Chapter 4: Chapter 04 - Easy Money
Lucas finally made it back to his apartment. He shut the door gently and stood still, gazing at the cramped space that had been his home for years. As always, the place was quiet, accompanied only by the faint whirring of an old fan spinning lazily in the corner.
He tossed his jacket onto the worn-out couch and trudged into the tiny bathroom, staring at himself in the mirror. His rainbow hair shimmered under the light like a hologram, making him look like a misplaced carnival mascot. But instead of getting mad or upset, he let out a small chuckle.
"Well, it's not that bad," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. "Not like I was winning any style awards anyway."
He turned on the faucet, splashing cold water on his face. The refreshing sensation jolted his mind back to memories of his life before Brightville—a time when he was brimming with confidence, before everything took a turn.
---
Lucas hadn't always been like this. Back in Greenhill, his small, boring hometown, he was the guy full of ambition. While everyone else seemed content with their simple, monotonous lives, Lucas felt he was destined for something bigger.
After graduating high school, he made a bold decision. "I'm not gonna waste my life working in a store or a factory like them," he declared. He believed his dreams were too big for Greenhill.
Brightville, a city famous for its opportunities, felt like the perfect place to start fresh. Armed with meager savings and big hopes, Lucas packed his bags. He pictured himself as a future success story—a big-time entrepreneur, a famous gamer, or someone inspiring millions.
Reality, however, had other plans.
The moment he arrived, he was smacked by Brightville's high cost of living, intense job competition, and harsh realities he hadn't anticipated. His savings disappeared faster than he could have imagined, and those dream jobs? Nowhere in sight.
Lucas bounced between side hustles—waiting tables, manning the register at convenience stores, even delivering packages. None of them brought him closer to the life he had envisioned. They only kept him afloat. When he stumbled upon gaming as a source of income, it wasn't out of passion but necessity. It paid just enough, didn't require much social interaction, and saved him the trouble of commuting.
"I can't even remember the last time I had a real friend in person," he muttered, staring at his reflection. "The irony, huh? I left Greenhill because I didn't want an average life, and now I'm stuck with… this."
He splashed water on his face again, trying to wash away the bitter thoughts. Brightville wasn't just a city; it was a graveyard for his old dreams.
Still, going back to Greenhill was never an option. To Lucas, returning home meant admitting defeat—something he swore he'd never do.
"Even if I went back, nothing would change. I'd still be a loser," he said, laughing dryly at himself.
He glanced at his colorful hair again. Sure, it was humiliating, but it was also a strange reminder that his life wasn't completely dull anymore. With the Ultimate Spin System now part of his reality, who knew what might happen next?
Letting out a deep sigh, Lucas grabbed his jacket from the couch and collapsed onto his bed. He stared at the cracked ceiling above, muttering, "No clue what kind of chaos this system's gonna bring, but it's more exciting than random webcam girls on pop-up ads."
With that thought, he closed his eyes, trying to sleep despite the whirlwind of possibilities spinning in his head.
---
Lucas was still lost in thought on the couch when curiosity got the better of him. He sighed, then spoke into the empty air, as if addressing the system.
"Hey, system, I've want to ask… Is all this just about spinning weird wheels like before? Or is there more to this?"

Lucas read the list carefully, his eyes darting to the corner where his current token balance was displayed.
[ Spin Tokens: 2 ]
"So, I've got two tokens..." he mumbled, grinning slightly as his gaze shifted between the Wealth Spin and Ero Spin options.
"Money or…" He smirked before making his choice. "Obviously, money first!"
[ Initiating Wealth Spin… ]
This wheel looked much fancier, featuring symbols like stacks of cash, gold bars, credit cards, and even virtual properties. Lucas stared at it intently, his heart racing.
"If I luck out again, I swear—"
[ Congratulations! You've won: $5,000 Cash Transfer! ]
The system's voice cut him off, and almost immediately, his phone buzzed with a notification. Lucas scrambled to grab it, opening his banking app.
His account balance had jumped by $5,000. His jaw dropped. "Holy… This is real?!"
[ The reward has been directly transferred to your account. Enjoy your newfound opportunities, Host. ]
Lucas clutched his phone like it was a winning lottery ticket, grinning ear to ear. "Alright, system, I'll admit it—this is seriously awesome."
