30 Years in Whitebeard’s Crew, I Became Invincible

Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Not Even a Hair Left, Doflamingo’s Treasury

"Seriously, if you can't win, just run? Do you really want to keep fighting?" Roy looked at Fujitora.

"You killed one of the Five Elders?" Fujitora asked in a deep voice.

"No, not quite. Killing that old bastard isn't so easy. He escaped. After all, someone who's lived for hundreds of years is bound to have some tricks up their sleeve," Roy said.

"The Five Elders have lived for hundreds of years?"

"Yeah, didn't you know? The Five Elders have always been the same five. They've been around for over 800 years," Roy chuckled.

"But… isn't it just the title being passed down? How can humans live that long?" Fujitora was stunned.

"There's a lot you don't know. The Five Elders have always been the same five. Anyone who's seen their true faces is long dead; they just didn't live long enough to expose the truth," Roy explained.

"Why can they live so long?" Fujitora pressed.

"Why are you asking me? I don't know either. All I know is they've been around forever. Shame he escaped, I wanted to study him. Did you notice? Not a single drop of blood or scrap of flesh was left behind."

Roy scanned the battlefield. Despite the damage he'd inflicted on Saturn, there was no trace of blood or tissue, as if the Elder wasn't made of flesh at all.

The Five Elders might not even have physical bodies. Maybe they were just manifestations entities of their Devil Fruits.

Just like the fruit Roy had, after Regan ate it, his body was overtaken by the fruit, and the fruit's true form was revealed.

The Five Elders seemed similar to this, except the true secret likely lay with Imu.

What kind of power allowed teleportation, communication, and shared immortality?

From what he'd seen of Imu's attack on Sabo, there was something tail-like, clearly a Zoan-type ability.

Logia and Paramecia powers tend to be more straightforward, but Zoan Mythical types are filled with bizarre abilities.

The Phoenix's healing flames, the Nine-Tailed Fox's mimicry, the Yamata no Orochi's eight lives.

Each Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit has its own unique power. The Fish-Fish Fruit is more complex, but its elemental control is overwhelming.

So yeah, no surprise, it's definitely a Mythical Zoan.

"Whatever, you're blind anyway. You wouldn't see it. I don't want to kill you, you're still useful," Roy grinned.

"Why?"

"Because you'll be the one to abolish the Warlord system. You, who once lost everything to pirates, fought so hard for your country, only to be betrayed by the very nation you tried to protect."

"You hate those people, so you shut your eyes, blinding yourself so you couldn't see the world's suffering. But Dressrosa showed you the truths."

"Everything here is built on lies, just like back then. I'm going to take what's mine from Dressrosa. Do what you want."

"What could you possibly want here?" Fujitora asked, confused.

"Money. The Donquixote Family's been running their empire for years. They're loaded." Roy laughed.

Illegal businesses are always the most profitable. Doflamingo made a fortune over the years. Even Crocodile, after spending time in Impel Down, had accumulated enough wealth from Alabasta.

That's how he had money to loan to Buggy, helping him start the Pirate Dispatch Organization.

But Doflamingo's empire dwarfed Crocodile's. Who knows what he needed all that money for?

Bellamy once brought him a golden pillar from Skypiea, worth billions. The Skypieans, mistaking him for Luffy's ally, entrusted it to him. With Bellamy's strength, there was no way he could've taken it by force; he must've swindled them.

Even after bringing down such a valuable treasure, Doflamingo still refused to let him join the family.

Doflamingo was truly cold; he looked down on someone who idolized him. A fanatic like Bellamy would've died for him, perfect loyal dog material.

In a story, Doflamingo would've been called a fool for wasting that.

But the world was twisted like that. Bellamy grew up in the North Blue, hearing tales of the Donquixote Family.

Just like kids hearing about legendary gangsters, they naturally admire them.

These types often end up as cannon fodder, except most bosses aren't as ruthless as Doflamingo.

Anyway, Roy wasn't about to let Doflamingo's fortune fall into the hands of the Revolutionary Army.

Money is money, no way he'd miss out.

Fujitora returned to Dressrosa. The fighting was still ongoing. Atmos and Roy were scanning the scene, trying to see if any remnants of the Five Elders were left.

After searching thoroughly, they truly found nothing, not even a single hair.

Roy had hoped to collect blood samples to replicate their Devil Fruits.

But there was literally nothing.

"Guess they really are just walking bones. Already dead."

"Big bro, what kind of monster is the Five Elders?"

"I don't know either. All I know is they've got Mythical Zoan powers. Forget it. Let's go get the money and get out," Roy said.

"Got it!"

Atmos took Roy back to Dressrosa's mainland. The fighting was still raging. Doflamingo's birdcage was somehow still up.

Atmos slashed with one swing and severed dozens of threads.

Thinking back, it was kind of laughable, so many people trapped by one birdcage, even a Marine Admiral inside. What a joke.

With his blade on his shoulder, Atmos followed Roy onto the island.

Meanwhile, Fujitora had also arrived, and he confronted Sabo, and the two began fighting fiercely.

"Let's go underground. If the intel's right, the stash is down there," Roy said with a grin.

"The terrain's changed a lot; it might be tricky," Atmos noted.

"It's almost over."

Roy glanced toward the battlefield. Luffy had entered Gear Second again, while Doflamingo had awakened his fruit, they were about to finish their final showdown.

They found the underground entrance. Thanks to Pica's destruction, the passage was unstable.

Directly beneath the royal palace, Roy and Atmos arrived at a large door. They weren't alone.

"Hey, what are you guys doing?" Roy said with a smirk.

"Shhh! Almost got it open!" said Koala, wearing a stethoscope and motioning to be quiet.

"There's no need for all that trouble," Roy smiled.

"Wait, who are you?" Hack said, raising his stance.

It was dark underground. Koala finally noticed there were others with them and immediately adopted a Fishman Karate stance.

"Help them open it," Roy said calmly.

"Yes, big bro," Atmos responded, transforming into a dragon and breathing a stream of flames at the vault.
