Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?

Chapter 9: Chapter 09 - On Time?

Lucas was still sitting on the couch, wide-eyed. Since he barely touched grass or socialized, he'd completely lost track of the days.

"Monday? Tomorrow? What the hell!" he blurted out, clutching his head. His rainbow-colored hair was a mess, making him look even more ridiculous.

He glanced at his reflection in the small mirror on the coffee table.

"How am I supposed to show up like this in front of Lena?" he muttered. Ever since the system punished him with rainbow hair for failing a previous task, Lucas hadn't mustered the courage to go to a salon or even dye it himself.

Getting up from the couch, Lucas started pacing around his tiny apartment, trying to think of a solution. He remembered a thrift store nearby that might sell a hat or hoodie big enough to cover his hair.

"That's a cheap temporary fix," he thought.

But the bigger problem was Lena herself. Lucas knew his stepsister never missed an opportunity to mock him. If Lena saw him with rainbow hair, she'd probably burst out laughing and maybe even take a photo to immortalize the moment.

"How am I supposed to face her like this?" Lucas groaned, flopping back down on the couch. He remembered the last time they'd met—Lena was no longer the shy little girl she used to be. She'd grown stubborn, sarcastic, and never hesitated to throw sharp words at him.

Host seems anxious. Remember, there's no progress without challenges.

Lucas sighed.

"Challenges? This system is basically a cheap motivational speaker."

He got up again, grabbed his jacket, and decided to go out and buy something to salvage his appearance. But his steps froze when he heard his phone ringing. Lena's name popped up on the screen.

"Why's she calling now?" Lucas's chest tightened. He hesitated for a few seconds before finally picking up.

"Hello?" His voice came out awkward.

"Lucas," Lena's voice was firm as always. "I just wanted to make sure you don't forget to pick me up tomorrow."

Lucas tried to sound casual.

"Of course not. I never forget important stuff."

Lena snorted.

"I know you. You're always either forgetting or late. If you make me wait at the station, I'll never forgive you."

Lucas forced a small laugh.

"Don't worry. I'll be there on time."

There was a brief pause on the other end before Lena added mockingly,

"Oh, and I heard from Dad that you're still as weird as ever. Don't embarrass me, okay?"

Lucas bit his lip, holding back a retort.

"Weird how exactly?"

"Oh, don't play dumb. You remember your disgusting behavior, forcing me to call you 'Onii-chan.' Anyway, just don't make me regret moving to the same city as you," Lena said before hanging up without waiting for a reply.

Lucas stared at the now-dark phone screen.

"She didn't even give me a chance to say anything!"

He let out a long sigh, trying to calm himself down.

"Okay, Lucas. You can handle this. Tomorrow will be fine… or at least not as bad as you think."

But deep down, Lucas knew facing Lena and fixing their relationship wasn't going to be easy.

Lucas was still sitting on the couch with his phone in hand. After that short yet piercing conversation with Lena, the weight on his shoulders felt even heavier. Lena had always been blunt and cynical since middle school. Lucas sighed, rubbing his face with both hands as he tried to process everything.

"Why do I always get tasks like this?" he muttered. His rainbow hair, the message from his dad, and the system piling on more pressure made the situation feel almost impossible.

He opened his phone again, this time to look for a cheap hat or hoodie online. If there wasn't an instant solution, at least he could hide his rainbow hair. But the prices weren't friendly to Lucas's wallet.

Task Update:

Host, be aware that Lena has a highly critical personality, especially towards you. The chance to repair your relationship only comes once. Make it count.

Tips: Your rainbow hair can be an interesting conversation starter. Use your creativity to turn a weakness into a strength.

---

Lucas stared at the screen with a scowl.

"What kind of tip is this? Rainbow hair as an icebreaker? Yeah, sure, right before she roasts me to death."

But he knew, despite his frustration and the system's annoying advice, it wasn't entirely wrong. He'd been running from problems for far too long. Rainbow hair? Yeah, it was weird. But maybe it was time to stop being ashamed and start facing reality.

"Fine, if that's what you want," Lucas thought, resigning himself to the situation. He walked to the bathroom, tidied up his hair, and tried to think of a way to make himself look less ridiculous. At the very least, if he could appear confident, maybe it would help.

His newfound confidence was put to the test when he stepped out of his apartment to buy a few necessities. People stared at him along the way—some with confused looks, others with amused smiles. Lucas tried to ignore them, but the heat rising to his face was hard to hide.

---

At a thrift store, Lucas found a black hoodie with a large enough hood to cover his hair. It was a bit worn, but it was enough to make him feel a little more secure.

"Now to get ready for tomorrow," he muttered as he walked back to his apartment. But the thought of Lena kept haunting him. What if she really couldn't forgive him? What if this only made their relationship worse?

As Lucas opened his apartment door, the system's notification chimed again.

Suggestion: Make a simple plan to welcome Lena. Bonus: +1 Spin Token if you manage to make her smile within the first 24 hours!

---

Lucas scoffed.

"Make Lena smile? That's like asking a lion to go vegan."

Even so, he realized this was a chance to show his stepsister that he had changed. If he kept trying, maybe their relationship wouldn't be strained forever.

With that thought in mind, Lucas spent the rest of the night planning how to greet Lena. Hoodie ready, rainbow hair reluctantly accepted, and humor? Hopefully, that would be enough to face Lena.
