100% DROP RATE : Why is My Inventory Always so Full?

Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - It Worked!

Lucien and the Division Representatives gathered in the study.

Each of them held responsibilities over their respective groups and it would be their duty to relay important orders to their members.

Lucien sat at the desk. His eyes were sharp but his voice was calm as he began outlining the future of Lootwell.

"Green," he started, turning to the representative of the Sustenance Division, "Your team will continue tending to the crops. Let me know immediately if something unusual happens. Soon, we'll add livestock into the mix. Tell your team to prepare."

Lucien chuckled.

"It's not right for us to survive on greens forever. You know more about this than I do, so I'm trusting you to handle it."

Stone nodded firmly.

Next, Lucien turned to Elk, representative of the Crafting Division. "No urgent tasks for now. I'll assign your team's next job soon. Rest for now."

Then his gaze met Clara of the Spiritual Division. "I don't have to tell you anything, do I?"

Clara beamed. "I already know what to do, my Lord."

Lucien smiled then addressed Cecil of the Administration Division. "You'll be our record keeper. I'll have Sebas train you personally. Also, I'll need your team's help soon... We'll be purchasing livestock."

He paused.

"Not from the Coalhearts," he added with a sneer. "Those bastards to the north are off-limits. Instead, we'll reach out to the neutral noble houses west and southwest of us."

Lootwell sat in the far easternmost corner of the map, nestled in the border territories.

Lucien planned to send messengers and runners to the west to purchase livestock.

Though the western noble houses were farther... about three to four days journey back and forth... They were far more trustworthy than the treacherous Coalhearts.

He also had another goal in mind. His soon-to-be army needed meat to grow stronger. Protein would fuel their training and speed up their development.

He also considered the idea of buying fish.

But he shook his head.

To the direct north, a day's journey away, there once stood a noble house renowned for its abundant fish trade.

But disaster struck and as fate would have it. The Coalheart Barony to its west, also a day's distance away, seized the opportunity and took over the ruined lands.

Lucien didn't have to mention that it was the Coalhearts who caused that disaster.

Now, the Coalhearts controlled multiple villages across the north and northwest of Lootwell Barony.

Lootwell, by comparison, had only one village to its name.

Lucien sighed. Despite being near the sea, Lootwell couldn't fish. Mountains blocked their access to the coast.

'I'll make a path to the ocean someday,' he thought. 'But not yet. First, we need to survive.'

He returned to the matter at hand.

"Stone," Lucien turned his head to the representative of the Construction Divisions, "Your team's going to be busy. We need fortifications... Starting with a wall. Don't worry, I'll provide the materials."

Lucien of course wanted a wall. It' perfect for their territory to avoid invasion. The mountains itself act as their protection so they just need to build walls on the side facing the forest.

Finally, Lucien faced Lukas, the representative for their Defense Division. "We need to grow stronger. Our enemies are formidable... but I believe we can win."

Lukas nodded in quiet agreement. They all knew the Defense Division still had a long way to go. Some are just civilians and a few are Tier 1 or 2 at best.

Lucien took a deep breath and steadied himself.

Then without a word, he reached into his inventory and pulled something out.

"Everyone, take a look at this," he said.

He placed a book on the table with a solid thump.

It was worn but it radiated a subtle energy.

The title etched in faded ink read:

Manual of Flowing Fist.

"This will be the foundation of the Defense Division's training," Lucien announced.

He then added.

"But it's not exclusive. Anyone who wants to learn it, go ahead. Study it. Copy it. Train with it. It's open to all."

A wave of confusion passed through the group.

Then Lukas stepped forward, eyeing the manual. The moment he got a closer look, his expression hardened.

He then froze.

"This… This is incredibly precious," he said. His voice were tight with disbelief. "My lord… something like this... this isn't meant for people like us."

He lowered his head.

But Lucien simply raised a hand. "Enough. Take it and train. We don't have time for hesitation. We must get stronger."

Lukas straightened.

His eyes are firm now. He then gave a deep, respectful nod. "Understood. With all my heart. Thank you, young lord."

The others looked puzzled and unsure of the manual's significance.

Lukas stepped forward and began to explain.

"This Manual of Flowing Fist," he said, "contains not only a complete set of martial arts techniques… but also something far more valuable."

He looked up with eyes shining with conviction.

"A Mana Circulation Technique. Clear. Refined. And efficient."

Gasps rippled through the room. They all knew how rare that was. Most of them fumbled through mana control with instinct and guesswork.

But this manual laid it out plainly, like a map to something they thought unreachable.

Lukas nodded slowly. "It's… unbelievable. Something like this... People kill for it. Families go to war over it."

He looked back at Lucien, awestruck.

"And our lord just gave it to us... freely."

He wasn't alone in his gratitude. The others were beginning to realize its weight. They could see Lucien's intent.

He didn't just want them to survive. He wanted them to thrive!

And he never hoarded strength. He shared it.

Clara had fallen into one of her quiet trances. Her hands clasped tightly in a wordless prayer.

In the corner, Sebas wore a faint smile.

In that moment, no one questioned their loyalty. Lucien had given them more than orders. He had given them hope and a future worth fighting for.

But that wasn't all.

Lucien reached into his inventory once more and handed each of them a small notebook. It was personalized for each division.

