A Dark Fantasy Spy

Chapter 47

“That’s more chaotic than I imagined.”

I thought being a Count meant a fancy title and lots of money, but I was totally wrong.

“I don’t want to eat this!”

“Aida, there are countless people outside who are starving and wish they had even this. Stop complaining!”

My little sister Aida tossed the bread aside and started to cry, while our father, Count Bradley Somerset, scolded her firmly.

I took a look at the food in front of me, thinking that dining in a noble household might be similar to that of an ordinary family.

On the table, there was a thin, weird-looking soup and bread that felt as hard as rocks.

Honestly, these weren’t exactly delicious meals for a kid.

Determined to eat, I tried to dip the bread into the soup, but just as I was breaking it apart—

Crack!

Did I just hear something splintering?
