Chapter 280
Although being a soldier is my job, I don’t actually wear my combat uniform as often as one might expect.
Perhaps it’s only natural, since I’m an information officer. More precisely, I belong to the military intelligence unit.
When I was stationed at the Information Command, it was during the transition from analog to digital, so I was issued a digital combat uniform, but I rarely had a chance to wear it.
During my commutes, I had to wear civilian clothes (which amounted to a suit, anyway).
Wearing an employee identification badge that only my coworkers would recognize, I’d enter the first floor in my suit, greeted by a plainclothes staff member armed with a gas gun as I got into the elevator.
Once I pressed the buttons in the designated order to reach the floor with the office, I would change into one of the two combat uniforms provided in the corner cabinet.
Only then would I finally don my combat uniform.
Of course, whether I was going overseas or working domestically, if I had a field duty, there was no time to change into a combat uniform.
So it seems I ended up wearing my combat uniform much more frequently when I worked at the Military Intelligence Agency than when I was in the Information Command.
I was cooped up in the office every day as Colonel Clevenz’s aide, so it was only natural.
In any case, the point is simple.
Whether I like it or not, I’m someone who wears civilian clothes more often than combat uniforms, making civilian wear inherently more comfortable for me wherever I go. Especially suits.
However,
For some reason,
Today, my suit feels especially constricting.
As I loosened my tie and placed it over my shirt, I let out a soft sigh.
“…Are you ready?”
“Ah, yes.”
At Lucia’s voice, I slowly turned around.
Trying my best not to get her in my line of sight. And to avoid making eye contact.
But considering the cramped room, even turning my gaze was somewhat awkward.
“…….”
I sat on the edge of the bed.
And before me, Lucia, who was so scantily clad that it was hard to believe she was a saint—no, a priestess—began to slowly approach.
“Then let’s get started.”
