. Just be careful what you wish for."

Bakugo's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in them. "You got guts. Let's see if you got the strength to match."

Before the situation could escalate, Aizawa intervened. "Enough. Save the energy for your training. We'll see all your capabilities soon enough."

Bakugo gave a final glare before backing off, clearly unsatisfied but willing to bide his time.

Breathing steadily, Flux felt a sense of accomplishment. He had managed to integrate himself without drawing too much attention, a key part of his strategy. His mind was sharp, his actions calculated. He knew when to stay under the radar and when to let his true nature surface.

As the day came to a close, Flux found himself looking forward to the future with a renewed sense of purpose. He had been thrust into this world against his will, but with time he new he could accomplish anything it would just be a long and tedious journey.

Outside on the training field, All Might praised Deku's potential. Eraser Head, arms crossed, mentioned Flux's mysterious restraint during the tests. They debated quietly before Eraser Head walked away, deep in thought.
