A CAGE DEDICATED TO YOU

The girl showed up at her 10th birthday. To celebrate Ivylina's birthday, Ivy & her father was making a birthday cake. It was late afternoon.

“Is there anyone here?” a young but very fragile girl asked standing infront of their little cottage.

Ivy's father & she went out to see who come. When that girl saw her father, she asked him, “Are you Mr. Berily?”

Father said, “yes”. Then she give Ivy's father a letter.

After reading the letter, Ivy's father immediately said, “ No, I'm not that person”. But then again looking at her, he said, “ Why are you here for me? I can't give you shelter.”

She replied with a very beautiful smile, “ I'm sorry to disturbing you but i don’t have any place.”

“Are you that bastard's child?”

She replied, “I don't have any father. Mother leave me 2 year ago to my aunts’ house, but she also recently abandon me”

“Then how come that man wrote a letter to me? How do you know him?”

“He took me in from the road when my aunt abandon me but he also abandon me & told me that if i come to you, you will never abandon me cause, You never did it, not even 10 years ago”

Father got angry, but as he was kind, he couldn’t tell her to go anymore. So, he decided to take her in.

“What's your name?”

“Lara, sir”

“Don’t call me, sir. How about uncle?”

“Yes”

Ivylina was looking at them. Their conversation made her realize that, what kind of disaster her father is gonna taking in.

“Ivy, come here. Do you like her?”

“NO”

“Don’t be cold to her. Look how fragile she is.”

“Yes, dad”

She was beautiful. Father took her in, gave her food. She ate like, she was hungry for years & after eating she immediately become sleepy, making Ivy's father more helpless.

“I'm thinking about adopting her. What do you think?”

“I don't like her. If i say no will you respect my decision?”

“My dear, i will still love you more.”

“It’s not jealousy Dad. It’s concern. What if her being here isn’t good for us?”

Father looked at her (Ivy) & smiled. He asked her to take a nap cause this time 2 people are gonna wish her.

She realized her father choose her ( L). She have nothing to say anymore. She really don't want to make him feeling guilty in future. So, she respected his decision.

That’s how that day come to end.

*At evening*

They wake up. Lara woke up before Ivylina. So, her father suggested her (L) to take a bath.

They sit down together, cut cake, wished for long-lasting happiness. Ivy's Father told her that he is gonna adopt her. That time she (I) saw her (L) eyes sparkling she was happy enough to forgot express her thankfulness in words.

She (I) realized that, this home, she (L) needed it. Her smile gave Ivy a heartache as if she is watching her own sister. According to Ivy, she was helplessly cute.

They decided to share my room with her.

“Um, what can i call you?”

“Ivy, just like father.”

Her eyes sparked again, “I know you don’t like me but I'll do my best to be a good sister.”

"Why? Why do you need to be a good sister?”

“Yes?”

“Think about my question. Why do you need to be a good sister?”

“Um, to have a good impression on you.”

“Your answer didn’t satisfy me. How come you will become my sister.”. Ivy laughed like crazy.

She looked quite sad. So, Ivylina kissed her forehand & told her, “Think what kind of answer i want to hear, Lara. I'll be waiting for your answer.”

For some reason, Ivy like Lara's expressions.

“So, Let's sleep.”

She nods her head
