A Dark Fantasy Spy

Chapter 457

“Just like the saying goes, watch where you lie down, it’s important to be selective with your guests.”

“Don’t sell to just anyone.”

A dealer must be cautious not to get hooked on their own products, but they also need to have a discerning eye when it comes to customers. If something even slightly seems off? Just make up an excuse and back out of the deal.

This isn’t advice given out of fear of being caught by law enforcement; it’s sincere counsel. You all know it, right? Among those addicted to drugs, you’ll find no normal individuals.

I’ve seen many lives ruined by selling drugs poorly, no matter how much money they made. Be smart about the customers you take in.

Especially with prostitutes and religious zealots.

Don’t even think about doing business with those two.

If you need quick cash, sell something from your house instead and just sell some weed to partying college students. What’s a little pride compared to the importance of your life?

It’s when you feel like you’re about to die from desperation. When you’re cornered and at your wits’ end.

That’s when you seek them out.

Everyone knows that if you mess up selling to a brothel linked to the demon, an Inquisition Officer will come knocking… The real issue is with the religious types; most are cultists, so keep your wits about you.

If the prostitute is an outcast, then the zealot is a necromancer.

The middlemen who profited by skimming off the top aren’t an issue. Their goal is money, not drugs.

Sometimes they suggest religious practices only to end up in a fight with someone from a different faith, turning into a land mine. Just keep the underlings in check, and you shouldn’t have to worry. They’ll avoid violence because that’s bad for business, and high priests often handle conflicts diplomatically.

But those who use the products for themselves? They are the real deal.

You can tell by their eyes that they’re different from the opportunistic dealers. How do I know?

There was a time when I was in deep financial trouble. My broker got arrested, and in a rush to cover the holes in the ledgers, I tossed some goods to a cultist. I thought I could pad the books and pocket a little extra.

…Shit. That guy ended up in the news.

I figured they’d just use it for wild parties or brainwashing. Did I think they’d actually consume it and follow through? Crazy bastards.

I still have no idea what kind of mess they got into.

You really think a drug dealer would get welcomed in heaven? If you want to go to hell when you die, don’t sell drugs to zealots. If you get wrapped up with them, it’s not just you but everyone around you that’s screwed. Anyway, once you die, you’ll get your tour of hell, right? It seems unfair to have to see it while alive, doesn’t it?

Sometimes, nothing happens, and you get lucky. But you’d be surprised how many end up in the coffin thinking they’re invincible.

If you realize you’ve been doing business with a cult, pack your bags and find a priest. It doesn’t even have to be a priest; just go to any religion that catches your eye. Young folks might not know, but older folks will invite you in without explanation.

Even if it’s not your faith, sit quietly during worship time and pray. You can repent later. Just stay still until the Inquisition or Religious Police come to take you away. But don’t get reckless and run to a hideout just because you’re scared of prison.

Whether you knew what you were selling or not, there have been plenty of idiots who sold to a cult. But have you ever seen someone spreading this kind of advice aside from me?

…Anyway.

If what’s on your shoulder isn’t a pumpkin, please think twice before you sell your goods.

Why do religious fanatics even venture into drugs?

They’re definitely not buying it for what we think.

Please, for the love of your life, don’t get mixed up with those guys.
