Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Hostages
"Why do we have to wait? Waiting is not cool, man."
"That's what they call the onii-chan strategy."
"For what strategy? It's easier for me to just get there and tear that pretty face apart with my scythes."
"I'm not sure, but if Lucian wants it that way, we'll do it that way."
"You grew fond of him quickly, little sister, but I tell you he just wants to use you."
"I know this, just as we were tools for Muzan. At least being his tool is more enjoyable."
"Maybe you're right." Gyutaro said sighing. It's not very difficult to be more pleasant than Muzan.
At least with Lucian's arrival, Daki started to smile more, unlike before when she was always frustrated.
"And I am, that can be seen by the fact that we can now walk in the sun." smiled Daki, not allowing uncertainty on this matter.
"Still, I'm afraid he has some more intention" grumbled Gyutaro, he always felt that Lucian wanted something more from his sister.
"I'm counting on it, hihihi." Daki said laughing, a gleam of expectation appearing in her eyes.
At this moment Lucian appeared beside them.
"What were they talking about?" Lucian asked, a hint of playfulness appearing on his face.
"We didn't talk about anything," Daki said, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks at the thought that Lucian might have heard her bold words.
Lucian just gave a "I believe you" look.
"Do you remember those slayers you had met in disguise, a courtesan in House Ogimoto, an oiran in House Kyogoku, and an oiran in House Tokito? Capture them, Gyutaro and I will capture Tegen" instructed Lucian.
"Yes master!" Daki left excited, unable to wait to complete this task and receive some praise.
"Come on Gyutaro" called Lucian, leading the way.
They silently ran over the buildings, until Gyutaro started the conversation, thus breaking the silence that hovered over them.
"...I know you want something with my sister, and I know she'll happily accept it, so I can't stop you. But I warn you, if you make her cry, my scythes will rip her head off, understand, man?" Threatened Gyutaro, his concern for Daki evident.
"Don't worry too much, I won't make she cry, and you won't be able to take my head off." Calmly replied Lucian.
"I hope not." With no other choice, Gyutaro could only accept helplessly.
And Lucian just smiled looking at him, this concern for his family is so admirable.
With the incredible speed of the demons, it didn't take long for them to get ahead of Tengen, and of course they had to greet him appropriately.
"What?!?!" Tengen Uzui, who was calmly walking through the streets of Yoshiwara, barely had time to exclaim when he saw the half-moon blades coming towards him.
Even though he quickly did a backflip to dodge it, he still hit, leaving some small cuts on his body.
He then took off the kimono he was wearing, exposing his demon slayer uniform, and drew his sword, standing guard.
Soon his gaze fixed on Lucian and Gyutaro, who were a few meters away.
"Attention! You guys trying to run away, now you are all hostages, don't try to run or you will die!" shouted Lucian, most stopped moving, while the daring ones who still tried to escape were shot in the head.
Looking at those who fell with a big hole in their heads, the poor people who just wanted to have fun were filled with fear.
They had seen Gyutaro send those blood blades, a large weapon appear in Lucian's hands out of absolute nothing and they had seen the cruelty of both of them.
The only thing that perhaps brought them a shred of hope was the tall swordsman who seemed intent on blocking the monsters that appeared.
"Who are you?" Tengen looked at both of them coldly, constantly thinking about how to escape this situation, at the same time tormented by questions that arose in his mind.
'Since when do demons take hostages? And how do they manage to stand in sunlight without turning to ash? If they become immune it will be the end...'
Fear almost took over Tengen's mind, as he knew that without this weakness it is practically impossible to kill a demon.
Nichirin blades become useless, so the only thing that would work would be powerful drugs, but there is no drug that powerful.
Besides, demons adapt very quickly to drugs.
Receiving a look from Lucian, Gyutaro introduced himself.
"I am Gyutaro, the Upper Sixth Moon."
"I am Lucian, the Demon King, we came to invite you" smiled Lucian, full of scorn.
"Demon King?!?" Tengen's pupils shrank, if he fought the demon king, he would undoubtedly die.
"Invitation?" Taking a breath and forcing himself to stay calm, Tengen asked.
"Yes, we kindly came to invite you to our residence, of course I can also give you the written invitation" said Lucian, taking a person and lengthening one of his nails.
Appearing to have the intention of writing the invitation on that person's skin.
"Stop!" shouted Tengen, even if the one in front of him was the demon king he wouldn't back down, he would do his best to save the people present.
"I will go with you."
"I'm glad you saw the sincerity of our invitation, and accepted it willingly" smiled Lucian, looking at him attentively.
"Let's go!" Lucian led again.
"By the way, don't worry about your wives, we have already offered them our hospitality" he commented.
Hearing this, Tengen, who was planning a sneak attack, lowered his sword, despite never loosening his grip on his hands.
'How does he know about them?' His fear only deepened as his body slowly weakened.
"Three wives? Guy, I'm jealous."
After half an hour of walking, they arrived at a small building.
Entering, they saw Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru sitting at the table, or more precisely tied to the chairs with sash.
And Daki also sitting, drinking tea.
"You have arrived!" She quickly greeted when she saw them arriving.
"I hope you enjoyed our hospitality" Lucian said to them after waving to Daki.
"Hospitality?!? You kidnapped us!" Makio shouted irritably.
"Makio calm down!" Hinatsuru at the side warned her, the demons hadn't taken any offensive action, so remaining calm would be best.
Too bad Makio had no intention of listening to her.
"How can I stay calm, this woman who claims to be the future wife of the demon king appeared and captured us uhm umm..." As she screamed a sash covered her mouth, preventing her from continuing.
However, her words made Lucian look at Daki, who blushed and lowered her head.
" Buáá! Tengen-sama sorry for being captured so quickly" said Suma as tears ran down her face.
"Alright, calm down, Makio, Suma. Could you remove that sash from her mouth?" Tengen approached his wives and lightly comforted the furious Makio, and Suma who was almost cracking from crying.
He also didn't ask them to release their wives, he knew it wouldn't achieve anything.
Lucian looked at Daki, signaling to her, who quickly removed the sash that covered Makio's mouth.
And Makio reluctantly remained silent.
"Now let's sit down and have some tea" said Lucian, sitting down and picking up his cup of tea.
"What do you want?" asked Tengen, sitting down. Of course, he didn't even touch the cup, what if it was poisoned.
Even though he had trained a high resistance to poison, he preferred not to ingest any, especially if it was of demonic origin.
"I would just like to kindly suggest that you retire" smiled Lucian, elaborating: "You have three beautiful wives, you should retire and enjoy life"
"What if I refuse?" Tengen replied coldly.
"Then I can increase the persuasion or force you" said Lucian, extending tentacles to entangle Tengen as fast as lightning.
No matter how much he resisted, he was unable to escape.
With Lucian's power he could fight all the hashiras at the same time and still have the advantage, so a Tengen weakened by Gyutaro's poison wasn't much of a problem.
"Tengen-sama!"x3
"Let me think, do I rip off one limb or several? Should I use your wives to persuade you? Or Should I open several wounds and put ants in them?" murmured Lucian, assuming a reflective expression.
And the 4 demon slayers just felt the chill down their spines.