"There are tasks and instructions inside," he said. "Each of you has different contents tailored to your roles. Find time to work on them with your teams. I assure you. Something good will happen."

Curious, they began flipping through the pages.

They don't understand it yet but each notebook was filled with carefully selected skills and detailed methods on how to acquire them.

Some tasks were straightforward. Others were difficult, demanding patience and effort.

While they don't know about its significance, none of them doubted Lucien.

He never gave orders without purpose.

"These aren't just for growth," Lucien continued. His tone became low and mysterious. "If you complete the instructions and notice any strange changes... Report to me immediately."

A pause.

Then with a sly smile, he added, "Oh, and one more thing. Relay this to everyone. For every Tier you rise, I'll personally give you a reward. With the Manual of Flowing Fist at your disposal, it should be much easier now."

Their eyes lit up with anticipation. Lucien wasn't just pushing them to improve. He was guiding their evolution!

And he clearly had something bigger in mind.

Lucien paused as if something had just crossed his mind.

"…Also, there's one more thing," he said slowly.

He hesitated.

'I'm not even sure this will work… but let's try.'

With a flick of his hand, he summoned it.

SKILLPEDIA.

The room lit up as an ancient-looking book materialized in the air. It floated gently above the table. Its dark cover pulsed faintly with power.

Everyone's eyes widened. None of them had seen anything like it before. They didn't know what it did but its presence alone was enough to command awe.

On the other hand, Clara...

Anyways, Lucien ignored the reactions, especially Clara's, and calmly flipped the pages.

He navigated through the Monster Skills section. He stopped when he found the entry.

BURROWER'S EYE

He studied the page for a moment and a grin creeped across his face.

He had seven extra skill cards. They were the loot dropped from the Soilwyrms he'd been farming.

With the improved rarity of drop rates and his growing collection of Soilwyrms, the number of the skill cards in his SKILLPEDIA had steadily increased.

Now, he wanted to test something.

Something bold.

Lucien turned to the side and called out, "Sebastian."

The butler responded instantly.

Lucien smiled. "Sebastian… do you believe me if I say I can give you a skill right now?"

Sebas blinked, caught off guard.

"Young lord… It's Sebas," he said cautiously, "If there's a skill you want me to learn, just say the word. I'll train for it."

The way Sebas responded made something click in Lucien's mind. His eyes narrowed slightly.

'He knows something about SKILLPEDIA...'

Not just what it did but possibly where it came from.

Sebas had that quiet, composed look he always wore but there was a flicker in his eyes.

Familiarity.

Recognition.

And he was right.

Sebas did know of it... because his soul brother, "Luke," had used it before. The very same book that now floated before them had once guided Luke's training. He was the reason Sebas now possessed his current skills.

But there was a catch.

Sebas believed, as Luke had taught him, that all skills had to be earned.

Through sweat.

Repetition.

Effort.

There are no shortcuts.

But Lucien shook his head with amusement in his eyes. "No. Not later. I mean right now."

Sebas went silent.

Instantly learning a skill? That wasn't possible. It shouldn't be.

'If it were,' Sebas thought grimly, 'then Luke wouldn't have trained like a madman to earn what he did.'

Lucien could almost see the doubt playing across Sebas's face...

And that made Lucien's grin widen even more.

"How about we make a bet?"

Sebas raised a brow, sensing the playful tone.

He let out a soft chuckle then closed one eye and gave Lucien a rare smile... The kind only someone who'd known him a long time could give. It was the look of a watchful caretaker humoring a mischievous child.

"If what you say is true, young lord…" he said with a teasing lilt, "I'll even change my name to Sebastian."

Lucien burst out laughing. "You said it! No backing out now!"

The room lightened with laughter. Even the stern representatives couldn't help but smile at the exchange.

It was a rare moment.

Humor.

Trust.

Camaraderie all wrapped in a single bet.

None of them knew that what was about to happen would leave them speechless.

Lucien picked up one of the Burrower's Eye skill cards, holding it between his fingers like it was nothing.

Without a word, he stepped forward and pressed it to Sebas' forehead.

The room fell into silence. The others watched with furrowed brows and puzzled expressions.

Then...

Light.

The card pulsed, glowing with a soft hue before dissolving into Sebas' skin like it had been absorbed into his very soul.

And then...

Lucien laughed.

Loud and triumphant.

"Hahahaha! It worked!"

He could barely contain his excitement, barely stopping himself from jumping. But he managed to rein it in.

He turned to Sebas, grinning from ear to ear.

"Well then… Mr. Sebastian, do you feel anything different?"

Sebas stood frozen.

For a heartbeat, nothing happened.

Then...

His POKER FACE shattered.

Shock rippled across his face.

His eyes wide.

Mouth slightly ajar.

His usual stoic mask melted into something completely unguarded.

Raw.

Disbelieving.

And almost… ridiculous.

It was the kind of expression that made even Clara blink out of her trance.

Sebas rubbed his eyes instinctively as if trying to confirm the sensation spreading through him.

"…Impossible," he muttered. "I… I didn't train… I didn't even—"

The room was silent again.

Then slowly, the others began to realize what had just happened.

Lucien had given a skill.

Directly.

Instantly.

And it worked.
